Jamie Lawrence - Chapter 3
At last reaching the escalators, Jamie burst out into gales of laughter. "Did you see the look on that guys face?!" he asked Shane, doubled over and clutching his sides and grateful that he had just emptied his bladder.
"I know! For a moment, I thought he was going to ask us to do it again!" Shane wiped a tear from his eye.
After a few minutes, Jamie regained his composure and asked something he had been toying with for a while. "Hey, listen. I know that this is kind of out of the blue, but you seem to be getting the hang of the whole 'gay' thing so I thought I would ask. Do you want to go to the Prom with me?"
Shane froze mid-laugh. "Um..." He shifted uncomfortably from one foot to the other. "I don't know Jamie. That's pretty big."
"I know. I shouldn't have asked. It's too soon." Jamie held his hands up in apology. Jamie had known this before he had even asked that it was a huge request, but the past few hours had been so intense that he had lost himself. Jamie was looking awkwardly at the floor when he felt Shane's hand slip into his own. He looked up at Shane.
"You weren't planning on wearing a dress, were you?"
Jamie gave Shane a playful shove. "Shut up."
Shane sighed. "It is three weeks away. That should give me time to wrap my head around it a little. I'll go with you." He let of a short bark of a laugh. "We'll be a right sight."
"It's a shame Sam can't go; we could've doubled again."
"Why can't she?"
"It's because she's not from our school. They won't accept responsibility for her safety; especially as it's off school property. Speaking of Sam, where are those two? Screen thirteen is already showing its next film."
Shane's brow furrowed. "You don't think...you don't think they left already?"
"No, Matty wouldn't leave me with no way out of here." Jamie's phone buzzed in his pocket, scaring him half to death as it always did. The screen lit up to reveal a new message from Sam.
'Dont no y. m@ dragged me away str8 after film. Sry T xx'
"He did leave!" Jamie couldn't keep the distress out of his voice. He could feel tears building, both from fear and from hurt.
Shane scanned around himself and said in a conspiratorial whisper "Get ready to run. I'm going to turn these escalators into stairs!" He kicked the large, red 'Emergency Stop' button.
The escalators ground to an immediate stop, and a loud bell sounded from above.
"Go!" shouted Shane and they both bolted down to the ground floor. Jamie's little legs could hardly handle the size of the steps and he was thankful for the rails either side of him. He had visions of stumbling and leaving half his face in the grooves. Before long, they arrived on the ground and made a mad dash for the door, dodging a security guard as they went.
Three streets away, they finally stopped running. Jamie clutched his side and rubbed at a stitch. Finally catching a modicum of his breath, Jamie blurted out "Are you crazy?! For all I know, that was fucking illegal!"
Shane was laughing his head off. "Yeah but it was funny as hell; you have to admit!" He resumed his laughter.
Jamie fought the urge to join him. Unfortunately it wasn't going well as the truth of the matter was that Jamie had found the experience rather invigorating. He gave forth a reluctant giggle which, to Jamie's dismay, opened the floodgates to gales of laughter that he could not curtail.
Jamie and Matthew never engaged in minor delinquencies. Shane had been very close to the mark earlier when he had called Matthew 'Saint'. The fact was, Matthew never did anything wrong. He had never had a detention, nor had he ever been grounded. He achieved top marks in all of his exams and was sure to ace all of his GCSEs. He was on almost all of the school's sports teams, and captained two of them and he was loved by all of his teachers for his conscientious attitude.
In many ways he was perfect, and Jamie followed him on that score. Now however, he was caught up in the afterglow of a youthful misdeed and he felt like a new person.
"Come on you," Shane said, slinging his arm around Jamie's shoulders and leading him toward the high street. "Let's get some hot chocolate before we head home."
Five minutes later, they were in the corner of a coffee bar, exchanging phone numbers and slurping away at cups massively decorated with cream, chocolate shavings and marshmallows.
"How did I not know this place existed?! This is the best thing I've ever tasted!" Jamie exclaimed.
Shane grabbed at his crotch suggestively and raised his eyebrows. "Ever?" he asked.
"Okay, close second then." Jamie let out his usual giggle and Shane rolled his eyes. Suddenly Shane's face paled. Jamie looked around and immediately saw the reason. One of their fellow students, Darren Dempster, had spotted Shane through the window and was coming in to greet him.
Darren Dempster was an ogre of a boy. Tall, ugly and as stupid as they come, he lumbered around school with a near permanent scowl. His favourite pastime was starting fights with people smaller than himself, which was pretty much everyone. Jamie often called him Dumpster because of his unfavourable smell.
He bumped fists with Shane. "Y'orite ma'e." Shane nodded, still a little pale. "Wha' you doin' wiv the queer?" Darren had adopted the exaggerated Mancunion accent made famous by the frontmen of a popular Manchester band. It grated on Jamie's ears.
Shane looked about to cry so Jamie threw him a lifeline. "Coincidence. This was the only free seat when Carter came in so I let him have it." Jamie deliberately used Shane's surname to avoid any appearance of familiarity. Shane visibly relaxed.
"Good. For a sec' I fort you was goin' soft on meh!" Jamie winced again a Darren's vulgar accent.
"Yeah right. I'm no faggot." The disgust in Shane's voice struck at Jamie's core. He steeled himself and rose to his feet.
"Well, as stimulating as a conversation with you would certainly be, I think I'll be going. See you around, Carter." As he said this last, Jamie wrinkled his face at Shane and was pleased that he averted his eyes. He turned and left, determined not to react until he was well away from the Neanderthal. He walked quickly, barging past people clearly ready for a night on the town, drawing glares as he did.
At last, Jamie reached the bus stop and sat on the ground. Relieved that he was alone, he unfettered his tears and silently cried. He pulled his knees to his chest and wrapped his arms around them. Wave after wave of grief struck him until a few minutes later, his phone vibrated against his chest, eliciting a soft, startled scream from him.
Looking at his phone, he saw that it was a message from Shane.
'Im sorry. I cant, Im so sorry.'
Jamie read the message three times, each time expecting to see a little more. Of all the things Shane could have said, he had opted for a measly 'I can't'? Jamie fumed. He deleted the text, then he did the same to Shane's phone number. Finally he switched off his phone and rose to his feet.
As the heavens opened and a torrential downpour began, Jamie decided he would not go home. Instead he was going to yell at the other person who had pissed him off tonight.
The rain had finally abated by the time Jamie reached Matthew's front door, soaked to his core and shivering.
Although it was now dark, it was still relatively early. Still, only one light was on; Matthew's bedroom.
Jamie banged furiously on the door, hammering with both fists. In the half hour since he had left the city, Jamie's anger had lessened somewhat. He still, however, planned to give Matthew a mouthful.
After a minute or so, Matthew appeared in his nightclothes carrying a pint can of lager. He was clearly a little tipsy.
"Jamie? What's up?" To his credit, he did look a little concerned.
"What's up?" Jamie returned indignantly. "You ditched me on the first floor of the cinema! You left me in the middle of the city! You didn't even have the decency to tell me that yourself!" Jamie ticked each item off on his fingers. "And worst of all; you weren't there when Shane steamrollered over me and ruined everything!"
Jamie broke down. He had so desperately wanted to stay angry at Matthew because it meant he wasn't thinking about what Shane had done, but now the hurt flooded back over him.
Matthew pulled him in the door and took him in his arms. "So lover boy was a dud?" Jamie nodded against Matthew's chest. Matthew sighed. "Come on, let's get you into a hot shower before you catch cold." Jamie had all but forgotten about his sodden state but assented regardless.
As Jamie felt the first jets of hot water strike his back, he felt as though some of the shit of the day was being washed away. He considered seeing to his cock, but the thought of anything even remotely sexual gave him a headache. He simply stood there, soaking up the heat until he felt the last cold shiver leave his body.
He stepped out, cocooned himself in a gigantic fluffy towel, and made his way to Matthew's bedroom to find Matthew pawing through his wardrobe.
"I can't find any of your t-shirts so you'll have to wear one of mine." Jamie nodded in acknowledgement. "your bottoms and boxers are on the bed. I'll give you the room." With that he left the room, giving Jamie's shoulder a squeeze as he passed, and headed downstairs. Jamie heard him go into the fridge and open another can.
Jamie dried and dressed, grabbing the first clean t-shirt he saw and followed Matthew down. He nipped into the fridge to grab a can for himself and went into the living to find Matthew watching Kerrang! and chugging his beer.
"Is something wrong, Matty? I've never known you to drink alone like this before."
Matthew eyed the can in Jamie's hand. "Well, I'm not drinking alone anymore, am I?"
Jamie rolled his eyes, sat on the couch and nestled himself into the crook of Matthew's arm. "Well?" he asked.
"Well, what?"
"What's with the sourpuss?" Jamie downed half his beer and let out a huge belch, much to Matthew's amusement.
Matthew sighed dramatically. "After we got back down this end, me and Sam got into it. She was calling me a dick for ditching you and calling me out for being mean about Carter."
"What do you mean? You didn't really say anything bad to him."
"Not to you, or him. It was when you two went to the toilets. I started calling him some names. Anyway, what happened between you two? You seemed pretty upset when you got here."
Jamie relayed what happened at the coffee bar, using some colourful language and gesticulating wildly.
"I've never heard anyone sound so disgusted at the thought of being gay. Anyway, that's when I came here to yell at you." He smiled at Matthew.
"What possessed you to invite him out in the first place?"
"Well, we got pretty hot and heavy in the sports hall."
"And that's reason to go out with someone like him?"
"Matty, you've known me for three years. In all that time, have you ever seen anyone show the slightest interest in me?"
Matthew thought a moment. "Becca Elsworth."
"I meant a guy. The point is that Shane gave me some long overdue attention and I guess I got a little carried away. I even invited the fucker to Prom."
"Ha! Seriously? Did he say yes?" Jamie nodded, feeling a little embarrassed. "And now you're back to being dateless." Matthew made a baby face at Jamie, pouting out his bottom lip to patronize Jamie.
"Hey, I'm not the only one going stag! Sam can't come."
"Well, you've got me there. And she would definitely kill me if I took someone else. Tell you what; why don't you be my date?"
"Huh?"
"Yeah. I mean, failing Sam, who the fuck else would I want to take?"
"I suppose. As long as you're not expecting me to kiss you on the doorstep at the end of the night."
"Ooh, you're such a tease!" Matthew joked. "Anyway, I'm meeting up with Sam after the Prom so you'll just have to kiss your teddies at the end of the night." Matthew got down on one knee in front of Jamie. Jamie, having just taken a sip of his lager nearly choked through laughter.
"What are you doing?"
"James Thomas Lawrence, would you please be my bro-date for Prom?"
Jamie put on a mock-weepy look. "I don't know what to say!"
"Shut up. You know it's your dream! Come on, my parents aren't home. Let's get blind stinking drunk."
Over the next three hours, the pair played a series of drinking games, shotting anything they found in the drinks cabinet. One particularly revolting drink resulted in Jamie spraying the shot all over Matthew's face. As the end of the night drew on, the two simply sat in front of the television. Jamie's eyes had begun to droop when he felt Matthew scoop him off the couch and carry him up to bed.
The logistics of sleeping in Matthew's bed made no sense. It was a single, and given that there was a guest bedroom, it was illogical for Jamie to sleep in Matthew's. The two had never thought anything of it, however.
The first time Jamie had slept over, they had been playing video games on the bed until late and Jamie had simply fallen asleep. The second time, they watched a film and the same thing happened. By the third time, it just seemed standard that Jamie was there.
About a year ago, when Jamie had started to have the occasional wet dream, he had asked Matthew if he should start staying in the guest bedroom. Matthew had responded with a non-chalant "We all have them," and proceeded to scooch over on the bed to make room for Jamie.
Matthew laid Jamie down, switched off the light and tucked himself in next to Jamie. Settled and comfortable, he pulled Jamie in to rest the smaller boy's head on his own chest. Jamie sighed contentedly.
"Do you know your roots are coming through?" Matthew's voice vibrated in his chest; an oddly soothing sound for Jamie.
"Me and Sam are going to the salon to get our roots touched up the day before Prom."
Matthew chuckled, rocking Jamie's head as he did. "You're worse than a bloody girl sometimes."
"I'll tell Sam that you said that."
Matthew said something after that, but Jamie was lost to sleep by then.
That night, Jamie had his favourite recurring dream. Sam Winchester from the television show 'Supernatural' was fawning all over him. The main thing that Jamie loved about Sam was that he was six foot four, and for some reason tall guys really got him going.
As Sam ran his hand up Jamie's thigh and his tongue over Jamie's lips, Jamie moaned softly.
-We have to be quick- said Sam. -My brother could be back any second-
-Then you'd better get to work, hadn't you- Jamie sucked gently on Sam's tongue. Sam picked Jamie up by the buttocks and hefted him onto the bonnet of the '67 Chevrolet Impala. He literally tore Jamie's t-shirt into shreds in his eagerness to get down to business. Jamie watched in awe as his stunning biceps accomplished the task.
Jamie scooted up the bonnet and guided Sam to join him. Sam returned to the kissing, which was Jamie's favourite part. Sam kissed down Jamie's body until he reached the navel. He then used his teeth to pull off Jamie's trousers and immediately started deepthroating Jamie.
Seamlessly, the dream changed slightly and they were no longer atop the car. Instead they were on the stage in the assembly hall of Jamie's school, playing to a packed house. Jamie writhed and squirmed as Sam's tongue worked it's magic. Jamie glanced down to see that Sam's clothes had vanished and he was working his own shaft with one hand even as he used his other to fondle Jamie's nipples.
-Fuck me, Winchester!- Jamie screamed. In that peculiar way only dreams can manage, Sam was immedately on Jamie, spreading his legs and inserting his impressive dick. As the first gentle presses turned into hard fucking, the audience stood up to give the pair a standing ovation.
Jamie flipped over so that he was on top and the assembly vanished. This time he found himself riding Sam in a bouncy castle. Each time Jamie thrust, they would lift further and further into the air. Sam was almost screaming with anticipation.
-Jamie, I'm cumming!- exclaimed Sam. -Oh don't stop now, Jamie!-
"Jamie. It's time to get up."
Just as Jamie was feeling close to the brink, he started awake. Matthew was staring down at him holding two plates of bacon and eggs.
"I take it you're not happy to be woken up."
Jamie buried his face in the pillow. "Good dream. Good dream."
"I gathered. All that 'Oh Sam' business. Should I be worried about you stealing my bird?" Matthew cocked an eyebrow.
"Not your Sam. Sam Winchester."
"That bloke with all the hair from that TV show you like?" Jamie nodded. "Oh. Well it sounded like he was good in bed. You want to go finish yourself off in the shower?"
Jamie nodded, his head still buried in the pillow.
I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
