Acceptance

Chris was lying in bed having just come out of the shower. His hair was still damp and he still had his towel wrapped around his v-shaped waist revealing his well defined body that could have only come from the gods themselves. He had the perfect chest, the perfect abs, the perfect everything. There was no part of him that wasn't perfect. He was simply blessed. He had magnificent deep blue eyes that twinkled in the sunlight. His blonde hair was long enough so that it barely covered his eyes. Every girl lusted over him, even some guys. But he stayed single. No one knew why. And he was barely 15.

His arms were folded behind his head as he relaxed to the peace and tranquility of his house. His parents had gone on a three day cruise to celebrate their anniversary and wouldn't be back till Monday. Until then he had the entire house to himself. He glanced at the digital clock on his nightstand. It read 8:37 p.m. It was the weekend so he could stay up as long as he wanted. He stood up and went to his dresser dropping his towel to change into some boxers. He went to his closet next and changed into something more comfortable. Describing Chris's room, it was the average teen's room. Clothes and papers were strewn across the floor, posters were hung on the walls, and a computer sat on his desk, he had a T.V., and a weight bench which helped him develop his muscles further. His cell phone went off and he looked at the caller I.D. It was Jacob, his best friend. He had met him back in 7th grade and they had been best buds since then on.

"Hello?" Chris answered.

"Hey Chris what's up dude?"

"Not much just bored as hell, relaxing." He sat down at his bed.

"Same here, it's a Friday for heaven's sake. Shouldn't there be something going on, some party or something?"

"Nope no party going on that I know of, and believe me I would know." He grinned to himself.

"Yea you would be the first to know." He chuckled. "What do you say you come over to my house and we have a little drink?" He sounded enthusiastic and nervous at the same time.

"Hell yea dude count me in. I'll be over in a sec I just need to grab some clothes and change."

"Bring more clothes if you want to spend the night, the rents are going to be out till Monday they went on some cruise or something."

"Yea my parents went to that as well. I'll bring some clothes then. See you in a bit dude." He closed the phone and tossed it on his bed.

Jacob was one of the hottest boys in school as well but not as hot as Chris. Jacob had brown hair that stopped right above his eyes. His eyes were green compared to Chris's blue ones. They were mesmerizing. His body was well developed too, he worked out every often with Chris in his room. He was single as well. Chris grabbed a bag out of his closet and stuffed some clothes into it that he found that were lying around carelessly on the floor. He had changed already and was heading out his room when he went back to get his forgotten phone. He walked out the front door and walked to Jacob's house that was only a couple of blocks away. The temperature outside was great. There was a breeze that felt cool against his skin. He soon reached Jacob's house and stood under the light that illuminated the front porch. He rang the doorbell and heard it chime. He heard footsteps from the inside of the house. The door swung open and there stood Jacob in some shorts and a plain white t. Chris and Jacob had smiles on their faces.

"Now that you're here, the fun can begin." Jacob joked. Chris laughed.

"Yea, where do I set my stuff?" He asked showing him his bag as he walked inside and Chris shut the door behind him.

"My room, I think you should know the way by now. I'll be in the kitchen making our drinks."

"Alright, be back in sec." Chris said as he trotted up the stairs to Jacob's room.

He set his stuff on the floor and walked back down stairs and found Jacob making their mixed drinks, vodka and sprite. Jacob's parents thought he didn't know where they hid there alcohol. Jacob handed him his glass and Chris took it happily, they clinked glasses saying, "Here's to us, the hottest guys in school." They took a drink and laughed afterwards. They decided they would just relax and watch T.V. in the living room.

After a while they kept refilling their glasses, Chris was on his 5th glass while Chris was on his 4th. Chris knew he was already buzzing maybe even drunk.

"Dude, don't you... don't you think we should stop already." His speech was slurred and slow. He was smiling.

"Naw dude... we're just... we're just starting." He was slurring to.

Jacob got up and got Chris's empty glass and went to the kitchen to refill both of them. He came back out and handed Chris his drink. After those drinks they were for sure, drunk. These were no small glasses. They continued watching T.V. and laughed at the funny parts. When Chris tried to stand he plopped right back down. He had a big grin on his face. He looked at his watch, his vision was blurred but he managed to make out that it was already at least 10, it was still early.

"Du-dude let's, let's... go to your room and... and listen to some mu-music." Yea they were trashed.

They got up and tried to stand on their own but it was not going to happen. After a couple of more tires they managed. Now the hard part was trying to climb up the stairs. The tripped quite a few times and laughed all the way up. They even crawled on the last few steps. They went to his room and Chris plopped himself down on Jacob's bed.

"Y-you bed hog you." He laughed and couldn't stop. He ended falling on the floor and got up and turned on the radio. He lay right next to Chris. Chris turned over and noticed that Jacob had tears streaming down his cheeks.

"Hey J-Jacob what's wrong?" Chris was concerned. Jacob wiped away his tears.

"Noth-nothing man... j-just nothing." Chris placed his hand on Jacob's shoulder.

"Come on du-dude I'm here for you."

"Just drop it du-dude."

"No dude, ju-just tell me what's wro-wrong." He would get Jacob to tell him. But Jacob didn't respond he just sobbed.

"Ju-just tell me you won't hurt m-me." Chris thought to himself, "Why would I hurt him?"

"Du-dude I would never hurt you." He had meant it.

"You remember how we m-met?"

"Yea you were getting b-beat up by some b-bullies for no reason. Then I came and h-helped you."

"They w-were beating me up b-because...cause..." He couldn't finish his sentence. He just cried.

"Please tell me J-Jacob I'm your best friend, you can tell me anything."

"Chris...I'm g-gay and... I l-love you." Streams of tears rolled down his eyes. He couldn't even look at Chris. Chris was dumbfounded he had no idea how to react or what to even say. He stood up.

"So you mean to tell me y-your gay and that y-you love me?"

"I want t-to know that you a-accept me and I h-hope you feel the same." He was still not looking at Chris. Chris wanted to say, "Of course I love you, you're my best friend nothing could ever change that." But he didn't. He said five words instead that hurt Jacob severely.

"I can n-never accept you." He stood up and grabbed his bag. "I'm leaving."

"Wait!" Jacob called out. "Please d-don't leave, I n-need you." He was crying more hysterically now. "Please don't leave me." He whispered it this time, "I love you."

Chris walked out of the room hearing Jacob cry all the way down. He stopped at the front door and whispered to himself.

"I love you to, but I can't accept myself. I'm sorry" He slammed the door and ran to his house rivulets of tears running down his cheeks. What had he just done?
