Warning:

This story is fiction - all names were made up. So if there is anyone out there with these names, I don't know them. If you do not like the idea of male relationships, then please do not read any further.

This is my first story, so please let me know how you think I'm doing. I have been reading the stories on Nifty for about three years, and decided that I wanted to give it a try as a Nifty writer. I would like to know what you think... so drop me an email, and let me know. Please add the story title in the subject line.

I want to thank Joe for all the help he has given me throughout this story. Without his help, I would probably still be on chapter 1. I also want to thank Jere for taking the time to edit the story for me.

So, get comfortable, read the story, and let me know if you enjoy it!

A Voice from The Past

Chapter 4

"Good morning, Tony," Jason said, coming into the room.

"Hello, Jason," Tony replied, with a frown.

"Tony, are you alright? What happened?" Jason asked.

"I just don't know what to do. I have been having dreams, thoughts, or visions. I don't know, but in the first one I was on the beach, walking hand in hand with a guy; I never got to see his face. In another dream, I saw myself holding a baby, which was my sister Heather. Then...

"What, Tony?" Jason asked, as he saw the tears in Tony's eyes.

"I was having an argument with my Dad. He doesn't love me because I'm gay." Tony said, breaking down and starting to cry.

"Jason!" William said, standing at the door. Both Tony and Jason looked up at him. "May I have a minute with Tony?"

"Sure, Dad!" Jason said.

"DAD!" Tony said, with a puzzled look.

"Yes, you talk with Dad, and I'll be back when you are finished." Jason said, lightly kissing Tony on his lips.

Tony's eyes widened, as he pulled away from the kiss, and looked at his father.

"Thanks, Jason," William said, patting Jason's back as he walked out of the room.

"Sure thing, Dad; go easy on him," Jason whispered, as he left the room.

"Is that what you think? That I don't love you?" William asked, as he looked at Tony from across the room.

"I don't know what to think! I was looking at some pictures last night. I found one of you, and I had remembered that I was having an argument with you. You said you would not have a gay son! Then you stormed out of the room!" Tony said, looking at his father with tears in his eyes.

"Tony." William said, walking over to Tony. He sat down beside him and took his hand.

Tony kept looking toward the floor, not wanting to look into his father's eyes.

"Tony, look at me," William said, lifting up Tony's chin. "You're my son! Nothing you can do or say can stop me from loving you. I know, when you first told me about being gay, that I over- reacted," William lightly chuckled.

"Dad, you said you could not have a gay son, and left. That is what I remember," Tony said.

"I know I did son. I was shocked at first. I needed to do some thinking. As I thought about things and got a swift kick in the butt from your Mother, we worked things out. I love you, and I love Jason. You are both my sons," William said, with tears in his eyes. "Evidently you just remember part of what happened."

"Dad, when did Jason start calling you `Dad'?" Tony asked.

"That started about a year ago. That is all I'm going to say. I'll let you talk with Jason about that," William said, standing.

"Dad," Tony said, as William was leaving.

"Yes?"

"Thank you!" Tony said, smiling. "I love you! I am so glad there was a lot more than I remember."

"You're welcome, son. I'll go get Jason," William said, as he left the room.

"How did your talk go with Dad?" Jason asked, as he came into the room, and gave Tony a big kiss on the cheek.

"It went very well. Can we talk for a minute?" Tony asked.

"Sure, what's up?" Jason asked.

"I asked Dad when you started calling him `Dad'. He said a year ago, but that was all he was going to say. He said I had to ask you. So I'm asking you what is going on?" Tony said.

"This is going to be hard to talk about, so just listen," Jason said.

"Okay"

"It was hard for us when we started dating. My previous boyfriend had developed cancer, and I lost him the year before we met. Andy has made it difficult for us from the time I met him. I met you when your friends finally got you out of the house, and you started socializing again, trying to help you to get over a bad break-up. When you came in the restaurant, Tony, I couldn't take my eyes off of you. I knew you were someone I wanted to get to know. I finally got the nerve to come over and talk with you. I then pretended I wanted the empty chair at your table to sit with my friends. We had a couple of weeks just getting to know each other. We went out on several dates, and it became very clear that we enjoyed each other's company. After about 3 weeks of dating, you wanted to take me to meet your family. Things were really starting to get serious between us. I was really glad, because I was already falling in love with you."

"I thought everything was going very well, and I agreed to meet your family. I was secretly hoping that day, that this would be my family. I lost my family when they found out about me being gay. Mom and Dad refuse to talk to me; my sister keeps in touch, but not as much as I would like," Jason said, taking a minute to get his thoughts together, and wipe the tears from his eyes.

"Are you going to be alright, Jason?" Tony asked. "I have some blanks, and I need you to be patient with me, and try to plug all the holes"

"Yes, it's just hard thinking about this, and how I almost lost you, because of Andy." Jason said.

"Andy! What does Andy have to do with this?" Tony asked.

"Andy does not like me; he never has. He tried to keep me away while you were in a coma. Mom made it very clear to him that I could still see you anytime, I wanted. Well, I am getting off base. The night I was to come over and meet your family, Andy was a real ass. Mom and Dad were great, and Heather was the sweetest girl. We had just sat down to eat. Andy was running late, so we started without him. We were having a nice conversation when he showed up. He had been drinking a little, and he was not friendly at all. He started shouting at me, and Dad had asked Mom to take Heather out of the room. After Mom and Heather left the room things got real ugly.

"What happened?"

"As I said, Andy came in, and started shouting. He was telling me how I ruined your life; that I was trash, and that you could find yourself a nice girl. All I had to do was just leave you alone and get out of the picture. He said you were confused; you didn't know what you wanted, and I was leading you down a path to hell." Jason said.

"What the HELL are you doing?" Andy yelled.

Jason and Tony turned around, and saw Andy standing at the door.

"Have you lost your mind? You piece of shit!" Andy said, looking at Jason.

"Andy, what are you doing here?" Jason asked, standing up, facing Andy.

"I'm here to see my brother! I came in here and find you telling him all these lies. You are just trying to turn him against me!" Andy shouted, very angrily.

"I'm not trying anything of the sort. I am telling the truth, and you know it," Jason said, starting toward Andy.

Just as Jason got to Andy, Andy jumped him, knocking him to the floor. He hit Jason in the face several times. Tony was yelling in the background.
