Chapter 5: The Brotherhood

It’s now April and I’ve almost completed 6 months of service as an Ordeal Member in the Order of the Arrow. Sean has been encouraging me to prepare to ‘seal’ my membership in the OA at the next Brotherhood Ceremony this month. I spent some time doing the paperwork and writing the Lodge Secretary, hoping I could be considered for it before summer. I can memorize what I am required to do for the ceremony in short order, as that just comes naturally to me. Sean says sealing my membership in the OA is the next big step to being involved in the lodge like him.

During the January Court of Honor 4 months ago, Evan, Brandon, Oliver, and I were all promoted to Star Scout. I was relieved that Evan is still dedicated to the Troop and has found a good balance between scouting and rowing. Since I’ve served as a Patrol Leader for 6 months already, I had to give up my position in the troop election in February. Oliver replaced me with Walker as his assistant for Badger Patrol. I’m proud to say both Walker and Garrett were promoted to First Class that January Court of Honor too. For now, Thomas, the new SPL has given me the position of Instructor for First Aid classes, and Evan stayed as a Den Chief.

Evan and I are doing great in school and on the Principal's Honor Roll together. I love being on the tennis team as it gives me something similar to talk about with Evan when he brings up rowing.

I’ve made a conscientious decision not to tell him my full feelings for him and remain closeted to almost everyone at school. I did tell Avery that I think I’m bisexual before Christmas, and she fully supports me keeping it to ourselves. Maybe I’ve spent more time with her than Evan lately as I’ve been over to her house more times than Evan’s this year. Evan and I still, however, remain best friends.

The last time Evan and I did anything together was the Winter Campout after the Court of Honor. I worked my usual routine with my tongue on his cock after lights out in his Cat’s Meow sleeping bag and he blew into my mouth, but I wasn’t prepared for him just crawling back into my bag and making me finish by myself. He told me he had wrist tendonitis from going too hard on the rowing erg so I couldn’t blame him, but we haven’t done anything since then.

Sean and I talk at least once a week and I think of him as a friend now, not just someone else in the OA. There hasn’t been a chance though where I felt comfortable bringing up a girlfriend or boyfriend out of the blue. We moved on from talking about scouts to discussing school, him getting his permit soon, and our older brothers. When he mentioned he was going Christmas shopping at Alderwood Mall one weekend, I casually said ‘Maybe I’ll see you there’ like I already had plans. I didn’t of course, and I had to convince my mom to drop me off, and I would take the bus back.

When I told Sean I was there, we met up and went into Eddie Bauer and REI together because he was looking for his gift for his brother. I helped him pick out a small Fjallraven bag and he invited me to have lunch with his friends at the food court. We spent the rest of the afternoon together and I was starting to fall in love with his cute face again. I’m 15 now and he still looks like he’s 14 and he is even a couple of inches shorter than me. His friends who were both girls were nice and even offered me a ride when I mentioned I had to bus back home and I gladly accepted. I was almost going to drop the question on the ride home, but I was too scared I’d out myself in front of Sean’s friends.

As the Brotherhood event approaches I’ve been talking to Sean even more. Evan’s Elongomat had a bit more experience than Sean, but that meant Sean only had 8 previous candidates to keep up with and convince them to do their Brotherhood Conversion. That obligation to keep up with us only stops if the former candidate leaves scouts or moves out of the Council. Brandon most likely won’t come out to the Brotherhood weekend and Evan has a regatta in Victoria, BC that week, so it looks like I’ll be on my own this time. I told Sean I must be taking up so much of his time versus the 7 other candidates including Bran. Sean said that was nonsense, and he enjoys talking to me about scouts more than anyone else in his troop because I am so dedicated to it. Sean loves scouting as much as I do, and he said he will likely get his Life Scout rank before summer, the second-highest rank in the BSA.

I want to go over some things with Sean the Thursday night before Brotherhood Weekend. Nick was great in telling me about the Ordeal, but there were several changes in the program since he went through it 10 years ago.

Ur def gonna be there rite? No one else from my troop is going except Griffin and he’s doing his Ordeal. I message Sean.

Yes. I didn’t sign up to Elongomat, but they asked me to play Nutiket in the Ordeal ceremony and help with other stuff this weekend. Danny says I should be a natural because I take Drama. Sean replies.

I didn’t know Sean was a theater kid too! Does that mean he’s more likely not to be straight? Why am I still attracted to him I wonder, maybe it’s because Evan and I haven’t done anything in a while, and being closeted at school means I’m afraid to ask anyone else out.

That’s awesome! Didn’t know you were in drama. My brother said he would come by for the weekend, but only on Saturday night as he has to supervise a service project that morning. I send back.

Yup, do you do theater too? Want tickets for our production of Mama Mia next month? I’m playing Harry! Sean messages me back followed by a 🥺

No, I’m in Orchestra 📯, if I can get my mom to drive me up I’ll try! But can u tell me more about this weekend? I ask.

It’s pretty simple Ben, you just need to memorize those things, not perfectly either. I think the dude testing my group last time was ready to give us the answers and repeat after him. Don’t worry Brother, it’s nothing like the Ordeal. I’ll be at your ceremony too, and it sounds like your brother Nick will also be there. Sean replies.

So the obligation, song, admonition, sign, and handclasp rite? I reply looking back at my notes.

Yah you got it Ben, like I said it doesn’t have to be word for word, but I think you have nothing to worry about tbh, you are more prepared for this than anyone I know! Sean writes back.

Thx, cu tomorrow! I reply and put my phone down to prepare my uniform for tomorrow. I think I’ll pack Nick’s navy blue adidas dazzle basketball shorts with three small horizontal stripes on the sides to sleep in. I won’t get to sleep in the Cat’s Meow bag without Evan there, but I have a new blue REI Lumen 20-degree sleeping bag now that I got for Christmas because the Kelty bag’s insulation was starting to get too compressed.

Friday goes by like a blur as I’m excited for the weekend again and I barely have time to say goodbye to Evan when we are dismissed from school because he has to cross the border and catch a ferry.

“I’ll see you Monday?” I ask Evan as he’s still at his locker with some sorrow, as this is the first big scout event that we won’t be going to together. It’s not going to affect his advancement toward Eagle, but it still stings me he won’t be there with me.

Evan takes out his Nike backpack, closes his locker, and pauses to look at me with an apologetic face. "Yeah, Monday. We'll have to catch up then, Ben," Evan says, a hint of sadness in his voice. "I’m sure you’ll meet more people in OA from our district, and I’ll make Brotherhood in the fall."

"It’s okay, I understand this is a big race for you, good luck, and let me know how you do on Saturday ok?" I answer, trying to convince him that I’m not disappointed.

After Evan gives me a fist bump and walks away, I turn towards my locker and grab my backpack. My mind is racing with anticipation for the Brotherhood Weekend. I’ve memorized everything they’ve wanted me to and practiced the handshake and sign with Nick when he was over for dinner on Sunday.

Back home, I only have to prepare my pack as my dad will drive me and Griffin up to camp this weekend. Griffin is somewhat new to the troop, he moved from Texas just over a year ago, fit into our troop nicely, and was tapped out at Camporee when Evan and I were, but couldn’t do the Ordeal with us. He’s a tall and lanky blonde high school freshman with a big nose and messy hair, somewhat quiet, and is currently our Troop Scribe.

I’m sitting on the porch with my pack beside me waiting for Griffin to show up while my dad tries to watch Martha MacCallum on Fox News in the living room. Evan sends out a Snap that he’s at the Peace Arch Border Crossing with a big Canada flag picture over it. The reality sinks into me that Evan is going to be in a whole other country while I’m up at camp. We’ll both be busy, but I hope at least I have a phone signal to keep up with him.

Just as I’m looking away from my phone, a big F-250 pulls up in front of my driveway and Griffin hops out of the passenger side in his full Class A’s. I get up, open the front door, yell at my dad that he’s here, and greet Griffin to put his pack into the back seats of the Tundra with my pack.

“Hey Griff,” I wave to his dad as he drives off and I open the back Tundra door for Griffin.

“Hi Ben,” He nods and smiles at me, his eyes fixed on the Lodge OA patch on my pocket that he’s about to earn this weekend. Griffin and I don’t know each other that well, but my dad offered to drive us up together to save me from going alone.

“You had something to eat right?” I ask, hoping he knows what he’s getting into.

“What, for lunch, it’s only 5 PM?” Griffin looks at me with a scrunched nose wondering what I’m getting at.

“Dad! Griffin hasn’t had dinner yet!” I tell my dad as he’s locking the front door.

“We’ll stop by at McDonald’s or something, get in boys!” My dad says as he walks around to his door.

“I thought they were going to feed us before we started it!” Griffin says as he hops into the back seat with me.

“Barely,” I shake my head at him.

My dad stops at a McDonald’s before we get to the exit for camp. I’ve told Griffin a fair bit about the Ordeal before we get there, and he’s grateful for it. I’ll have to look out for him this weekend like I tried to with Brandon on our Ordeal, but I can’t do much for Griffin after his Elongomat takes over.

While Griffin does have somewhat of an equivalent position in the troop as me, he’s still a First Class Scout and I feel an obligation as a former Patrol Leader to double-check with him that he has everything before we get back on the freeway. As we go through the list I notice he has an expensive-looking Mountain Hardware stuff sack for his sleeping bag. I wish I could look inside it and see how soft it is compared to the Cat’s Meow, but I know I likely won’t get the chance to this weekend. Griffin isn’t exactly the type of boy I’m attracted to, he has somewhat of a rugged face compared to Evan or Sean, but I wouldn’t exactly say no to going through the stuff in his pack all by myself.

When we reach the gate to camp I point out to Griffin that’s what Brandon and I did for our day of labor. Griffin doesn’t look as nervous as Brandon did before our Ordeal months ago, and I think he’s put a lot of trust in me that I’ll be around for some of it and I’ve helped him mentally prepare himself in the hour and a half we’ve been together on the ride up.

“Want to give my dad your phone or they’ll take it from you at the admin building?” I tell Griffin as we get out of the Tundra.

“Sure take it,” Griffin shrugs.

My dad gives me a hug and pockets Griffin’s phone. “See you on Sunday Ben, Nick will stop by tomorrow too.”

“Yup, I know.” I nod my head and put on my pack.

I wave back to my dad as I walk with Griffin along the gravel path to check in for the weekend. “So is there anything else you want to ask? After I leave you, we can’t talk until Saturday night.” I look at Griffin before we go into the building.

“How will I talk to the other guys in my group, like once it starts?” Griffin asks.

“You’ll figure it out, some of the other Elongomats had cue cards, but Sean was good at hand signals.

I get Griffin checked in and I say goodbye to him as he walks toward the dining hall to be with the rest of the candidates. Lane finds my name on the list and looks me over again. “Good to have you back Ben! I thought we’d have more back from 165 considering how big your troop is.”

I nod my head. “Yeah, Evan has a regatta this weekend and Bran has something with his church.”

“Ah, well, David is the lead of your district, he’ll show you where you’re bunking so you can drop your stuff for the night.” Lane uses a ruler to find and check off my name, and I walk over to David who I hope doesn’t have to inspect my pack this time.

David holds out a map of our camp. I’m familiar with how Mt. Baker Council is organized as my dad is an ASM and I know that the district Marysville is in is called Pilchuck and mine is Salish Sea. David points out the sites for Salish Sea in the main part of camp but I see Pilchuck’s are the sites on the south shore of the lake and the first one is labeled “Staff”.

“There’s probably lots of room for you in Nooksak.” David points with his pen.

“Okay, thank you, Brother.” I grin to myself. Coming up to Fire Mountain for 7 years now I know those huge 8-person Adirondacks in that part of the camp don’t offer much privacy. I much preferred the enclosure of the smaller stents or even setting up a tent given what Evan and I did alone, and myself still being semi-conscious about my body. Even sleeping under no cover as Griffin is required to tonight in a nice sleeping bag would be more favorable to me than sleeping in a room with 7 other scouts who aren’t in my troop.

Exiting the admin building, I walk along the south shore of the now-silent lake to find the first site and hopefully Sean. No one is going to second-guess me being over here for now as I’m not an Ordeal Candidate.

Peeping into the first stent, I see two packs in the bunks, and an Eagle Scout uniform hanging up, it’s not Sean’s uniform as he said he’s ranking up to Life Scout next Court of Honor.

The next stent the curtain is open and I see Sean alone looking through his pack in his uniform.

“Benji!” Sean sees me when he looks back up. “What are you doing over here? Shouldn’t you be getting ready for your Brotherhood Counseling session?”

“I was just looking to see if you were here,” I say, trying to come up with my best excuse for wandering off. “You got the place to yourself this weekend?”

Sean shrugs. “For now I guess, who knows when the Ordeal Candidates move in tomorrow night, but this session is smaller than the fall one as there’s only 2 and a half crews.”

“If you don’t have anyone else, do you think I can join you here? I hate those huge cabins on the other side, too many people crammed in there and I can’t sleep most of the time.” I plead to Sean with a hopeful look on my face.

“You really should stay with your district camp, at least for tonight. But I’ll talk to Lane and see if you can tomorrow night, ok?” Sean grins at me as he takes a pair of black dress pants and a black polo shirt out of his bag.

“OK,” I nod my head and step closer, my hands gripping the straps of my pack nervously, hoping he might be comfortable with changing right in front of me.

"Yeah, I can understand, why you don’t want to sleep in a room full of 14-year-olds," Sean replies, glancing at me curiously as he sits down on his bunk. "I like just having one tent-mate too, that private time as you fall asleep where you just shoot the breeze is the best."

He begins to unbutton his scout shirt, not afraid to show me his meek hairless chest, it's amazingly smooth, and his pasty white skin glistens in the evening light. I’m taken aback by his confidence and ease in the situation. Sean is smaller than me, but he has no issue showing off his body.

All I can do is remain silent as he starts to unbuckle his scout shorts and shucks them off to show off the rest of his body, now clad in only a pair of gray Hollister boxer briefs and olive green BSA socks.

Sean seems glad I’m still standing there and he starts to put on the black polo shirt. He motions me to come in closer to step inside and whispers. “Benji, I think we might have more in common than just a love for Boy Scouts, I knew you were different from that first night we met.”

I look down at Sean’s bulge in his boxer briefs and after he adjusts the collar of his shirt, he starts to slowly stroke his dick through the cotton fabric. I’m breathing heavily now, I never thought I’d be so enthralled by someone so soft and gentle as Sean. My eyes are fixated on Sean's hand as he continues to touch himself lightly through his boxer briefs. His dick is not exactly small like the rest of his body, and it desperately wants to be released from the cotton pouch. As his breathing intensifies, I notice his cheeks are bright red, making his pale skin even whiter.

“So was I right?” Sean clears his throat.

I nod my head in agreement. "Yes," I whisper, my voice trembling slightly. "You were right."

Sean smiles at me, and for a moment time seems to stand still. I take in a deep breath, feeling a lightness in my chest. This is happening, this is the first time I’ve ever admitted to another guy that I’m not straight. Yes, Avery knows, but I’ve never brought it up directly with Evan.

“I should probably get changed and help them set up for the ceremony," Sean says, breaking the awkward silence and letting go of his dick as we hear someone laughing loudly in the next stent. "But I’ll do all in my power to get you over here tomorrow night. You better get back to where you are supposed to be too. But you have to promise me never to tell anyone about this ok? My dad is a chair in our district and it might end badly for him.”

“Of course, I’ll see you at the ceremony.” I gulp, reluctantly shutting the curtain behind me, and quickly walk back around the lake to where David instructed me to go at first.

I run back along the dyke to the main part of camp. Half of me is scared of David catching me in the opposite direction he told me to go and the other half is excited about Sean finally coming out to me.

After nearly a half-mile run with my pack through camp, I’m dripping with sweat as I reach my site. I have to sleep in the 8-bunk Adirondack and it’s about half full. As I drop my pack in a bunk in the back corner, someone tries to introduce themselves when I exit the cabin, but I’m still catching my breath and just point back toward the dining hall and start walking toward it.

In the dining hall, Adam is Ordealmaster again and is in the middle of his speech, so I quietly take a sip from the water fountain and wait for Griffin to get up. Sean was right about there being fewer candidates this time as I only count 20 people sitting at the tables with Griffin.

Griffin is called up for the first crew and I grab a snack from the Cracker Barrel with him.

“Think you’re all set?” I ask Griffin as I sip on a juice box.

“Yeah, I’m glad you told your dad to stop for dinner, I guess the food will just get more scant from here.” Griffin grins as he swallows a slice of summer sausage.

“Yes, just remember they won’t ask you to do anything impossible. It’s a great honor that you’re here, there’s only a handful of us who have done this in the troop and you only moved here less than 2 years ago.” I look at Griffin’s uniform and then my own and realize I forgot to put on my OA sash back in the cabin.

“Uhm I’ll see you at your ceremony, I forgot something in my pack!” I throw my juice box in a recycling bin and quickly walk to my site. Thankfully, it’s one of the closest sites to the dining hall and I make it back in 10 minutes just as all the candidates are lining up in their crews to be led outside.

Now that I have more of an understanding of the Order of the Arrow I take in the Pre-Ordeal Ceremony in a new light. I pay close attention to Sean’s part, he speaks with confidence and doesn’t read off cue cards like some of the other actors. Sean adds his own flair to each line. It's clear that he takes his role in the Order seriously, and I feel even more respect for him growing within me.

After the ceremony, I watch Griffin’s Elongomat lead him back to get his pack. I’ve lost track of Sean since the performers are all dressed similarly, and follow a couple of other people from troops in my district back to my site. Most of them still look only 14 and there’s only one other Star Scout like me.

I wish Evan or Brandon would have come with me for at least one familiar face. I’m quite popular in my troop, but knowing other people in my district is another story. Coming from a large troop of over 50 scouts I’m used to having at least one other person I know at every scout activity if Evan wasn’t with me, and everyone in my troop would usually just stick together if we were with other troops.

Quietly, I get into my bunk and change into the adidas navy blue basketball shorts under the cool crisp nylon of my new REI sleeping bag. I haven’t had fun in it as I did with Evan’s bag, but it is softer than my old one. Before I take off my scout shirt, I make sure no one is looking at me and quickly change into a plain white adidas Tech-Fit shirt with 3 stripes on the shoulders.

I drape my uniform on the bunk before I lay back in my sleeping bag to review my OA flashcards before lights out. Everyone else must think I’m a total nerd as the 6 other guys in the cabin are on their phones or goofing off, but I don’t care. Having a moment of solitude to reflect on Sean and me coming out to each other,  I think he considers me a close friend now, but I imagine he faces the same struggles as me being in the closet to my family and most of my friends. He has this confidence about him though like it doesn’t phase him, and I can’t help but admire that.

Just after I’ve gone through my cards for a 4th time, David comes to the campsite and tells us it’s lights out. I tuck the cards under my pad with my flashlight and quickly drift off to sleep knowing I’m fully prepared for the day ahead.

The rest of the camp gets to sleep in slightly later than the Ordeal Candidates, and I have breakfast in the dining hall once they’ve cleared out. I wave at Griffin and the candidates as they all march off toward the work yard, and I review my cards again as I eat before the Brotherhood session begins at 9 AM.

Brotherhood Counseling is as basic as it gets. We’re given a once-over of everything I already had written on my cards, then lined up and individually called over to give the admonition. I say it with the correct pronunciation and the 20-something Eagle Scout named Justin nods his head, but points at the cards I have sticking out of my pocket. “Remember to only say it as a whisper, and never write it down.”

I nod my head politely and get back in line, we’re made to do the same thing with the Sign of the OA Membership and the Handclasp as the next test. Once we’ve all passed, we’re told to sit back down and sing the song, it sounds horribly out of tune between the 16 of us, but Justin seems satisfied that we all did our part.

“Okay you have about 45 minutes before lunch,” Justin tells us. “We have an early lunch then you need to clear out of the dining hall for the candidates and their Elongomats. We’re meeting right back here at 1 PM for the Brotherhood Hike.”

Taking my phone out, I find a quiet corner to message Evan hoping the 2 bars on my phone are sufficient for an iMessage.

How’s Canada, did you race yet? I ask and wait for a moment then load up SnapChat before I realize it won’t work here and Evan’s phone might not even work in another country either.

Frustrated and lonely, I walk around the main part of camp for a short time to look for Sean but can’t find him, however, I hear someone message me.

Just back on the shore, came in 3rd. How are things at camp? Evan replies.

Easier than I thought. You can have my flashcards for next time.

U expect me to read your chicken scratch? Evan tests me.

Fine b that way, just don’t forget to get me a postcard. I remind him.

Yeah yeah, I saw them on the ferry. I’ll send u a pic when I get the medal.

Evan and I might not be a couple, but we still laugh at each other just as best friends do. I call Nick at lunch to double-check that he is going to see me tonight. He tells me not to worry and that he’s already on the 405 to see our parents at home first.

The Brotherhood Hike is something I’m prepared for as well, and Justin or Nimat asks us all to reflect on our time in scouting. Nimat seems impressed with my answers again, especially when  I talk about my desire to make sure everyone in my patrol takes advantage of opportunities to earn badges and move up appropriately, without mentioning his name how I got Garrett to First Class, and finally, my plan to go to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico before I age out.

Back at camp, I look at my phone and Evan sent me a picture of his crew holding their medals. I can see the outline of his stiff dick through his navy blue spandex rowing suit and I have to run to the bathroom to make my hardon go down before Nimat and the rest of my Brotherhood candidates can see it. Luckily no one noticed that I was gone, and we play some fellowship games before the Brotherhood Ceremony.  Nick would probably be disappointed in me if I told him I didn’t make any close friends this weekend, but I feel coming out to Sean was a more important step than getting to know kids in the district I’ll only see once in a while.

As I walk from the cabin to the Brotherhood Ceremony, Sean catches up to me and he’s already dressed in his ceremonial gear with a big smile on his face.

“Benji!” Sean exclaims. “You can move your stuff into my stent after dinner. I think it’ll just be us!”

“Awesome.” I nod and shake my fist in excitement. “Do you want to meet my brother after the ceremony? I think he’s here already, you can tell your brother you met him!”

“Of course!” Sean chuckles.  “We better hurry up or they might start without Nutiket!”

I spot my brother Nick in the circle with his OA sash and I smile to him before the ceremony starts. Nutikent's voice booms with the same solemnity and reverence at my Brotherhood Ceremony as he did last night at the Pre-Ordeal Ceremony. As I listen to the ceremony, Nick tries to catch my attention and gives me a thumbs up, proud of me for sealing my membership in the same Lodge he did years ago. I can see the pride in his eyes and it warms my heart after spending the day mostly without Evan or Sean. The Order song sounds much better tonight with people more familiar with the tune singing it with me.

“Baby bro!” Nick Steps forward and hugs me after the ceremony. He’s 24, two years out of college, and works as a youth counselor. We look somewhat alike, but he has darker brown hair with a beard and has put on a bit of weight since his days as a youth member of the BSA. Nick is a Vigil Honor member of our lodge and has a special sash with an extra triangle on the arrow compared to the new sash I was just given as Brotherhood. While he is now with a unit in another council, he seems to be with familiar faces and is always welcome back here at his home camp.

“I’m so glad you drove up just for me!” I say, still crying tears of joy.

“I couldn’t miss it after I missed your Ordeal, you’re not just my baby brother now, you’re in Brotherhood! Where’s Evan?” Nick asks.

“He’s not here,” I shrug. “Rowing thing,”

“That sucks you had to do it all alone.” Nick shakes his head.

“Yeah, but I want you to meet another friend, this is Sean Cassidy, he was my Elongomat and you were also his brother’s Elongmat!” I say with a chuckle.

“What! Small world!” Nick laughs. “Daniel Cassidy then, right? I still see him on Facebook, he went to Oregon State right?”

“Yup, Danny! Sean beams. “He talked a lot about you and that you guys went to Philmont together! Are you staying for dinner?”

“Sure,” Nick nods. “I’ll just sleep overnight at home, rather than drive back to Issaquah and back up again tomorrow. You look just like Danny on his Ordeal, but you’re on the ceremonial team!”

Sean chuckles, his face lit up bright red again. “Yeah, it’s in our genes, Danny kept being mistaken for still being in high school when he was in college.”

“Listen, I’ll see you guys in the dining hall. I have to run back to my car, but I have something for you now Benji.” Nick takes a Bronze Order of the Arrow challenge coin out of his pocket and puts it in my hand. “Just got it at the trading post on the way in. If you want anything else, other than the Vigil stuff just let me know!”

“Thanks!” I turn over the coin and Nick has personalized it with my name, when I did my Ordeal, and below that, ‘Brotherhood’ with today’s date.

Sean and I follow Nick on his jog quickly back to the parking lot, and we stop at the dining hall to start our dinner. Griffin looks to have survived his day, and I walk by him and give him a thumbs up. I know Sean can’t stay that long to eat with me, as he has to prepare for the Ordeal ceremony too, but we sit together next to Griffin’s table.

As I start on some Salisbury Steak, Nick returns with a half box of Krispy Kremes. “I got them this morning in Issiquah,” He tells us. “I know it’s not your Ordeal, but maybe you can share with your friends!”

I thank Nick and offer Griffin and Sean the donuts while Nick leaves to get some food. When Nick returns, Sean and he talk about Sean’s brother Danny. I’ve never met Danny, but it seems like he and Nick were pretty close since they were on a Philmont crew together.

Paying close attention to the time, Sean looks at his watch and excuses himself as it gets close to the Ordeal Ceremony. Nick said he would stick around for that, and we walk back to the circle together after eating.

“My baby brother’s a Star Scout and a full member of the OA! Dad says we can go to PF Chang’s tomorrow for lunch and you can order your favorite. I also volunteered to pick you up tomorrow morning so he can go to church.” Nick gleams a big smile at me.

“I came up with Griffin, so we have to bring him back to Lynnwood,” I tell Nick.

“That’s fine” Nick nods his head. “To be honest I’m glad you’re good friends with Sean. I never saw that coming that you’d share the same relationship as I did with his brother. It’s great you’re close with some people outside of 165 too, because I can’t be with your troop much.”

I laugh to myself when Nick says ‘relationship’. Nick has never asked me about a girlfriend. As a youth counselor, he considers himself an ally, while my dad just automatically assumes I’m straight and bugs me about not bringing a girl home yet as Nick did in high school.

Standing beside Nick, I’m proud to show off that he is my brother as I watch Griffin’s Ordeal ceremony. I hope to sign up for Elongomat training and help with the ceremony as Sean has, but I’m not sure I’ll ever make it up to Vigil Honor like Nick. Afterward, Nick helps me carry my stuff to Sean’s stent. I don’t think he realizes why I asked to move there, and I think Sean didn’t offer any hint of our motives. I hug Nick goodbye as he leaves and Sean and I head off to get a shower before bed.

Sean and I walk back to our stent after a shower and brushing our teeth. For bed, he has on a black sleeveless undershirt and blue plaid pajama bottoms, while I have on the same adidas shorts and shirt as last night.

“I’m sorry you couldn’t come over here last night,” Sean starts to apologize to me after we are out of earshot from the people brushing their teeth. “Since you were still a Brotherhood Candidate and I’m staff for this weekend it probably would have been bad if I asked Lane last night. Now that you’re a full member, Lane probably didn’t care.”

“It was ok, I had a long day so I just got in my sleeping bag and dozed off to sleep quickly.” I look at Sean and consider asking if he wants to do what I was dreaming about all of last summer with Evan, but I don’t want to weird him out with my fantasy for outdoor exhibitionism so soon.

“Does your brother know you’re gay?” Sean glances back at me.

“Well, I’ve never told him, but I guess he has suspicions. We’re pretty close and he tells me about some of his clients at work who got kicked out by their parents for being gay. I’m just not ready to talk to anyone in my family about it, even though he would accept me instantly.” I let Sean pass by me into the stent first and close the curtain behind me as he sits on his bunk.

I sit down on Sean’s bunk with him and run my hands along the top of his green Big Agnes sleeping bag. It looks less confining than my mummy bag and I can only hope Sean is up to sharing it with me tonight.

Sean grabs my wrist next to him and looks straight at me. “Ben, you have to promise me you won’t tell anyone ever about this, I’m not out to my family either, and I told you my dad is a chair for the district.

“Of course, I won’t,” I reassure him. “My dad is an ASM too and I’ve always been worried about getting caught.”

“Wait, you’ve done stuff with other guys in scouts too?” Sean chuckles.

“Only Evan, we started by touching each other’s dicks in Webelos, but I think I like touching his more than he likes touching mine,” I say as I slowly move our hands toward Sean’s crotch.

Sean lets my hand go and crawls up into the bunk and I do the same, my bare legs and feet feeling the nylon of the top of his sleeping bag under me as I sit cross-legged on it.

“I love touching dicks and even more!” Sean tells me. “I haven’t done anything at scouts but let’s just say a lot goes on behind closed doors at drama camp. Can I touch yours?”

“Yeah,” I nod. “But you should know I’m uncut.”

Sean reaches beside his sleeping bag and pulls out a small flashlight, turning it on and shining it onto my crotch. He leans in closer then lowers my adidas dazzle shorts, his breath warm on my skin as I feel his cool hand wrap around the base of my shaft.

“Wow, it's beautiful,” he murmurs, stroking me gently. “I’m uncut too, did you know that it's more sensitive for some people?”

I let out a small moan as he continues to explore my cock, his fingers tracing the ridge of my foreskin, pulling it back and forth in a slow, sensual motion.

“Since you’re uncut too, there’s something I’ve always wanted to try,” Sean asks.

“What’s that?” I reply, still mesmerized by his soft hand making quick work of my hardening cock.

“Have you heard of docking?” Sean giggles.

I raise an eyebrow, curious about what docking entails. "Like on a boat?"

Sean grins, his blue eyes sparkling in the dim light. "It's when two uncut guys come together, and their foreskins rub against each other, creating a unique sensation. It's like our foreskins are having a dance party."

I laugh lightly, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves at the thought of trying something so intimate in the middle of camp. "Sounds interesting, but I've never done it before."

Sean nods, understanding my unease. He gets on his knees and lowers his pajama bottoms. My eyes grow wide as I watch him stick stiff dick out of the fly of his black cotton Hanes boxer briefs. “Trust me, it's amazing. It's like nothing else in the world." He says.

"Okay," I agree, my voice barely above a whisper. "Let's give it a try,"

Sean smiles warmly, his eyes full of affection. "Brave Scout," he compliments me, admiring my courage. "Now just let your foreskin gently touch mine, and you'll see."

I get on my knees and do as instructed, our foreskins sliding together in a mesmerizing exercise, a sensation I've never felt before. It's as if our bodies are communicating in a language only the two of us understand, a secret code of pleasure and trust.

As we continue docking, Sean leans forward and presses his lips against mine, our tongues touching in a passionate kiss.

The warmth of his lips sends a jolt of desire straight to my core, and I grasp the back of his neck, pulling him closer. The taste of his mouth is intoxicating, and I melt into his embrace, feeling a connection that goes beyond just physical pleasure. This is something deeper, something that has been missing from my life for so long.

As our kiss deepens, Sean gently reaches between our bodies, wrapping his hands around both of our dicks, guiding us closer together. The sensation is indescribable, an electric current zipping between us as our foreskins rub against each other, creating a unique and intense pleasure that has me enthralled.

I moan softly into Sean's mouth, my body arching toward him as I feel the inevitable climax building within me. Sean's breath hitches, and I know he's feeling it too.

As our kiss continues, our bodies shaking with the intensity of the moment, Sean's grip on our dicks tightens. I can feel the first wave of release building inside me, and I know it's only a matter of time before we both reach our peak.

“Ben, I want to taste your dick, I want you in my mouth.” Sean pleads as he backs away from the kiss.

I swallow hard, not wanting to pull away from this newfound experience, but I can’t say no to him. Nodding, I pull off my shorts completely and guide Sean down onto his back, and he eagerly opens his mouth for me, his bright blue eyes locked on mine.

Gently, I lower my shaft into his warm, welcoming mouth. Sean takes me in slowly, his skilled tongue expertly caressing the underside of my dick, as I run my fingers through his smooth, brown hair.

A wave of pleasure washes over me, and I can feel the orgasm building within me as I face fuck Sean below me. I grip Sean's shoulders, my breath coming in short gasps, and I thrust into his mouth one last time, my hips jerking as I release my spunk into the warm, wet heat of Sean's mouth.

As I watch my cum retreat from Sean's lips, I look at his eyes filled with an emotion I can't quite name. They're a warm blue now, a deep intensity that makes me want to capture it forever.

I pull out of his mouth to sit up on my knees, my dick still half-hard from sharing this moment with Sean. "Wow," I say softly, unsure what to say.

Sean just smiles up at me, still lying there with his underwear around his ankles and his face glistening with my cum. "That was amazing," he says, his voice a meek whisper.

I lean forward and kiss him again, our lips tasting each other's sweat with my cum. As I slowly get off him I notice that he's now limp, and I can't help but ask, "Did you cum?"

“No,” He smiles and coughs. “But you can touch me all you want.”

“Can we get inside your sleeping bag?” I ask.

“Sure,” Sean pulls the top of his Big Agness sleeping bag out from under us, and we both crawl inside with him still on his back. I grab my discarded adidas dazzle basketball shorts, wrap them around his growing erection, and start sliding the material back and forth.

I watch as Sean’s eyes roll back into his head in bliss, mesmerized by the slick material slipping along his sensitive cock. As he’s in my hand I look at his cock in awe, admiring his full 5 and a  half inches, and the small patch of brown hair above. He lets out a moan, his body arching off the sleeping bag slightly, and I can feel his heart beating rapidly under my touch.

I decide to take things up a notch, stroking him harder and faster. I can feel his hips bucking against my hand, and I know he's close. "Are you ready to cum, Sean?" I ask softly, my breath tickling his ear.

He nods vigorously, his eyes barely open as he looks up at me. "Yes, please," he gasps. "Your shorts feel so good on my dick."

I can't resist his plea, and let the shorts fall from the top of his cock as I bend over and slip his dick into my warm lips. I suck softly and expertly, feeling the delicate balance between the warmth of my mouth and the cold night air outside the stent. Sean moans loudly, his hands gripping the sides of the bunk as his climax builds. I can feel his cock twitching and throbbing in my mouth, and I know he's close.

"Take it all, take my cum," he chokes out, his voice barely audible. I moan around his dick, my mouth sliding up and down his shaft with reckless abandon. I can feel the cum rising, the familiar sensation of warmth and pressure building between my lips.

"I'm gonna cum, Benji," Sean warns, his voice shaking. I nod, eager to taste his release. He thrusts into my mouth one more time, and I feel the first spurt of cum hit the back of my throat. It's warm, salty, a little bitter, but so fulfilling. I suck hard, swallowing every drop and wanting more. Sean groans loudly, his body convulsing as wave after wave of orgasmic pleasure washes over him.

As the last of his cum drains from his cock, I pull away, wiping my lips with the back of my hand. I look back at Sean, who is now breathing heavily and covered in a sheen of sweat. "You’re so sweet." I smile, brushing the hair away from his forehead.

He lets out a contented sigh, his eyes closing again. "That was amazing, Benji. Thank you."

I just give him a satisfied grin and lean in, gently kissing his lips. He returns the gesture, our tongues dancing with each other in the cramped confines of the bunk. There's a moment of silence as we catch our breath, our bodies still touching and he pulls his sleeping bag over us as I lay beside him in his bunk.
