Chapter 19 Old and New Friends

Justin

"So, coach, What's up?"

"Justin, I'm going to cut to the chase. I've had this talk with you before." Once he started talking I knew where he was going. but before I could interrupt he said firmly, "No, don't even think about saying anything." "Look, you are the best quarterback I have ever coached, but you're not going to last playing the way you do. You have to learn how to play a little more conservatively. And no, your Mom did not put me up to this. I can see it myself."

"But Coach, what about the state championship?" I said, whining like a little kid.

"No Justin, don't even try. I'd love to win another state championship, but not at the expense of your health or life. So I'm saying this once and only once ... stop with the reckless playing or I'll bench your ass!"

"Ok...Ok...I'll try," I said with a smile

"You better. Now get your ass out on the field."

"Yes Sir," I said with a salute, and started to leave his office.

"Justin," he said as I turned around, "Please."

"Ok coach, I will," I said, looking serious.

"Thanks," he said as I left his office.

Brad

"HOLY SHIT!"

"Sir, do you want to calm down?" the police officer said.

"Brad, it's been like twenty minutes already and that's all you've said," Alisa said after she walked over to me and helds my hand. "Sweetheart, you just need to calm down and breathe," She said as she started to rub my arm.

"Sir, your girlfriend is right. Please just calm down."

As I heard that a sudden calm came over me. Those two words ... my girlfriend, my girlfriend. I looked into her eyes and just melted.

"See baby, that's it, "Alisa said as the officer started to take down my information now that I had calmed down. Twenty minutes later he and the insurance adjuster had all of the information and pictures for the insurance company.

"God, how am I going to get home and explain this to my parents?" I asked with a worried look on my face

"Don't worry, I'll take you home. But we have to make a stop at my house so I can change before we get to Justin's," she said as she took my hand and led me to her car.

"That's cool," I said, still holding her hand. "Alisa?" I said as she turned around. "Thanks."

"No problem Babe." She said with a smile as we continued walking to her car hand in hand, unaware that a pair of hateful eyes were watching our every move.

Alex

"Wow!" was all Charley could say. Being the winning captain and co-captain, and since we finished first on our run, our team did not have to stay around and clean up the field. We were the first to make it back to the locker room from the soccer team.

"Wow!"

"Charley, that's the tenth time you've said that."

"I don't know what else to say. For someone who stopped playing soccer you sure don't look it," he said as we reached the cage and started to change.

"Naa, my touch is off."

"Yea right, I wish I had your touch."

"Now why would you want that?" asked a voice from behind, and then someone grabbed Charley. I quickly turned around, but knew who it was before I even turned.

"Now why would you want Alex to touch you?" Joe said as he laughed, standing there while Mark held Charley.

"That...that...that's not what I said," Charley looked at me like he was afraid that I thought he said something else, and I noticed that he started stuttering.

"Let him go." I told him, not wanting to get into a fight and get kicked out of school.

"Aww, isn't that cute? Looks like Alex found a new friend, and he's so cute," Mark said, pinching Charlie's cheek

"Now Alex, what would your boyfriend Brad say?" Joe asked as I looked to see a surprised look on Charlie's face.

"Probably the same thing Mark says when you hit on other guys."

"Fuck you! I'm not a fag," Mark said, letting go of Charlie who quickly moved over to my side.

"Well neither is Brad, or I " I said as I looked over to Charlie, who seemed to be a little upset. "Are you ok?"

"Y...Y...Yea...I'll be fine." I tried to tell him to run out of the cage, but he wouldn't leave. I could handle these two Jabronies, but I didn't want Charlie to get hurt.

"I though you two would have learned not to mess with me after what I did to your boyfriend."

"Well we kind of did our math and figured out that you may be able to handle yourself in a one on one fight, but a two on one would be a bit to much for you." There was no way I was going to get out of not fighting these guys. I would just have to see that Charley didn't get hurt. Suddenly, looking behind them I noticed something

"Well I think you need to look at your math figures again as well as behind you to get the right number of people you'll be fighting," I said with a smile

"Yea right, how dumb do you think we look?" Joe asked with a smirk

"Yea Alex. I thought you could come up with something better than that. You've disappointed me."

"Well if you're disappointed now man, wait until you do turn around and see who's behind you," someone said as they turned around to see almost all of the soccer team. "If you have a problem with Alex, you have a problem with us."

"And by the way, who were you calling a pussy earlier?" The biggest guy on the team stepped up to Joe and Mark and they just walked away. "I thought so."

"Hey give my regards to Tony," I said as they walked away "Thanks guys!"

"Hey, no problem. You're part of this team now Alex," the big kid said as he started to shake my hand, a wide smile spreading across his face.

"Thanks...Ah, could I have my hand back now?"

"Oh, I'm sorry," He said as he let go of my hand, but he was still smiling.

"Do I know you?" I asked intriguingly.

"Well yes, I used to play with you a long time ago. I was a bit smaller back then...it's me Alex, it's me Jacob."

"HOLY SHIT...JACOB!"

Alisa

"Mom...Mom...Mother, I guess she's not home," I said after looking around the house and returning to Brad, who was looking so nervous.

"Alisa, are you sure it's ok that I'm here? I mean it's been a long time, I ..." Before he could finish I grabbed his hand and took him upstairs to my room.

"Okay, so here's the next part of the plan. We have to work on your kissing." He started to laugh.

" And what's wrong with my kisses?"

"Well they need to look believable, so come over and kiss me."

"Alisa you're being silly...what if your mother comes home?"

"Then she'll be happy to see you. I said kiss me."

"Alisa...we have to talk. I don't know if your plan is such a good idea."

"Why? What's wrong with my plan?" I asked as he started to get up.

"It's just that. Ah hell ...I can't do this anymore. Alisa, I've always liked you."

"And I've always liked you too, Brad," I said as I stood up and walked over to him. I knew where this was going, but I have always been afraid I would scare off Brad if I became to aggressive. "I like you, Alex and Justin."

"No, Alisa I LIKE you!"

"And I like you too," I said, smiling at him.

"No you don't get it...ah what the hell,' He said out loud, then he kissed me. Not just a kiss, but a KISS, the Kiss of all Kisses. I'm talking about the one where you see stars and earth moves and ... whoa!

"I really, really like you Alisa."

"Well Brad, you may like me but I love you." And with that I kissed him back, a long kiss as I tried to enter his mouth to feel him "I always have." Suddenly our hands were everywhere. I was pulling off his shirt and he was pulling off mine.

I gently took off his glasses and stroked my fingers across his face and looked deep into the blue pools that are his eye. I saw tears forming in his eyes as I kissed his forehead.

"When you stopped hanging out with us I thought I was going to die," he said, holding on to me as if he let go he would fall to his death. Hr looked up at me. "I wanted to do this for so long."

I put my finger to his lips signaling him be quiet. "You're safe now. I wont let anyone hurt you anymore, and I am so sorry for not being there for you. I'll never leave you again Brad, I swear to you never again." He started to cry as I held on to him.. "Shhh! It's okay now."

"Was this part of your plan?" he asked after a few minutes. "Get me to break down and confess?"

"Hey I had to do something. You know I can be a bit aggressive. I didn't want to scare you away," I said with a smile.

"You? No," he said in a sarcastic tone, then looked at me. " I love you, Alisa Margaret Simonson."

"And I love you, Bradley Theodore James Westrick." With that I kissed him again.

Suddenly my door opened after a knock and my mother walked in. "Alisa, what are your, plans...Oh my!" she said as she turned around. "ALISA, what's going on here?"
