.............................................................................

Pete lay back on Tiff's bed and groaned in pain. He and the others had been training. In theory the training was easy. In theory due to the fact the others all seemed to think that running and other physical exercise were needed. Tiff grinned at Pete. On impulse she lifted his shirt. "You may be complaining but the results are dreamy." Pete glared at his friend. The problem was she was right. Pete had noticed the improvements in his body. Whereas before he was just thin he was now definitely showing muscle definition. "And I'm sure I'm not the only one to notice", Tiff giggled as she ran her hand over Pete's abs.

Pete's mood changed at the thought of Greg. The last four months had been great. He and his circle had been developing well. And there had been no more attacks which they were all grateful for. Then there was Greg. Anyone who saw them thought they were perfect for each other. And honestly Greg was the perfect boyfriend. Greg took him on fun and romantic dates. Bought him cute little gifts, all of which took pride of place in Pete's room. And the snuggling up with each other among other things.

"You thinking about Greg", Tiff asked noticing the shift in Pete's mood. He nodded and sighed. "How long now"? Pete didn't have to think about it he had already counted the days. He looked at Tiff sadly, "Three weeks two days". He knew it was also fifteen hours and twenty seven minutes. He didn't tell Tiff that though. "So what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with your boyfriend", Tiff exclaimed. Tiff enthusiasm pulled Pete out of his down mood. With a grin he stood up, he hugged Tiff. "You are so right, what am I doing here". Tiff pushed him to the door laughing at his sudden mood change.

............................................................................

Derik watched as Tiff pushed Pete out her front door. He saw Pete look around and then vanish. Derik smiled to himself Pete was getting good at what he called misting. "What you grinning at", Jim came up behind Derik wrapping his arms around his boyfriend. "Just watching Tiff throw Pete out, I'm assuming she told him to go see Greg". Jim smiled, he was happy for his fifth. The pair stood there in their own thoughts. Not surprisingly they were similar thoughts about the dynamics of a circle.

Both had been told from a young age that when they formed into a circle they would have a sexual attraction to their fifth. That is unless they formed it with a family member. The family bond usually eliminated any sexual attraction. That was however not always the case. It had been explained to them that a lot of the sexual attraction was caused by the circle bond. They had also been told that some feel it stronger than others.

"What do you think he will do once this thing with Greg is over"? Derik asked randomly. Jim thought about it and then shrugged it was hard to say. "I don't know. What I do know is that he was right to give us time to have our own relationship". Derik turned in his boyfriends arms and kissed him. As was normal with the pair that turned into a full on make out session.

...............................................................................

Greg was aimlessly walking around his room. He wanted to see Pete and he didn't. The more he saw Pete the more he hated that their relationship was coming to an end. He knew it was for the best though. Pete had said that he would be moving away. And Greg was going to university. Although he had changed his preferences so that he could stay at home rather than move away. He was about to turn his computer on when he heard the door bell. He knew of only one person who would be coming to see him. With a grin he went to open the front door.

Sure enough stood at the door was his cute little boyfriend. Pete's eyes lit up as soon as he saw Greg. Without saying a word Greg pulled Pete into a tight embrace. Their embrace turned into some heavy grinding along with passionate kissing. "We should go to your room", Greg nodded and picked Pete up carrying him to his room. This was not the first time he had done so.

It was a couple of hours later as they lay on Greg's bed that Pete's sadness returned. Pete couldn't help it he started to cry softly. Greg pulled him close understanding completely why his little boyfriend was upset. Pete sniffed and pulled away from Greg as he sat up. Greg watched as Pete tried to regain his composure. Pete sniffed again and wiped his eyes. Greg watched as Pete's shoulders slumped, he was about to say something, however Pete got in first. "I'm sorry Greg. I don't think I can do this anymore. I know I said formal". Pete couldn't finish he looked at Greg with tears in his eyes. Greg didn't hesitate he pulled Pete back into a tight embrace. "Don't be sorry Pete. Just don't break up with me yet. I know the next few weeks will be hard." Greg didn't finish as he felt tears well up in his own eyes at the thought of losing Pete.

Pete lent into Greg and kissed him softly. "I won't, I don't think I can. Let's make it last as long as we can". Greg nodded understanding what Pete was saying. The pair didn't say anything else they just lay in each other's arms treasuring every moment they had with each other.

.............................................................................

Over the next three weeks Greg and Pete were inseparable. It had gotten to the point where Pete wasn't focusing on training with the others. The pair's friends and family were a little worried. However they had all warned the pair against their plan from the beginning.

Pete sat with Tiff at the graduation ceremony. The formal would be that night. Tiff looked at her best friend he had red puffy eyes. She knew that Pete and Greg would officially break up at the end of the formal. All she could really do was hold his hand and be a shoulder to cry on. Pete clapped and cheered as his Elementals graduated. When it came time for Greg's turn, Pete couldn't sit there and watch. He stood and bolted, causing a stir among the other students.

Greg watched as Pete bolted, he wanted to go after him. Tiff indicated for him and the others to stay. It was after all their graduation. As she exited the hall she saw Pete sat under a tree. He had pulled his legs up and his head was resting on his knees. His long black hair falling around him. Tiff was grateful that he hadn't misted away. Tiff didn't say anything she just rain her call slim finger through his hair and rubbed his back. Tiff no longer felt the need to be chatty and cheerful all the time. That aspect of her personality had gone when she had finally noticed she was now slender and curvy.

Pete looked up at Tiff. He didn't have to say thank you she could see it in his eyes. Tiff had known this was coming Pete had been way to happy lately. Tiff gently pulled Pete to his feet. "Come on we need to make you stunning for tonight. Which is going to be hard to do with red puffy eyes". Her comment got a small smile from Pete. Tiff quickly sent the five boys that would undoubtedly be worried about Pete a text telling them she was taking Pete home and that she would have him ready for the formal.

..............................................................................

Greg watched Pete bolt. He wanted to go after him. However knew that he had to stay for the graduation. He saw how Pete's friends all reacted to Pete bolting, they clearly also wanted to go after him. Greg wasn't surprised by the others reaction. He wasn't sure why they were all such close friends. But he was grateful that Pete had them in his life. It was Tiff who was able to go after Pete. Greg was happy to see her go. If anyone could calm Pete down it would be Tiff.

Derik walked over to Greg who was talking to some of his own friends. "Tiff sent a text, she said that he had calmed down and that she would have him ready for tonight". Greg nodded grateful that Derik had told him as he had left his own phone with his parents. Derik turned to leave, "Derik. Can we talk"? Derik turned back around and nodded once. Greg indicated for Derik to follow him to a more private place.

"Derik do you know if Pete is going to be ok". Derik saw how desperately Greg wanted him to say that Pete would be fine. "Honestly I'm not sure. Pete has been through a lot. I do know that in the time he has been with you he has been really happy". Derik smiled at the pleased expression on Greg's face. "He will always remember you Greg. No matter what happens you are someone important to him". Greg nodded happy with what Derik had said. And knowing that he would always treasure the time he had with Pete.

.............................................................................

Pete looked in the mirror. He had cut his hair again so now it was at its shoulder shaggy length. Tiff had artfully styled it to obscure part of his left eye and that side of his face. He was pleased with the slim fitting black pants that hugged his ass. The yellow gold coloured shirt and the plain black vest. There was a jacket as well, however Pete had decided against it.

"Now for your face", Pete looked at Tiff in shock as she started to pull out different cosmetics. He hesitated for a moment. "Um, you don't think all that's just a bit much", Pete looked at the cosmetics pointedly. Tiff made her eyes go very wide and innocent. "Not at all, you are pretty without. However all those bitches will be out to show just how much prettier they are then you. Do remember you took a very hot male of their market. Now is the time that you prove to them just how beautiful you really are". Tiff said all this with an air of sincerity. Pete still looked at the cosmetics with hesitation. "Sit your cute ass down and let me work my magic". It was clear that Tiff was done with indulging Pete's masculinity.

Tiff wouldn't let Pete see what she was doing. After she was done she let him see. Pete was impressed. Tiff had done a flawless job. What she had done was so subtly if you didn't know you never would. The only obvious stuff was around his ice blue eyes. Tiff had used heave eyeliner and mascara. "Well what do you think"? Pete grinned and hugged his friend. "In that case I pronounce you ready for the ball". Tiff waved an imaginary wand, Pete laughed at her antics.

..............................................................................

Tiff left leaving Pete alone in his room. He wasn't alone for long Nicole joined him. Nichole smiled at Pete, "You look really good". Pete smiled and nodded, "I take it this is Tiff's work", and again he grinned and nodded. "She insisted that I out shine everyone else. Her words were to make all the bitches see just how pretty I am". Nichole laughed at that, she loved Tiff and how the girl had bought Pete out of his depression. "Well I think you should at least glow a little". Pete's eyes went wide and then he grinned. He released a small amount of the control he had over his power. Instantly he seemed to take on a glow. Nichole smiled sweetly, "Now you will out shine all of them". The pair laughed.

...............................................................................

The formal was held at a very nice venue not too far away. The Venue had some nice gardens attached to the dining area. It also had a large outdoor dance floor. Pete looked over at Greg in the limo that he had hired for them. Greg was stunning, tall well built, light tan dark hair stylishly short, and warm brown eyes you could melt into. "I'm sorry about the graduation", Pete said in a voice only just above a whisper. "Don't worry about it, the important thing is your here now and your stunning". Pete smiled at Greg's response, the pair lent into each other and kissed softly.

The night was perfect. The food the dancing the atmosphere. Pete lost himself to the romance of the night. Tiff had been right a lot of the girls looked amazing. Still they didn't look as good as Pete. Pete's advantage was that he wasn't just pretty on the outside he was just as beautiful inside.

As the night ended Greg drove Pete to the park they had first met. Pete looked at the bench he had sat and cried on the day that Greg had been there for him. "It seems fitting to end where we began", Greg said sadly. Pete nodded, the pair embraced and kissed passionately. Both wishing that their relationship could go on. Pete knew, he knew there was no way for it to work. Greg was not part of his world and would never be. Greg brushed away Pete's silent tears. "I love you Greg, I always will". Greg was surprised at Pete's admission. He was now even more confused as to why Pete was sticking to the original plan. "I love you too, and always will, it doesn't matter to me how far away we are or who else we meat I will always love you".

"How touching", a cold voice said from the darkness. "What do you think boys, will we kill the little fifth and his normal". There was the sound of agreement from what Pete assumed were four others. "Greg, I need you to do something for me". Greg looked at Pete and saw his eyes flash like lightning was behind them. Greg nodded, starting to feel worried. "Greg I need you to run when I tell you. I need you not to hesitate and not to look back. Just run ok". Greg was scared by the tone Pete was using. All he could do was nod.

"So the faction reveals it's self again. You know the guild will always be there no matter what power you may gain". Pete spoke with a cockiness he didn't feel. The darkness was filled with a cold laugh. Laughter was coming from a tall built man with a cold indifferent expression. Pete glared at the man, "Well aren't you a pretty little thing", the man said with an evil grin. Pete looked at Greg, "Run, find the others". Pete tried he deflected attacks on Greg as best he could. It was all for nothing.

Pete watched as three elemental attacks struck Greg. Pete turned to the other fifth. "He had nothing to do with this. He was a normal with no power. You and your kind disgusted me. Using power in such a low way". The other male fifth laughed at Pete. Pete focused and stared at the other fifth. "Tell me how close a bond do you have with your elementals. I'm guessing you don't". With that Pete summoned a power he had never used before. "Elemental blast", Pete said in a calm voice.

Pete directed it at the closest Elementals. They fell quickly. The Fifth that Pete faced looked furious at the deaths of his elementals. Pete felt their last thoughts. The thoughts were not of regret, they were of happiness. The elementals had been happy to be released from the bond they had with their fifth. Pete looked at the other two and smiled warmly. He engulfed them in pure light. The pair sighed in ecstasy at their release. Pete turned to the other fifth. "They hated you and everything you stood for". Pete sneered at the other fifth. The other fifth looked around and clearly realised he was out matched. "They don't matter, but tell me pretty boy how does it feel to lose your boyfriend". Pete went pale and felt sick, had he really won or was the cost to high.

..............................................................................

Derik and the others found Pete with Greg's head in his lap. Pete was sobbing, the four realised instantly that Greg was near death. "I can't save him. I can never save them". Pete sobbed, he was clearly beyond consoling. Derik approached and wrapped his arms around Pete. "Perhaps there is nothing you can do by yourself. But you have us your circle, and we all love you. And we want you to be happy. It kills us when you're sad or anger or just upset". Pete sobbed and lent back into Derik. "There is nothing we can do for him he is dying" Pete sobbed.

Si Gently laid his hand on Pete's shoulder. "There is one thing we can do. However the guild would kick us out if we did". Pete looked at Si hopefully. "Fine. We each give a small part of our selves to him. And by selves I mean a small part of our power". Pete looked at the others hopefully. The others couldn't resist they all loved Pete too much.

They each approached Greg and laid their hand on him. Each released a small amount of energy into the still form of Greg. Last was Pete who released a great deal of power into Greg. As he did so he whispered Eternal light.

As he sat back Pete saw the colour return to Greg. As well as the life. The five placed Greg on a bench. Pete said his final good bye with a kiss softly on Greg's lips. Greg's eyes fluttered open. Pete looked into them for what he thought was the last time. "I will love you always", he said as he kissed Greg once more. Greg sat up and was able to say, "As will I my little love". It wasn't the good bye either wanted. It was however the best they could do.

.............................................................................

Pete was sat on Derik's Bed. "Ok we are the only ones who know what really happened with Greg. And as such we all know it needs to stay hidden". Si said with finality. The others all nodded, they all knew the guild would not like what they had done changing a normal in the way they had. "Now all we can hope for is that Greg remains normal". Si continued. Pete sat there and though that it was very unlikely that Greg would be unchanged. "Even if all appears normal, we should be ready for any change.

Before any could respond there was a sudden chill to the room. Before any could say anything a stranger spoke up. "Matters have changed at an unexpected rate. This circle is required to present its self to the high circle tomorrow at noon". With that the man vanished again. The five looked at each other it appeared things were changing much faster than expected.
