Home Is In Your Arms
Chapter 6
Milen
Saturday came in the form of a dark and rainy day. I awoke and when I looked at the bedside clock, I saw that it was a little after 8:00 A.M. in the morning. I felt Kyley shift in his sleep, then turn more on his side. He had been draped across me and I could feel his erection pressed in to my lower abdomen; I could have went on feeling him and it against me all morning!
When he turned on his side, he opened his eyes, then motioned at the bedside clock. He looked at me as I stroked his hair away from his face.
"It's after 8:00 A.M.," I said. "We don't have to be up for a while, and my parents are still asleep as well."
"I just need to use the restroom," he said. "Then I'll go back to bed for a bit."
After he did his business, he returned to bed, and I took him back in my arms, and held him as he fell asleep again. I was thinking of how much I loved him, and I knew deeply within who I am that I loved him, not just romantically, but as a person and as a best friend! Soon I drifted off as those thoughts went through my mind.
Later when we awoke again, it was after 10:00 A.M. and the rain was falling down hard enough so that when I looked out the window, the rain was going sideways, and I turned to Kyley who was sitting on the edge of the bed watching me.
"Not much to do outside today," I said walking towards him. "We'll have to keep ourselves entertained inside today."
"That's no problem at all," Kyley replied. "I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever we do inside."
We got breakfast, and then my mom and dad left to check in on a few patients and Elena had been at a friend's house for a couple of hours by that point. So it was just Kyley and I, and I was glad to have a little more alone time with him!
We watched a couple of Metal concerts on YouTube. One was a concert of Cannibal Corpse, and the other was a concert of Night Wish. Kyley hadn't listened to too much Cannibal Corpse, but I had and he loved the other stuff by them that he hadn't heard until that point.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it," I said.
"Me too," he replied.
After that we watched a few series that had been uploaded to YouTube that had originally been on other TV networks. One show we watched a couple of episodes of was of the show titled the Hitchhiker that used to be on USA after having moved there from HBO back in the 1980s, then we watched a couple of episodes of the show titled Swamp Thing that was also on USA, and had begun on there in 1990. After they were finished, we sat on my bed and Kyley was expressing amazement about the shows, and how well the stories were told in both of them.
"I like how they handled Dr. Arcane's character in Swamp Thing," Kyley said. "They gave him just enough darkness that his evil was believable, but it wasn't to the point where no one would take him seriously."
"Yeah, I enjoyed that as well," I replied.
"I also like how they give kind of a moral lesson at the ends of the Hitchhiker Episodes," Kyley went on. "I like how they have a twist ending to some of them as well."
"Yeah, me too," I agreed. "It looks like they got their inspiration for the Hitchhiker from older shows like the Twilight Zone, because that show would be told in a similar format with a few twist endings and would have moral lessons as well."
"I'll have to check that show out at some point as well," Kyley said as he put an arm around me.
"Yeah, that would be nice to watch a few episodes of that as well sometime," I replied.

The time had come. That rainy Saturday was one that was quiet, but most of the staff was distracted, and the kids were off doing their own thing, at least that was true for the ones who weren't being punished for something. I had made my mind up to escape from the institution a few days before after I had been beaten again by one of the guards for saying that I didn't like what we were having for dinner.
I decided that I would make my move once lunch came around, and that was coming up. I decided on Saturday since there would be a lot of coming and going, and now it was time. I decided to add something to insure that I could get out undetected.
Once the kids began rushing in to the dining hall, I went up to one of the kids.
"Hey, Devin over there said that he wanted to suck your dick," I said.
I had said this to Arthur, one of the guys who was at the top level of the program. He was an out-spoken anti-LGBT bigot, and Devin wasn't necessarily better than he was so I had no fear about playing them off one another. Like I suspected, he took what I said at face value, and then in three quick steps, he was right in front of Devin, and screaming in his face.
"I didn't say nothing like that!" Devin screamed back.
Arthur shoved him, and Devin put up his fist and punched Arthur in the jaw as hard as he could. Instead of stopping Arthur, this only enraged him further, and now they were on one another, and other kids with what I suspected was their own bottled-up rage were getting in the middle of the fight. Staff were around them now yelling and trying to pull kids off of other kids, and as that was going on, I saw my chance. I ran for the door at the end of the hall far away from the dining hall, and as I neared it, a guard was walking towards the hall. I quickly ducked in to a doorway, and watched him near the same door I had just been running towards a moment ago. He unlocked it, but then his radio went off. He ran towards the dining hall, forgetting to lock the door and I smiled.
Not missing my chance, I ran for the door, and slammed it open. Since he had used his card on the door's lock, the alarm at least for a moment had been deactivated, so that was perfect! I ran until I got to the staff parking lot, and I looked in to the windows of each car, and then I saw what I hoped would be useful. In one of the cars on the passenger seat was a phone, what looked like a wallet and some loose change.
I tried the door, but it was locked, so I wrapped my fist in my shirt and hit the glass as hard as I could. It shattered, and I reached through, and took the phone, wallet and change, then ran!
I didn't stop running until I was several blocks away from the center, and when I looked in to the wallet I saw that there was almost $100.00 in there, then as I looked on the phone's GPS app, I saw that I was actually in Sangger where I had originally lived, and where Milen still most likely lived. After I put the phone and wallet in my pockets, I began running until I reached an area of the street where several cabs sat. I opened the door to one of them, and let the guy know where I needed to go. I had heard of a church that was LGBT-friendly, that I hoped to check out. This was a few days before my dad and mom decided to move from Sangger, so I never got the chance to go to it.
After the cab drove away after dropping me off there, I stood before the doors and after listening to make sure I didn't hear the sounds of police cars looking for me, I went in.
Inside it was lit with a warm glow, and there wasn't anyone in there, at least I didn't think there would be.
I sat down on one of the pews, and then tried to think of what to do next.

I parked my car at the back of the church and after shutting it off, I sat there until the rain stopped. I knew that it would probably be back, as it had been raining off and on that day, and hard. For now though the rain had stopped, and so I got out of the car, and closed then locked the door. Once going to the house that my dad Risto and I shared also at the back of the church, I unlocked the door and came in to the warmly-lit house. My dad was at the stove finishing lunch, and turned, then got a surprised look on his face at me being home as early as I was. I had been with a couple of friends like usual on Saturdays, but unfortunately on that day they were getting heavy with the sex jokes and talking about which "Chicks" they liked and what they'd like to do to them if given the chance. They knew that I was gay, but then they would just switch genders, and ask me if I was getting any ass from any hot guys. They knew I didn't like people talking about guys or girls that way, and when it would get heavy with that kind of talk enough, and it usually did then I would leave for a bit.
It had happened that day, so I was home earlier, and my dad must have picked up on what had happened.
"I have enough here for you as well," he said after we hugged.
"Thanks," I said sitting down. "It looks good."
"You're welcome, and I hope you like it," he replied sitting a plate in front of me.
He sat down across from me, and we ate in silence for a moment, then he spoke.
"Was it your friends?" he asked. "Were they getting on your nerves again?"
"Yeah," I said after swallowing a bight of my food. "They were just being them."
I said this last part and smiled, but was still a little annoyed.
"They truly don't get that I don't think like that, and that I'm wanting to date someone, and before that get to know them as a friend," I said. "They definitely don't get that I don't want to do anything sexual with anyone unless or until I'm in a relationship. I don't get how people think about sex and relationships these days."
"I know," my dad said understandingly. "I'm glad you're sticking to the morals I brought you up with, and I do hope you find someone special, that you can share your life with soon."
"So do I," I replied.
After finishing the lunch my dad had made which was a couple of chicken wraps with some salad made from cucumbers, tomatoes and onions, I went around to the church, and went in. After lighting a couple of the votive candles, I sat down in one of the pews for a couple of minutes. This was a special time for me at certain points of the day, and I would do this on Saturdays from time to time to relax myself and to get my mind organized again. It worked, and I always left feeling like I would be centered throughout the rest of the day.
I was 16 at that time, and was mature for my age. My dad had helped with that in terms of how he brought me up, and it wasn't lost on me how hard he worked to raze me. I loved him for that, and he was the only parent I had most of my life. My mom left shortly after I was born, and even signed over all of her parental rights, and it hurt from time to time, but having my dad there helped me with any of those feelings, and as I got in to my teen years, I didn't think about it as much.
When I was 12 and came out as gay to my dad when we were alone in the house after a gay couple who were friends of his left after lunch on one particular rainy Sunday, he was accepting, and he hugged me and just held me for a while. I wasn't scared or upset while he held me, but comforted more than I could describe in words. He supported me all that time and even supported me now. When I told him that I wasn't looking for a relationship until I was a little older, he was supportive of this, and I was glad to have his support.
After I came back to my surroundings, I stood up and after turning to my right, I saw a figure sitting in one of the pews across from where I had been sitting. I looked closer and saw that it was a boy who looked about 15 or 16, but still looked a little younger than that.
He had hair that looked like it was blond, and he had on glasses that looked like they had dark-thick frames, and I couldn't see his eyes yet to tell what color they were.
He looked my way, then I walked over to where he was.
He shrank back in his seat trying to make himself smaller.
"Hi," I said. "How are you? Do you need anything before I leave?"
He sat there for a moment, then looked up at me.
"I need," he began, but then I could see that he was trying to keep from crying.
I walked closer and sat down beside him. He was losing the battle, and I gently took his glasses off, then put them on the seat beside me.
He wrapped his arms around me and held on tightly.
"I'''I'''I''', I need," he couldn't finish.
"It's okay," I said. "I'll just sit here with you for a while, then we'll figure out whatever is going on."
After he stopped crying, he let go of me, and I gave him some tissues.
"Thanks," he said as he wiped his eyes.
"Sorry," he said. "I didn't think I'd fall apart like that. I'''."
His words were interrupted as a phone began ringing.
"Shit!" he yelled, then looked embarrassed. "He pulled out the phone, and clearly he didn't know the number that showed up on the display. He turned off the phone, then put it on the seat beside him.
"Wrong number?" I asked.
"Something like that," he said looking down.
"Did you run away from somewhere?" I asked.
I hadn't known I was going to ask it, but something in me knew that this boy wasn't here just to enjoy some alone time with God or whoever he believed was up there.
He jumped up, and ran from between the pews.
"I have to go," he said as he ran towards the doors of the church.
"Wait!" I said trying to keep him from running outside.
I caught up to him, and put a hand on his shoulder. He tried to pull away, but I held on, and gently but firmly turned him to face me. He let himself be turned around, but I could feel him shaking with fear.
"Please don't turn me in!" he begged close to tears again. "Please just let me go! I'll leave, and you can just forget you ever saw me!"
"Stop," I said firmly, then took him in my arms again. "You're safe here, and I'm not going to report you to anyone, and you're not going anywhere. I'm here for you, and as I said before, whatever is going on we'll figure it out."
Author's Notes
I figured that this would be a good place to stop for now. In the next chapter, Todor and Nathan talk, and Nathan tells Todor his story. Also, Milen gives his performance at the talent show, and so those are the main events for the next chapter. Everyone have a good evening, and I'll see everyone in Chapter Seven.
