The usual disclaimers apply. This story is fictional, of course. This is my first submission. I attempted to create a full novel with a complete plot.

Chapter 12
"What have you seen?" Max asked Alice.
"Another attack around Thanksgiving," Alice said. "A large force, at least 30," she added.
"What can we do?" Esme asked. Silence fell on the room. Sean couldn't imagine losing Max and vowed to do everything he could to protect the boy at his side.
"We go to them," Max said finally. "Aro is hiding behind a near endless number of followers. He wouldn't risk another confrontation."
"Go to them? That would be suicide," Carlisle said.
"Depends on who is there," Alice smiled.
A plan was devised over the next hour and everyone seemed content. At the very least they had a plan. Jacob left to speak to the pack and see if there were any who would go along. It wasn't without risks, but everyone felt something had to be done about the threat.
The next two weeks were spent training Sean on fighting tactics and exercising his potential. He even found the ability to lift himself and move around, though he preferred the ground. By the time the two weeks of training closed Sean could down full grown trees and move them a hundred yards away. He could also manage 20 stones at a time. He found the mental strain of practice exhausting and so just found himself content to just lay with Max in his arms.
As the day before their departure dawned Sean found himself in need of a little escape. He wanted to clear his head as too many thoughts were racing through it. He explained to Max that he had to get some alone time before they left, so after kissing his boy farewell he made his way to Seattle.
He couldn't help but drive the exotic car, and with his enhanced abilities he found himself able to drive much faster than last time. He made it into the city in record time, quickly parked the car and began walking the busy streets. He marveled at all the people going this way and that. All those lives so fleeting, so temporary, so naive of what the world contained. Sean made his way into a nice jewelry store and picked out the item he came for. The clerk was head over heels at the purchase, paid in cash of course.
After wandering around a little and taking in the famous Pike Place market and all the tourists who for reasons unknown to Sean marveled at the fish throwing. He even considered using his power to push the fish just slightly so it missed its target but decided against it as he needed to save his energy.
With all the humans around him he found his throat begin to burn and decided it was time to head back. As he approached the parked Ferrari a figure walked from behind a near-by minivan. Sean smelled the man before he saw him, a sickening mixture of body odor and tobacco that was hard to ignore.
"Well, well," Said the shadowed figure, "I knew I'd see you again."
"You need a shower," Sean said calmly as the man walked up to him. He noticed the cast on the man's arm and knew instantly who he was. "Listen guys," he looked around and spotted four new cronies creeping out of their hiding spots, "I just came to get a gift for my boy and I don't want any trouble."
"The little ninja isn't here to protect you," The man laughed. "Pity."
"I was hoping you would have learned your lesson," Sean smiled, "But it seems not even a beating by an 11 year old could teach you anything." He found it easy to be calm. As a pacifist by nature he didn't want to harm anyone, but would defend himself when it came to that. And he knew it would come to that.
"Just walk away boys," Sean warned, "No one has to get hurt tonight."
"Only one of us will be hurt," The man said and pulled out a gun, by the look of it Sean guessed it was a .45.
"A gun and four cronies?" Sean asked. "A little overkill don't you think?"
"I came prepared, you know, like a boy scout," The man laughed. Sean heard a couple grunts from around him, they were getting closer.
As the sun set Sean looked around and found himself surrounded, each member of this little gang was about 4 feet from him and each had some sort of weapon.
"Why don't you hand over whatever gift you got your boy and we will make sure he gets it."
"I don't think so," Sean said. "In fact, why don't I deliver to him the promise he made to you."
"And what was that?"
Sean leaned forward slightly and smiled, "Your balls, for breakfast." His sharp eyes saw the man waver, his confidence cracking ever so slightly. The grin on the man's face twitched.
"I think not," the man said and raised his gun. The sound of the gunshot echoed through the parking garage nearly deafening everyone.
Sean felt the shot and looked down. His shirt had a nice round hole in it right over where his unbeating heart now rested. He felt the deformed metal round by his belly. He lifted his shirt out of his pants and let the spent round hit the ground with a satisfying clunk.
"Damn it, I liked this shirt," Sean said as he tucked it back into his pants. He looked at the man in front of him. The expression on the thugs face was priceless. Sean was now bored with this game though so he thought he should end it. With a quick flick of his mind he pulled the gun from the man's hand and moved it into his. With one squeeze he crushed the weapon into a ball and dropped it on the ground.
"Now, before I pull each one of you limb from limb, I will give you one last chance to walk away." Sean said as he looked at the men around him, his eyes finally landing on the leader. "And you, you stupid little man." Sean walked right up to the petrified figure, his golden eyes glinting in the light of the setting sun.
"Who... Who are you?" The man choked out.
"Someone who has every reason to kill you, but someone who chooses to let you go. My patience however, is wearing thin. So ask yourself, am I someone you ever want to see again?"
The man shook his head slowly.
"Go then, back to whatever hole you belong, and pray you never cross my path again."
Sean watched as the five men left, back into the growing shadows of nightfall.

Back at the Cullen house Sean had to tell the story of what happened. Edward picked up something right away so Sean had no choice. Carlisle was glad Sean was able to remain calm.
"I wanted to shred him," Sean said simply, "But that isn't who I am."
"I'm not sure I could have held back," Max said as he leaned into the man he loved.
"I went through a tough time once," Edward said, "Where I hunted the more evil humans."
"I can see how easy it would be for you," Sean said and poked his temple with a finger. "I sort of felt like Superman."
"We must not draw attention to ourselves," Carlisle warned.
"I know Carlisle, I know." Sean signed deeply.
As the hours drew on each member of the Cullen family found their own quiet place to spend with their loved one. Sean and Max lay in their bed; Sean had one arm under Max's head with his hand caressing the boy's smooth rump. Max had a hand on the man's chest playing with the slight amount of hair the man had there.
"I won't let anything happen to you," Sean said finally breaking the silence.
"I know," Max said and kissed the man's chest.
"I have something for you," Sean said softly.
"You are all I need," Max said.
Sean pulled a small box from behind a pillow and handed it to the boy. "You will have to get used to getting gifts I'm afraid."
Max sat up and opened the box. Inside was a sturdy gold necklace. A small heart pendant dangled from it, engraved on it was simply "Forever".
The boy was speechless. He hadn't received a gift like this in centuries. His little hands quivered as he gently pulled the chain out of the box. "Will you?"
"With pleasure," Sean smiled. He unclasped the chain and strung it around the boy's neck using only his mind.
Max smiled at the man. "You're amazing."
"You're breathtaking," Sean said and pulled the boy's face to his.

Yes, I could have written a juicy scene here, but I didn't. Don't fret, there will be other opportunities. Chapter 13 is in writing now, it's a pivotal chapter so I want to get it right.
This story is meant to be a continuation of the Twilight series. I felt the canon left potential for more and felt a boy love plot would fit nicely. All original characters of Twilight are copyright Stephanie Meyer. I tried my best to remain faithful to her characters.
