*OPENING GREETING - I am SUCH an idiot! Here I am just getting back from vacation and I go to write the next chapter of this story and I realized that I hadn't sent #7 before I left! I'm soooo sorry! I left you guys hanging for nearly 3 weeks! SOOOO sorry once again. Please forgive me =)
Thanks for all the e-mail I got though. A whole ONE e-mail! Come on guys! How do you expect me to stay motivated if it looks like only a couple people are reading this thing! Pleeeze =) Send me some e-mail. I love to read it. ItsGonnaBeMeStory@yahoo.com
Enjoy!*
*DISCLAIMER - You know it. You hate it. But everyone has to do it. I am in no way affiliated with anything to do with NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys and I am totally unsure of any of their sexualities. Except Kevin and Brian. (Honestly I hope that Brian's future marriage is a cover up but, well, whatever! Hehe - Think about it though! One of them has to be gay! You don't spend 5 years on a bus with 4 other hot guys and not get a little curious! LOL) I do not mean to imply that any of the boys are gay even though it might seem like it in the story. Blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda, let's get on with the good stuff!
********************* It's Gonna Be Me - Part 7 *********************
Everyone was off to the venue. The backstreet boys sat in one long stretched limo, anxious to reach their destination. The boys of NSYNC sat in another limo with Britney Spears. JC, Joey and Chris sat on one of the benches facing Britney, Justin and Lance who had his head resting on Justin's shoulder. Justin draped his arm around Lance's shoulder. He could tell that Lance was still upset about the fact that they would be seperated for most of the tour...and he would spend that time apart with none other than Brian.
Justin moved his hand to Lance's cheek and gently stroked it.
"Awww! How cute are you two?" Britney cooed as she looked at the two love birds.
Justin laughed a bit and continued to stroke Lance.
"I'm really nervous Just." Lance said quietly as he lifted his head from Justin's shoulder.
"I told you before Scoop, you're gonna do great as always..." Justin reassured him.
"Thanks hun." Lance said and placed a quick peck on Justin's smooth lips.
The limo pulled to a stop and Britney reached over to the door and opened it.
"Ladies first!" She laughed to herself and stepped out followed by Lance, Justin, JC, Joey and Chris.
Justin looked around and noticed the Backstreet Boys standing on the sidewalk waiting for them. Everyone walked in the back entrance of the building and made their way to the given dressing rooms.
Justn walked into his dressing room followed by Lance. Lance's stride was cut short by JC's arm.
"What are you doing Lance?" JC asked.
"Uh, let me think... going to get changed for the show?" Lance replied sarcasticly.
"Uh, let me think... don't be a smart-ass!" JC responded in the same sarcastic tone that Lance had given him. "This isn't your dressing room. There are three rooms for us at this venue and look..." JC pointed to a sign posted outside the door. "...you're not in this room."
Lance's jaw dropped when he read the sign: * Justin Timberlake * Brian Littrell * Nick Carter *
"What the -" He started. "Ok... this is re-god-damn-diculous! As if this is the real thing" Lance stared in disbelief.
"Lance what is it?" Justin asked as he walked out of the room.
"Look!" Lance said pointing to the sign.
Justin sighed and hugged Lance "It's ok Lance... it's only one show... you'll be fine sweetie." Justin gave Lance a short-lived kiss on the lips.
"I'll miss you Just." Lance said sadly as he began to walk away.
"Love you..." Justin said quietly.
"Ditto times ten." Lance smiled and waved.
Nick and Brian walked down the hall and noticed their names on the wall.
"Wow, Nick. How did you pull this one off?" Brian laughed.
"I didn't Bri! Management must have actually done it this time!" Nick laughed along. "This is too perfect."
Lance peaked his head out into the audience and his knees began to get weak. He saw that the stadium was not yet full but even 2 hours before the show there were still many fans awaiting. He got dizzy for a moment and stumbled backwords.
"Woah, Lance. Watch your step there buddy!" Brian laughed as he caught Lance.
"Don't touch me Brian!" Lance snapped as he jerked away.
"You're welcome..." Brian said sadly and walked away with his head hanging low.
"What's wrong with you?" Nick stopped Brian in the hallway.
"This is impossible Nick. Lance will never love me. He doesn't even like me! He never will!" Brian choked out.
"Calm down Bri. I'll think of something." Nick gave Brian a small hug.
"I got it!" Nick said with a smile.
"Justin, we need to talk." Nick said as he approached Justin at the side of the stage.
"I have nothing to say to you Nick..." Justin avoided Nick's eyes. "Besides, I can't. Lance asked me to help him warm up and I'm already late."
"Justin, please. Atleast listen to me..." Nick pleaded.
"But, Lance.." Justin was cut off.
"For Christ sakes, Lance knows how to sing. This is a little more important Justin!" Nick could've kicked himself for taking such a strong tone with Justin.
"I'm... I'm sorry Just-Justin... I didn't mean for it to come out like that. But, will you please just listen to me for a bit?" Nick begged quietly.
"Just make it quick." Justin sighed and sat on a nearby stool.
"Thanks, Just." Nick smiled. Justin continued to avoid eye contact.
"Listen, about what happened the other day... I really am sorry. I didn't mean for it to go that far.. or for it to happen at all. I just let my body take control over my mind. You know I'm a nice guy Just, and you know that I wouldn't intentionally do anything to hurt you..."
"No I don't." Justin interrupted. "I don't know you well enough to know that you'd never hurt me."
"Well I wouldn't. Trust me." Nick smiled.
"I can't do that Nick. Not after what happened." Justin frowned.
"Are you saying you won't even try to be my friend?" Nick felt his heart shatter.
"I might just be saying this because of all that has happened... but, no. Not right now. Eventually yes... but right now I just kind of have to avoid you..." Justin tried to explain.
"Well that's going to be a little hard to do considering we're on the same bus together." Nick kept a solemn look on his face.
"Not for long." Just looked up finally.
"What - what are you talking about?" Nick stood confused.
"I'm going to talk to management after the show tonight. I need to be with Lance. I can't be seperated from him for so long..."
"It's only when you're on the bus Justin!" Nick nearly shouted feeling hurt.
"Nick, you know we spend nearly half the time on a bus travelling... and I can't be without Lance... and I can't be with you." Justin turned his eyes to the floor once more.
Nick stood speechless for a few seconds.
"Justin... I know what I did was completely and totally wrong and I would go back and change what happened in a heartbeat if I could. But I can't. Now all I can ask is for you to forgive me and give me a second chance. I'm begging you Justin." Nick pleaded.
"Why does it mean so much to you?" Justin asked out of curiosity.
"Because.. because I like you Justin.. a lot. You know that." Nick starred at the ground. "And I can't just sit back and let you hate me. I'll do anything for you to atleast be my friend."
Justin thought for a moment. "Okay Nick. I forgive you... but that's all I will be.. just a friend."
"Thank you." Nick smiled. He turned to walk away but then stopped himself.
"Justin?" Nick asked.
"Ya?" Justin looked over to him.
"Why didn't you stop me if you didn't like it?" Nick inquired boldly.
"What?" Justin asked bewildered.
"When I, um, kissed you... on the bed. Why didn't you stop me?" Nick expanded.
"Nick, you were all over me, I couldn't stop you and - "
"You could've stopped me Justin..." Nick corrected him.
"Nick... I was confused. I didn't know what to think when you told me you had feelings for you and I had always had a little crush on you before I got with Lance and... well... I don't know what happened... but I totally regret it." Justin explained.
"You do?" Nick felt hurt.
"Of course Nick. I love Lance with all my heart and there's nothing that can tear us apart."
'That's what you think' Nick thought over in his head.
"Where is he?" Lance said out loud to himself as he said on the edge of a black leather couch in a small room.
"Where's who?" Brian asked walking towards Lance and plopping down on the couch next to Lance. He threw the backpack he had beside the couch.
"I'm just waiting for Justin, Brian...he was supposed to meet me so he could help me warm up for the show... I'm really nervous." Lance said trying to act normal around Brian.
"Well.. I could always help you Lance." Brian offered.
"Ha, ya right." Lance laughed falsely.
"What, you don't think I'm a good singer?" Brian laughed a bit.
"Oh, shut up!" Lance laughed back. "You have an incredible voice Brian.
"Well thank ya, you're not too shabby yourself." Brian smiled as he spoke in his wonderful country accent.
"So what do you say? You want me to help you or should we wait until the show for you to screw up?" Brian playfully punched Lance in the arm.
"Um... ok, I guess so." Lance said unsure.
"Alright... well here... how 'bout we sing 'I Want It That Way' since we're doing that all together for the closing?" Brian suggested.
"Sure" Lance agreed.
Brian cleared his throught, as did Lance. "Tell me why" Brian sang.
"Ain't nothin' but a heart ache" The two sang together. "Tell me why, ain't nothin' but a mist - " Lance went flat and quickly got frustrated.
"It's okay buddy, that happens to the best of us." Brian smiled. Lance returned the smile.
"Here, I have a little secret trick that helps me every time something like that happens to me... now repeat after me." Brian stated. "Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do." He sang.
Lance gave Brian a strange look but did as Brian said.
"Good!" Brian said to Lance like he was five years old.
"Now, sing with me... Doe, a dear, a female dear.." Brian started.
"I am not singing that song Brian." Lance laughed.
"Lance, come on, it's like the only song where you hit every note possible. Trust me!" Brian stated.
"Whatever you say Bri." Lance laughed.
"Doe, a dear, a female dear. Ray, a drop of golden sun..." The two sang together in harmony until the song ended.
Lance looked at Brian and tossed his head back with laughter.
"You think this is some big joke, don't ya boy?" Brian tried to keep a straight face. "Oh, ya, well try this wise guy"
"Tell me why" Brian sang. "Ain't nothin' but a heart ache" Lance joined in. "Tell me why, ain't nothin' but a mistake, tell me why. I never wanna here you say, I want it that way." Two ended the chorus and it sounded great.
"See!!" Brian said excited.
"I cannot believe that stupid song worked!" Lance laughed.
"I told ya, didn't I?" Brian flashed Lance a wacky smile.
"Do you wanna rehearse a bit more? I think I need to." Lance said.
"Sure. What song?" Brian asked.
"Um... 'This I Promise You'... I'm having some trouble with that one for some reason." Lance replied.
"Oh, I love that song. Too bad Backstreet couldn't join in on that one for the tour." Brian smiled.
"Ya, it's a great song." Lance smiled back. "It's going to be hard practicing without the music though."
"Oh, I've got just the trick." Brian giggled and reached beside the couch to where his backpack was.
"You're just full of tricks aren't you." Lance said semi-seriously.
"More than you know." Brian smirked. He pulled out a portable CD player and popped open the top to make sure the correct CD was in.
"You're listening to our CD?" Lance asked kind of shocked.
"Ya, it's a great album!? And who says I can't listen to it?" Brian laughed.
"No one.. I just was a little shocked, that's all." Lance explained.
"Ok, well here, try this. Put one side of the headphones on and keep the other off so you can hear yourself. Turn it up really loud so I can hear it too." Brian giggled.
Lance did as Brian said and pressed play. The music came blaring through the headphones and Lance quickly pulled them away from his ear.
"Not that loud." Brian smiled.
"Ya, ya.. ok you sing it all.. I only come in at the chorus and some of the harmonies." Lance told him.
"Sure thing." Brian replied.
"When the visions around you bring tears to your eyes, and all that surround you are secrets and lies..." Brian sang with his eyes closed. Lance's jaw dropped as Brian's beautiful voice filled the room. His voice matched the song so well. The chorus came and Lance began to sing.
"And I will take you in my arms, and how you right where you belong till the day my life is through. This I promise you, this I promise you."
Lance pressed the stop button.
"Why did you stop it?" Brian asked quickly.
"That was so beautiful Brian." Lance said to him.
"Then why did you stop it?" Brian laughed.
"It was almost as good as Justin... almost!" Lance giggled a bit.
"Well, I guess no one compares to the allmighty Justin in your eyes, huh?" Brian asked.
"No one." Lance repeated Brian's words.
"Well, we had better go get changed for the show huh?" Lance looked at his watch.
"Ya, I guess so." Brian answered.
The two just sat there saying nothing for a moment until Lance broke the silence.
"Thanks Bri." He said kindly.
"For what?" Brian asked.
"For helping me out after I've been such an asshole to you."
"Anytime Lance... but don't feel bad at all.. I don't want you to. I've done some pretty shitty things to you, too." Brian replied.
"Who said I felt bad?" Lance laughed making Brian laugh. "I'm kidding."
"You shouldn't feel bad, really. You only left me stark naked with nothing to use as clothing, that's all." Brian laughed.
"Hey, that reminds me." Lance giggled. "I still have your clothes!"
*There you go. Sorry again for being a mindless idiot. I'm off on vacation AGAIN (believe me... i deserve it.
