...CHRIS'N'ME...

CHAPTER ONE - One More Chance -----------------------------------

Another summer had passed by as quickly as usual. I did the same old stuff I always did: friends would stay the night at my house or I would stay over at theirs'. We would play video games or mess around on the computer, the average lazy stuff 15-year-olds do I guess. Sometimes we would go hang around the mall, my friend Marc always liked to check out the girls there. I wasn't really interested in that but I would go along anyway, he doesn't really know that I'm gay so I didn't want any ideas to spring into his head.

Here I was, the night before the first day of the new school year, wanting summer to last just a little longer, boring though it was. The only thing I really liked about school was seeing my friends. Why else would I be there? An education? Ha, don't make me laugh. No, really though, I did pretty well in school - usually A's and B's. I wasn't a nerd or anything though; I had lots of friends. Everyone thought I was funny and the girls thought I was kinda cute. I never really thought so, but I guess we all see more flaws in ourselves than there really are. I was 5'10", 140 lbs., short brown hair, and big blue eyes - girls always commented on my eyes. Too bad for them I wasn't after girls.

My mom tucked me in and kissed me goodnight. I went to sleep wondering what 10th grade would bring. Probably just the same as all the other years, goof off and somehow manage to get good grades until the summer came again.

"James... wake up sleepyhead. You don't want to be late for your first day of school do you?" I opened my eyes and saw my mother's face standing over me. She was always good about waking me up if I slept too long. "I've got some pancakes made for breakfast so get your clothes on and come eat."

After breakfast I grabbed my stuff and headed out the door for the walk to school. It was only about six blocks away so it was no big deal to walk each day. When I got to school I saw my friend Marc standing on the front steps talking to Melanie, a girl that he liked. I said 'hi' to both of them but I didn't stay to talk. I figured Marc wouldn't want me hanging around while he's trying to talk to a girl.

I walked inside and down the stairs that led to the basement where my locker was. As I came to the bottom of the stairs I saw what must be the cutest boy I'd ever seen around here. He was about my height, same weight maybe, short blond hair. Luckily there wasn't anyone else around because they would definitely noticed that I couldn't take my eyes off him. He must when he looked up and saw me he gave a funny look and then went back to rummaging through his locker. I shook myself out of my trance and walked past him to my locker. He closed his locker up and headed out of the door into the outside hallway. I put my bag in my locker and went out the same door; maybe I could catch another glimpse of him. As I opened the door I ran right into him as he was coming in. I almost fell down backward but he grabbed my hand and pulled me up.

"Sorry about that," he said in a voice that matched his cuteness. "I forgot something in my locker so I came back kinda quick. You alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. I shoulda been watching where I was going." He had deep blue eyes and as soon as I looked into them I began staring again.

"Hello? What's wrong? Is there something on me?" he asked. Obviously he noticed that I was staring at him.

"Huh, what? Oh, sorry, guess my mind wandered for a second there." God he's cute, I wondered if he suspected anything? I'd never really looked at someone that way so I didn't know how he would take it. "Are you new here or something? I didn't see you around last year."

"Yeah, I just moved up from California with my mom. Name's Chris."

"Oh, cool. My name's James. This is my second year here. Uh, sorry about the door thing." I started to stare again but I caught myself quickly, "well, I should probably be getting to class so I guess I'll see you around."

I started to head out the door when he yelled out my name, "hey, you think you could tell me where this classroom is?" He pointed at his schedule; "I don't have any clue where to go around here."

I looked at his schedule and saw that he had the same first period as I did. This might not be such a bad school year after all. "You've got health first period too, get your stuff from your locker and we can walk up there together. I think I know where this is." I took a quick look at his ass when he bent over to reach into his locker, not bad.

He glanced back and saw me looking just before I turned away. "Maybe you can show me around here so that I know where to go for my other classes too?" He had a hopefulness to his voice that would make it hard for anyone to say no.

I smiled at him, "Yeah, I'd like that." I patted him on the shoulder and we walked out of the hall on our way to class.

When we entered the classroom I immediately saw Miss Cowlin pointing at the clock. "Do you have some ailment that prevents you from coming to class on time?" She had a totally serious look on here face and I couldn't help but mutter under my breath. I'd heard she was a bitch, and now I could see why people would say that. "I don't have any seating arrangement made up so you can sit wherever you'd like... for now." She gave both of us an evil glare so we quickly grabbed two empty seats toward the back of the room.

Class went on uneventfully. Miss Cowlin explained how she runs the class, how much work we'd be doing, and, although she didn't say it directly, how much trouble we'd be getting in.

When the final bell rang the hallway flooded with people anxious to get as far away from school as possible. It turned out that Chris was in my 2nd and 4th periods also. We run on a four period day at my school so it was kind of nice. We could go from 2nd period straight to lunch without looking for each other.

Besides being the cutest boy at the school, Chris was pretty cool. It turns out his mother and him moved up here to Seattle because of a new job opportunity she had at Interwest Bank, I guess she's a manager or something now. He liked a lot of the same stuff that I did, playing video games, talk to people on the Internet; he also liked to draw. He showed me some of the stuff he drew and it was pretty damn good. The one thing that kinda made me feel bad was the way he kept checking out the girls and commenting on them. I'd really like it if he were gay but since that's not gonna happen I wish at least that I didn't have to put on a front all the time like I do with Marc.

"So, did you meet anyone cool in your 3rd period today?" I asked him. I was in all his other periods so I didn't need to bother with those.

"Yeah, I talked to this girl named Chrissy, she seemed pretty cool. Not bad looking either," he smiled and winked at me. I felt so bad when he said that. Why did all the cute boys always have to be straight?

"Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" I asked as we walked out to the front of the school.

"Yeah, I'm gonna walk home so I guess I'll see you in the morning."

"You live close by then?" I asked in a hopeful voice.

"Yeah right over that way a few blocks." He pointed down the street and my eyes lit up. Hope I wasn't too obvious.

"Hey I live that way too, about six blocks away, maybe we can walk together." This just got better and better. I could see this kid three out of four periods a day and walk home with him, boy did I get lucky this day.

He nudged me in the arm with his elbow and said "Sure, that'd be cool. Maybe we can hang out or something." I was glad to hear that; maybe he actually thought I was cool to be around.

"Chris!" came a yell from behind us as we were about to cross the street. We turned around and I saw a girl across the front school lawn looking toward us.

"Oh, that's Chrissy, hold on a minute." He walked over to where she was and started talking to her. After a minute he waved at me and yelled out "James, me and Chrissy are gonna go do some stuff. I'll see you tomorrow morning?"

"Yeah, sure. I'll see ya tomorrow." I felt terrible, girls always get all the fun. They take all the cute boys and leave nothing for us guys who have taste enough to go after boys instead of girls. I walked off slowly, thinking maybe it would've been better had I not met Chris. I take a liking to someone and they end up meeting a girl, someone that they might like more than just a friend, and there goes one more friendship... one more chance. I got home and laid down on my bed to think about things. Why was life so hard? Why did I have to be gay? It would be so much easier if I was normal. I don't know what to do...

To Be Continued... --------------------------------------------------------------- I hope you weren't just reading this for sex and stuff, cuz that's not what I'm here to write. This is a love story, there will be sex, don't worry about that, but that's not the main point of me writing this story. This is my first attempt at a story so I'd like it if you send me comments - good or bad - please feel free to. It shouldn't be too long before the second chapter.

...CHRIS'N'ME...

CHAPTER TWO - I'M SO SORRY -----------------------------------

As I walked to school the next morning I wondered how the day would go. One part of me really wanted to see Chris but another part wanted to stay away from him because it would be so hard to know that he was lost to the girls. When I arrived at school I saw Chris on the steps talking to a friend of mine named Eric. Chris smiled as I walked up. "Hey there Eric, hi Chris," I said as I walked up. "You know each other?"

"Oh, we were just talking about the school's four period day. You see, where I come from it was six periods," Chris explained. "You know Eric then?"

"Of course, me and him have been friends a long time." We had known each other since 5th grade and I always thought he was cool. He was kinda cute too, about 5'9", a light tan, short blond hair and blue eyes. We were close friends but he didn't know my secret, I never wanted to risk ruining a perfectly good relationship.

I looked up at Chris and a flood of emotions came back to me. I loved to look at him but it was also very difficult. I thought that was odd considering I'd just met him the day before, but here I was thinking how badly I wanted this kid. Eric looked over at me and gave me a funny look when he saw me staring at Chris. "Hey, uhh, I gotta go do some stuff before school starts so I'll leave you two," said Eric. He had a strange tone to his voice that I didn't quite pick up at the time.

"Alright, we'll talk later, see ya." I said as he walked away. "Hi Chris, so what'd you and Chrissy do yesterday?" I winked at him, "anything fun?"

He laughed a cute little laugh "yeah right, nothin like that. We just hung out and she showed me around the area a little. Did you know there's a lake over that way?" he pointed off somewhere.

"Well, I've lived here all my life and I never noticed that, it must've just moved in." I answered jokingly.

He gave me an innocent little look and shrugged his shoulders, "what? I just thought it was kinda cool. We could go swimming there sometime maybe." I would definitely enjoy seeing this beautiful boy with his shirt off so swimming was something that really sounded good to me.

"So, you like this girl, huh?" I asked in an off-tone trying not to sound too concerned, although I really wanted to know.

"Yeah, I guess so. She seems pretty cool, but then again you seem pretty cool too." He looked right at me, "why?"

"Oh nothing, I was just curious."

"Well, I don't like her like THAT if that's what you're trying to ask. I'm not really into that I guess." I almost died with relief when I heard that, although I was kinda confused at what he meant by 'not really into that'. Not into what? I didn't bother to ask him, I wouldn't want him getting ideas into his head.

"So, are you and her gonna go do stuff today after school?"

"Nah, we didn't really do anything too exciting. I'd have more fun hanging out with you I bet. Maybe we could do something today?"

"Yeah! That'd be cool." I said in in a bit of an over-excited voice. "You said she already showed you around? We'll find something else to do then."

"If you want to show me around you can. You probably won't be all over me the whole time like she was, so I'm sure you'll have more to say about the area. Unless you are going to be all over me? In that case we could just go somewhere else." he said sarcastically.

"Well, if my intention was to be all over you I think you'd know it."

"Ah, so that's a yes then?" he said.

"What? Why do you say that?" It couldn't really tell if he was joking around anymore. I'd bet he was still joking though, this kid was too cute to be gay if you get my drift.

He giggled, "oh, nothing James. But uhh, whatever you want to do after school is fine with me, just so long as I don't get my clothes too dirty."

"Sounds good to me," I looked at my watch. "Oh shit, we've only got half a minute to get to class. That bitch Cowlin will hang us if we're late again." We both laughed and ran off to class. I stayed behind the whole time so I could catch a good look at Chris's ass as we ran. Every part of this kid was cute.

The day passed quick, or so it seemed. It was probably just that I was checking out Chris the whole time so time didn't really mean anything. He noticed me looking at him a couple times but either he didn't think anything of it or he just didn't say anything about it.

"So where do you wanna go?" was the question I asked him after school. "We could walk around town here, or we could go to my house and goof off."

"Your house? Sounds good to me. We could go to my house but my mom's not home. She's the type that likes to meet people before they're over without her around." He rolled his eyes.

"I know how that is, my parent's are the same way. My mom's home right now, though, so it's cool for you to come over. C'mon, let's get away from this school, I think it's cramping my style." We laughed and walked off toward my house. On the way there Chris told me about living in California.

"It's hot, crowded, and hard to find a decent date. That's about how LA is."

"Well, welcome to Seattle where it rains, it's crowded, and it's hard to find a decent date. You went from bad to bad I think, although I've never been to LA so I couldn't really say. You will understand what I mean after living here a year. In the summer it's 'why is so hot?' and in the winter it's 'why is it so cold?', we can never be content with the weather around here. Unless of course you drink coffee, in that case there's a Starbucks at least 50 ft. in any direction no matter where you go." He thought that was pretty funny.

"Well, I don't drink coffee but I think I'll like it better up here. Hell, I met you, so things are better already!. And as for a date I don't think it will be hard to find one around here," he winked at me, although it might have just been a delusion from not having enough blood in my brain. This kid was turning me on so bad, but I couldn't even tell him. I kept thinking maybe he might be hinting at something, but I was sure that it was my hormones doing the thinking - and we all know how that can be.

"Well, this is my house, not much to look at, kinda needs a paint job." We walked inside and my mom was cooking away in the kitchen. "Hi mom, this is Chris, I met him at school. He just moved up here from California and I thought I'd invite him over to mess around and have some fun."

"Nice to meet you Chris." my mom said in a nice tone. She's always nice to my friends and I was glad that she was home to meet him. "California, eh? Well, I've been there and I'll be the first to say you made a wise decision. Mind you, I do love the sun, but in moderation!" she laughed and went back to something she was fixing to put in the oven.

"Actually, you are the first to say it. James here told me I went from bad to bad. I feel a little better now at least. Whatever you're making smells good Mrs. Kennith."

"Why thank you!" She peered over at me, "James, why can't all of your friends be so polite?"

"My friends are polite! Well, actually, I guess not. But enough of that, me and Chris are gonna go up to my room." I quickly changed the subject. She was right, a lot of my friends were, to put it nicely, impolite. We walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs that led to my room. As I opened the door I realized how messy I'd left it. "Well, here's my room. As you can see it closely matches the exterior of my house."

"James!" my mom yelled up the stairs, "is Chris staying for dinner? I need to know so that I can be sure to make enough food."

I looked excitedly at Chris, "wanna stay for dinner? It's alright, my mom is a good cook, and as you can see I haven't died from anything she's made yet."

"Well, if her food will make me look as good as you count me in. I'd better call my mom at work to see if it's alright first."

What? As cute as me, was that a pass? Damn, this kid was mean! First he comes to my school looking cute as can be, and then he leads me on like this! "Well if it's looks you're after, it seems to me like you've already got that covered." I couldn't believe I said that to him! What would he think?

He just smiled and asked where the phone was. His mom didn't mind if he had dinner with us, I guess she was going to be late getting home anyway so it kind of helped her out. I turned on my computer and told him I wanted to check my e-mail and stuff before we got into anything. He just sat down on my bed and looked at me. I made the mistake of setting my Windows background to a picture of Erik von Detton. He's one of the cutest boys I've ever seen, look him up and you'll understand.

"Who's that?" Chris asked.

I'm screwed now, what do I say to that? "Umm, yeah, that's Erik von Detton. He's an actor, a good one at that." What a lame excuse, I couldn't think of anything else to say though. I waited for his response... silence. I looked over at him and he was just staring at me. "What? What did I do?"

"Oh nothing." he sounded like he was hiding something but I couldn't tell exactly what so I went back to what I was doing. After I checked I mail I turned around and there he was looking at me still.

"What is it Chris, did I do something wrong?" I couldn't figure out why he kept staring at me. You know how I'd like things to turn out but they wouldn't, so what else could it be?

"No, you didn't do anything wrong. It's me, I can't do this..." A tear came to his eye and quickly wiped it out. "I'm sorry James, this isn't gonna work. I have to go." He got up and started for the door.

"Wait, what is it? Don't leave! Tell me what it is." I pleaded to him. I didn't know what had him so upset and I really wanted him to stay.

He walked over, stopped in front of me, and looked at me. I gazed into his deep blue eyes to see if I could see anything that might give me an idea of what was bothering him. Nothing. After what seemed like hours, although it was actually only a brief few moments, he leaned down and gave me a kiss on the lips. His eyes filled with tears and he said three words that will forever stick in my mind: "I'm so sorry." With that he turned around and walked out of my room. I heard him run down the stairs and then I heard the door open and close. I wanted so bad to go after him but I was too startled. I had no idea what to do. He had just kissed me and here I was sitting, thinking of what it meant. Did he really like me - I mean, more than just a friend? Was he like that? It was even more confusing now than before.

Just then my mom came to my door. "Where was Chris going? I thought he was staying for dinner. What did you say to him?" She pressed me with questions that I really didn't want to answer.

"I guess there was something he had to do after all, so he couldn't stay for dinner. He said he was sorry," I lied. "I'll have him over again soon though, mom."

She obviously wasn't buying my story but she left it at that. After she walked out I closed the door and layed down on the bed. I layed there thinking about everything, about nothing, about what I was going to do now. Things had taken a turn for the better and the worse all at once and it was tearing me apart. I'm so confused...

To Be Continued... --------------------------------------------------------------- Plz send comments to me, I really want to know what you like about my stories and what I can do to make them better. And take into account that this isn't an all-out sex story so messages like "more sex, more sex, more sex!" will be disregarded. I could take a lot less time to write a sex story and it would definitely be easier, but that's not what I'm doing. Have patience for part three...
