We join him now as his world is literally dumped upside down and he is forced to walk back into the world of reality and very reluctantly back into the lime light.

Chapter One, ****** Reality slaps you in the Face? ******

The yard is well manicured as if a gardener is there 24/7. The driveway is black top and starts from the tall iron gates and gracefully runs through the three miles up to a 29 room mansion. The house is almost horse shoe in shape with it's front porch branching out across the driveway. Two huge lanterns are perched up on the front stone stair railings that descend down to the drive. The windows were dark in the 29 room mansion. Only one light showed on the first floor and it was in a room with a bay window in it. A figure of a man sat at a table and lifted a shot glass to his lips and tossed it back. He shuddered as he swallowed the burning liquid. The phone rang and he ignored it. The phone rang again and again he choose to ignore it. Finally a car drove up to the front of the mansion and a woman got out and stomped up to the front door and started to ring the door bell. After a few minutes she started pounding on it. The man stood unsteadily and walked away from the window. After a few minutes he opened the door and she barged her way in.

"You did it again!" she shouted at the considerably taller man. "You just had to break his heart again!"

"What did I do?" he asked glaring at her through his red rimmed eyes. "And what are you doing here anyway?"

"You know damn well what you did Kevin Richardson!" she shouted at him. "Your son turned three years old and you forgot his birthday again!" Kevin cringed as he remembered what today was.

"I'm sorry Kristin," he mumbled. "I just didn't have--,"

"Don't!" she hissed at him. "Don't you dare try and tell me that you didn't have time. IF you have time for your fucking booze than you've got time for your son!" Kevin glared at her again. "I'm telling you Kevin if you don't straighten up I'm this close to--," she choose not to finish it.

"Close to what?" Kevin insisted. "What are you going to do to me that you already haven't done to me?"

"Ted has been offered a job in Seattle," Kristen said bluntly. "He is taking it and I'm leaving with him."

"You can't!" Kevin pleaded with her. "I have joint custody of Devin!"

"Joint custody that you don't even take part in! Joint custody that you won't be around for!" Kristin shouted at him. "Jesus Kevin he is just a four year old boy who loves his daddy like crazy and you can't even give him the time of day! Do you know how many times he cries himself to sleep?" Slap! Kevin's face jerked to the side her hand leaving a red mark on his cheek. "Damn you Kevin!" She turned and walked down the steps and climbed into her car and sped off. Kevin remained standing there for almost an hour before shaking himself awake and shuffled back into the house and returned to his room. He poured himself a shot of whiskey and tossed it back. Again he shuddered as he swallowed the burning liquid. Soon he would pass out. Soon this would be all an memory. Until that is when he woke the next morning and again face his demons.

The same car drives up to another mansion and she gets out and walks up to it and presses the door bell. The door opens and a suited man lets her in. "Is Nick here?" she asks politely. The suited man nods and leads her into the house.

"Mr. Carter," the butler speaks. "Mrs. Richardson here to see you." The blonde turns and smiled widely at her.

"Hey Kristin!" Nick said as he walked up to her and picks her up and gives her a huge hug. "How are you?"

"Pretty good," Kristin laughs. "I can't stay for long, I have a plane to catch to Seattle." Nick frowns at her. "Nick, I can't take it any more. Kevin just sits and drinks himself to a stupor every night. He forgot Devin's birthday again this year. I had to sit and watch him blow out his candles with tears in his eyes. The little guy tried so hard to be so brave. God Nick," Kristin sobbed. "It hurts to much to see what Kevin is doing to himself and to Devin."

"He loves him," Nick said sadly.

"He doesn't show it Nick," Kristin said sadly. "Ever since the Backstreet Boys called it quits he just sits and drinks all alone in that damn room next to that damned piano."

"I'm sorry," Nick said sadly. Than he smiled his usual naughty grin.

"What did you do?" Kristin asked suddenly looking very worried.

"I remembered Devin's birthday," Nick giggled as he walked over to the couch and picked up a huge package. "I hope he likes it."

"What did you get him?" Kristin asked trying hard to look stern.

"The Xbox CX system," Nick said proudly. "The latest in video entertainment!" Nick was obviously very proud of his gift. "And I'm not taking no for an answer. He is my godson and I am supposed to spoil the day lights out of him." Kristin knew she wasn't going to win this. "Now what are we going to do about Kevin?" Kristin shook her head sadly.

"Don't know and don't really care Nick," she said.

"That is not true and you know it," Nick said softly. "You still love him."

"Dammit Nick!" Kristin shouted. "I won't let him destroy us all!" Nick nodded sadly as he enveloped her in a hug. "Nick? Why can't he be like his old self again?"

"I don't know Kristin," Nick sighed. "You want me to kick his ass for you?" Kristin giggled. "Cause you know I will."

"Yea and he'll kick yours," Kristin sniffled loudly. "No Nick, Kevin has to hit rock bottom before he can move on."

The house is now dark. Only a faint glow remains in the study window. The shadow of a man slumped over in a chair plays on the far wall. The smell of liquor and sweat is heavy in the air. The insistent ringing of a doorbell slowly rouses the man. He grumbles to himself as he glances at the clock. "Three O'clock in the morning," he grumbles. He walks through his mansion as he tried to wake himself from his slumber. The ringing of the doorbell stops and now he hears pounding on the door. "I'm coming!" he shouts and winces as he holds his head from the pain caused by the combination of drinking and shouting. He unlocks the door and swings it open. Nick stumbles in. "Nick! What the hell are you doing here?"

"We have to get you sober!" Nick said bluntly. "You're needed in Seattle!"

"What-- why-- Nick tell me what is going on!" Kevin demands. Kevin could tell that Nick was upset. He could tell that he had been crying too. Kevin led him into the living room and sat him down. Kevin wrinkled his nose at all the dust laying around. He wondered how long it had been since he had even been in this room. "Now Nick," Kevin prompted as his mind started to come out of the alcohol induced haze that he was in. "Tell me what is so important that you have to wake me at three in the morning." Nick took several deep breaths to calm himself down. "Nick just tell me!"

"There has been an accident," Nick finally struggled out. "Kristin and her husband and Devin were on the plane and it went down." Kevin's heart started to pound heavily in his chest. "I'm sorry Kevin but Kristin didn't make it."

"What about Devin?" Kevin asked trying to hold his tears in.

"He is well," Nick said softly. "Kevin, you're all he has now." Silence racked the 29 room mansion as two friends sat in the dusty unused living room. Finally Kevin got up and walked to the bar and picked up a decanter of brandy. "Dammit Kevin! Nick hissed at him as he forcefully took the decanter from him. "You don't need that right now. You need to sober up first! This is the last thing you need."

"Don't tell me what I need and what I don't need!" Kevin hurled at Nick.

"Didn't you hear me?" Nick shouted at Kevin. "Kristin is dead! Devin needs his biological father sober! You have to stop drinking and get showered and cleaned up and get your ass up to Seattle and be a father to your son!" The tears started to flow down Kevin's face. He crumbled to the ground sobbing loudly into his hands. Nick stood and watched him for a few minutes before kneeling at Kevin's side and wrapped his arms around him. Kevin latched onto him like a starving man. Nick wasn't really sure how long they had held each other but at some point Kevin had fallen asleep. Nick sighed as he struggled to pick up the large man and carried him over to the couch and laid him down on it. Putting a pillow under his head he covered him up and than quietly left the room. He headed to Kevin's study to make the much needed plans. This was going to be a very long night.

The next morning two men get on a private jet and the door closes behind them. Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter sit down on the plush leather seats and buckle themselves in. Nick glances over at Kevin. Kevin is sober now. He has showered and is dressed in nice traveling clothes. They are a little out of style but that is Kevin's fault. After he and Kristin divorced he stopped shopping. In fact he stopped going out all together. He pretty much locked himself away in that big mansion of his and drank himself to a stupor every day. That was over a year ago. Finally last night was the straw that broke the camels back. Kevin swallowed the last drink and gave into his daemons and let reality enter back into his life. He was going to retrieve his son. He was going to California to bury his ex wife. And somehow, though he didn't know how he would have to build a life for him and his son. A life where booze no longer played a role for him. He shivered violently as the withdraw symptoms threatened to over take him again.

"You okay Kev?" Nick asked. Kevin looked at his younger band mate and smiled a small and sad smile.

"I'm as good as I'll ever be," Kevin sighed heavily. "You don't do as much dinking as I have done in the past year and not expect to get hooked on the stuff."

"Take it one day at a time Kev," Nick said with very little sympathy. He wasn't too happy with Kevin. For the longest time Kevin had been his idol. Nick looked up to Kevin as a younger brother would look up to his older brother. And than it happened. After Backstreet Boys kinda sorta called it quits something happened to Kevin. It was almost as if the wind went out in his sail. He used to carry himself proudly. Now he walked in a slumped over way that made Nick shuddered. He longed for the old days when Kevin was a leader. Now Kevin was just a lump on the log. Life was passing Kevin by and Nick was tired of his crap. "Why?" Nick asked harshly. Kevin jerked his head up and glared at Nick. "Don't glare at me Kevin!" Nick shot at him. "Why did you allow your life to get so fucked up?"

"Not now Nick," Kevin sighed as he leaned back in the plush leather seat.

"No Kevin, Now!" Nick shouted at him. "For the longest time I looked up to you! For the longest time I respected you as a older brother. You never once steered me wrong! Now you're just a worthless drunk!" Nick waited to see what Kevin's reaction would be. A few years ago he would've gotten a fat lip for making a comment like that. But now Kevin just glared at him through his red rimmed eyes. "Please Kevin," Nick said as tears flowed down his face. "You've got to pull yourself out of this depression. Devin needs you now." Kevin just stared out the window of the flying jet. Nick swore as he stood up and stomped off to another section of the jet. It was Kevin's jet and it was nice even though it had been a long time since Kevin had used it. Nick was always borrowing it for this and that and Kevin was happy enough to let him use it. Now the jet was quiet. Nick was off in his little world of worrying himself to death over his god son. And Kevin?

Well Kevin was standing in front of the bar reaching for a drink. His hand stopped mid way when he heard a sound. He turned and looked over his shoulder. "What are you doing here?" he asked bitterly.

"Nick said you might need me," a soft voice with a heavy southern accent drifted over Kevin. "You need to make a decision Kevin," the voice continued. "Take a drink and settle back into your little fantasy world or not take a drink and walk back to that seat and listen to what I have to say."

"I don't have to listen to anything you have to say," Kevin muttered bitterly. "Go back to your flock Reverend Litteral."

"I'll go back to my flock when I have rescued a lost sheep," Brian said sadly as he put his arm around Kevin's shoulder. To his relief Kevin didn't move away. "Now come and sit." Kevin sighed and allowed himself to be led to the couch on the luxury Jet. "You have some tough decisions to make cousin," Brian said softly. "You're son needs you."

"Don't you think I know that?" Kevin hurled at Brian.

"Do you?" Brian asked a little harshly. "I mean I don't think you really understand just what is going on right now. Devin lost his mommy and now he has to live with his Daddy who hasn't given him the time of day in first three years of his life. How about thinking about him for a change. He is scared to death. His little heart is broken and his little world has just been turned upside down." Brian reached into his wallet and pulled out a picture and handed it to Kevin. "Look at it Kevin," Brian ordered him. Kevin deliberately turned the other way. "Look at the fucking picture now!" Brian shouted at Kevin. Kevin jerked his head at Brian and cast his eyes down to the wallet size picture that he was holding. A very small pair of green eyes stared back up at him. His almost white blonde hair was all shaggy and his little cheeks were all flushed. He was sitting on his "Uncle Nick's" shoulders holding one of those corny Mickey mouse lollipops from Disney world. Kevin's throat closed up as he tried so hard not to let the tears flow. "Do you know what I see?" Brian asked. Kevin took the picture with shaking hands. "I see a very cute little boy who needs his daddy so much right now. You know what else I see?" Brian prodded. Kevin looked up to see tears flowing down Brian's face. "I see a Daddy who needs his son just as much if not more than he has ever realized."

"How can I expect him to want me to be a part of his life?" Kevin asked harshly.

"Do you think that Devin is going to resort to petty arguments about when the last time that you visited him?" Brian hurled back at him. "All he is going to know is that the most important person in the world to him is dead and that his Daddy is there to help him understand what he is going through. And that his daddy is some how going to make this all better for him." Silence reigned in the jet for the next couple of hours. As the Jet made it's descent Kevin prepared himself for what was undoubtably the most moving experience of his life. For the first time he was going to be alone with his son. "You ready cousin?" Brian's voice sounded from behind Kevin.

"As ready as I'll ever be," Kevin sighed. He started to walk out of the plane when he realized that both Brian and Nick were beside him. He smiled a real genuine smile at both of his friends for the first time in a long time. "Thanks guys," he said softly looking down.

"Any time brother," Nick said solemly. "Lean on us if you need too."

"It wasn't that long ago when you were crying on my shoulder," Kevin said as his eyes misted over. Nick smiled his cocky little grin and wrapped his arm around Kevin as walked with him down the stairs. Kevin wanted to turn and run back to the jet and to the bar that could take him away from all of this. But there was a little boy that depended on him right now. And that scared the hell out of Kevin.

Chapter Two. ******* Getting Settled into Life *********

"Mr. Richardson?" a voice drifted over Kevin. He jerked his head up and looked up at the uniformed woman standing over him. "I'll take you to your son now." Kevin swallowed hard as he stood up. Nick and Brian stood too but the woman shook her head no. Anger raged through Kevin.

"They're coming too," he said bluntly. "They are his family and he needs them too." Nick was shocked to hear the authority in Kevin's voice again. He smiled softly at the memory of it. The uniformed woman nodded curtly and led them through the police station. They walked through a door way and into a lighted room. Kevin looked around and saw him. His heart stood still for a fraction of a second. Sitting in a chair all by himeslf was his son. His little head was bowed down looking at his swinging feet. He was all alone in this big room. There was a table with two chairs. Kevin swallowed hard and walked up to his son. He knelt down and took his hand and gently laid on his Devin's chin and gently lifted his face so that he was staring into the eyes of his son. Kevin struggled hard not to break down an cry. The pain that wracked the little boys face was almost to much to bear. "Hey," Kevin said softly. Devin eyes perked up when he heard his daddy's soft voice.

"Daddy?" Devin sniffled out.

"Yea buddy, it's me," Kevin said gruffly. Kevin jerked backwards as Devin launched himself into his daddy's arms. This time Kevin did allow his tears to flow. The only sound in the room was Kevin's sobs and Devin's sniffles as the two hugged eachother. Nick sniffled too and Brian handed Nick a tissue and took one for him self. This was a long time coming. For the first time in a long time Daddy and son was reunited.

Three Days later they had buried Kristin and were now headed back to the mansion.

The limo ride to the mansion was pretty much silent. Devin was snuggled up in his car seat sleeping. Kevin was on one side of him and Nick was on the other side of him. Brian was reading his Bible quietly to himself. A thousand thoughts raged through Kevin's mind and for the first time in a long time the need for a drink was the furthest thing from his mind. "Do you think he'll like the mansion?" Kevin blurted out startling both Nick and Brian. "I mean it is a pretty big house. I don't want to scare him. Maybe I should think of getting something smaller."

"I think he will like the mansion just fine Kevin," Nick said with a small smile. "He loves my place and it is bigger than yours."

"Yea I guess you're right," Kevin sighed. "I'm going to need help decorating his room."

"I can help with that," Nick volunteered. "Do you want me to stay around for a few days?"

"I don't want to be a bother," Kevin said with a grin.

"You're not," Nick said with a grin. "I want to help. I need to help. He is my godson Kevin." The car pulled up to the iron gates and Kevin punched in the code and the gates slid open to allow them in. Devin's eyes opened wide as he looked around the huge yard. "Well what do you think of your new home?" Nick asked Devin softly. Devin just shrugged his little shoulders and continued to look around. "Well I'm going to stay here with you and Daddy to help you get all settled, Okay?" Again Devin shrugged his shoulders refusing to say anything. They had learned to expect that from him. Periodically he would lapse into long period of silences followed by long periods of crying. He clung to either Nick or Kevin for most of the time. Nick hated to see his little godson in so much pain. "Hey," Nick said softly. "I love you Devin."

"Love you too Nicky," Devin said in a soft voice. Finally the car came to a stop and the driver opened the door. Nick climbed out first and Devin followed. Kevin got out from the otherside and walked to the trunk and started to take out bags. The front door opened a suited man came out. "Who are you?" Devin asked scrunching up his nose while looking up at the strange man.

"I'm Alfred," the man said formally. "I'm the butler."

"I'm Devin," Devin said softly sticking out his hand. Alfred gently shook his hand and Devin than walked over to Kevin and tugged on his hand. Kevin looked down at his three year old son. "What's a butler?"

"A butler is someone who helps with the work in the house," Kevin replied. "Now come, it is time to get you inside and down for your nap."

"I'm not tired," Devin said matter of factly.

"Well, I am," Kevin said smiling down at his son. "And I happen to know that this is the time that you normally take your nap. So we are going to get you back on schedule. I'll show you to your room."

"I can do that sir," Alfred said.

"No," Kevin said sternly. "I'll take care of my son. You take care of the house and other tasks." Alfred nodded quietly as he turned and left the room. "Come on Devin," Kevin said softly. "Let's get you settled in your new room." Devin gave Nick a scared look as Kevin led him away. "You will beable to play with Uncle Nick later," Kevin said in his stern voice. Kevin and Devin walked up the long flight of stairs and soon they were in the room that Kevin had set up for Devin. Devin walked in and his eyes opened up wide in shock. "Do you like it?" Kevin asked softly. Devin nodded silently. Kevin sighed as he realized that it was going to take a long time for him and his son to develope a relationship. He knelt down beside his son and put his arm on the small boy's shoulder. "Devin," Kevin started looking into his son's green eyes. He almost shuddered at the pure honesty that he saw pouring from them. "I know that this is all really new to you. I love you Devin and I want us to be family." Devin chewed on his bottom lip as if he was thinking of something to say. "You can say anything you want to buddy," Kevin said slowly.

"Why?" Devin asked in a small voice.

"Why what son?" Kevin asked.

"Why did mommy have to go away?" Devin asked as he looked down at his feet.

"Oh sweetie," Kevin said sadly. "I know you miss your mommy too. We all miss her so much. But your mommy had to go away. Do you know why?" Devin shook his head no. By now his eyes were full of unshed tears. "Because it was her time to go sweetie. God called her home so she had to go."

"Why?" Devin asked stubbornly. One lone tear flowed down his agelic face.

"Well do you remember when your mommy would tell you to go to bed or eat your food?" Kevin asked softly as he wiped the tear from Devin's face. Devin sniffled loudly and nodded. "Well you did that didn't you?" Again Devin nodded quickly. "Well when God calls us home we have to obey and come home."

"But I miss her," Devin sniffled as more tears flowed down his face. Kevin's heart went out to his son and wrapped his arms around the boys shoulders and picked him up and carried him out of the room and across the hall and into his and laid him down on the his bed and than stripped off his shirt and shoes and pants and laid down in his boxers. Devin snuggled closer to his daddy and cried softly to sleep. Kevin just laid there holding his son in his arms and gently stroking his hair. Finally Devin was sound asleep and Kevin yawned and drifted off to sleep too.

Down stairs Nick is sitting in the living room when Brian walks in. "You still here?" Brian says with a frown on his face.

"Yes I'm still here," Nick replied glaring at his one time friend. "And I am staying!"

"Do you think that is wise?" Brian asked in his silky smooth voice.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Nick asked standing up and walking up to Brian.

"Well do you think it is wise for a active faggot to be in the same house as an impressionable child?" Brian asked with a triumphant smirk on his face.

"Fuck you Brian!" Nick hissed at him.

"No," Brian replied softly. "I don't float that way. Remember?"

"Oh I remember all right," Nick hurled at him. "I remember a time when you loved to have your cock sucked and you loved to fuck my brains out."

"That was a long time ago," Brian hissed back. "I'm a changed person now."

"No you're not!" Nick replied sadly. "You knew who and what you were. You were a jack ass who used a innocent boy to your advantage and your own selfish purposes." Brian smirked again as he rubbed his crotch.

"You seemed to enjoy it Nicky," Brian replied. "Maybe you want some more?" Nick's fist jabbed out and caught Brian in the nose. "Fuck!" Brian yelled as he grabbed his nose. By now blood was flowing from it.

"What a fine Minister you make Brock," Nick said sadly. "All those years ago you knew I was confused. Instead of helping me through those feelings and helping me discover who I was you used me for your own pleasure. I'll never forgive you for that Brian. And I'm not leaving. I'm staying. Devin and Kevin both need me! What they don't need is a fucking hyporcrit like you!" Nick grabbed Brian by the scruff of his shirt and drug through the house and opened the door and tossed him out. He sat down on the marble floor and leaned against he door. Tears flowed down his face as he thought back on those days. Brian had been so sweet and loving and kind. It had felt so good to have Brian pay attention to him. Even when Brian would let him have sex with him Brian was still so loving and kind. But that all stopped after Brian fell in love with his wife. Then when they went their seperate ways Brian was ordained a minister and would throw it in his face about how he was a sinner and distined for hell. Nick angrily wiped his tears away and took out his cell phone. He need to call his lover. He dialed his number and waited for him to answer.

"Speak!" JC's voice drifted over Nick like a soft comforting blanket.

"Hey," Nick said softly as he wiped the tears away.

"Baby?" JC asked his voice thick with concern. "What's wrong?"

"Can you come to Kevin's?" Nick sniffled.

"I'm on my way sweetie," JC said softly. "And Nick?"

"Yes?" Nick asked still crying.

"I love you Nicky," JC answered. Nick could almost feel the love coming from the phone. "How is Kevin and Devin doing?"

"They are ok," Nick replied. "Devin is still missing his mommy so much and Kevin is still in shock about suddenly becoming the one parent in Devin's life."

"Has he taken a drink since that night?" JC asked.

"Nope," Nick said sighing with relief. "He has come really close but so far he has resisted the temptation."

"Good," JC replied. "I'm on my way sweetie."

"Bring an over night bag," Nick suggested.

"Can we make love?" JC asked hopefully. Nick smiled as he shook his head.

"We'll see," Nick gigggled. He laughed full out when he heard the whimper from JC. "Ok we can make love."

"I love you Nick," JC said softly.

"I love you too Josh," Nick whispered back. The phone went dead and Nick stood up and walked back to the living room and stretched out on the sofa and closed his eyes.

A couple of hours later Kevin woke up and looked around. He couldn't help but smile at the sight of his son snuggled up next to him. He did frown just a little when he saw his son sucking on his thumb. He was tempted to remove the thumb from his mouth but decided against it. Devin had a rough last few days and needed all the rest he could get. Kevin slid out of his bed and walked into the bathroom. Alfred had laid out new clothes for him and Kevin slid off his boxers and stepped into the shower. He spent a few extra minutes in the shower before turning it off. After climbing out he walked in front of the full length mirror and frowned. He was out of shape. His rock hard abs sagged just a little. His arms had almost lost all of its definintion. "Well it is back to the gym for you mister," Kevin scolded himself. He slipped on his boxers and shorts and wife beater and headed back into the bedroom where he was greeted with the very welcome high pitched giggles of his son. He smiled at the sight. There in bed with him was JC and Nick. Devin and Nick had decided to gang up on poor JC and tickle the daylights out of him. Kevin watched the scene for a jew more seconds enjoying the sight of a three year old boy laughing again. Finally Nick caught Kevin standing there staring down at them. "Ummm it looks like we're caught guys," Nick grinned. Josh grinned sheepishly up at Kevin too. Devin just snuggled closer to his Godfather with his hair all messed up and face flush with happiness.

"Hey you three," Kevin said softly. "You seem to be having a good time."

"Well Devin started it," Nick said pointing at the innocent little boy.

"Nu uhhh!" Devin blurted out. "He started it!" Devin pointed at a shocked looking JC. Devin than burst out in a long stream of giggles as JC tickled him again. Kevin shook his head as he headed out of the room. Nick frowned and climbed out of bed and followed Kevin. Kevin stopped in his study and sat down at his piano. He ran his hand over the wood and shook his head at the thick layer of dust that covered it. He lifted the lid and begin to play. He closed his eyes and let his fingers fly across the piano keys. Soon both and he and Nick were lost in the music. Finally after about five minutes he stopped playing.

"Why?" Nick asked. Kevin looked up at Nick. "Why did you stop making music Kevin?"

"It was too painful," Kevin sighed. "For those last few years when we struggled to get our act together to put out a album after Black and Blue I was hoping to keep us together. But as time went on and we all started to do our own thing it became obvious that we were finished. So I got mad at the world and swore off music. Infact you could say that I swore off living for a while."

"You missed out on a lot," Nick said sadly. "You missed your son's first three years."

"I know that," Kevin sighed. "But I was at this realy dark place and I was in no shape to be a father to little Devin. So I bowed out and let you take over."

"You didn't ask," Nick said frowning.

"You love that little boy with all your heart don't you?" Kevin asked. Nick nodded with out any hesitation. "Would you have said no?" Nick shook his head no.

"But you should've asked Kevin," Nick sighed. "Why me? Why not Brian?"

"That hypocrit?" Kevin said with a scorn on his face. "Please!"

"Why did you call him that?" Nick asked slowly. Kevin looked up at Nick with his eyes a little wet. "Oh God!" Nick gasped. "You knew!" Kevin nodded silently. "How long?"

"About the second year after he started messing with you," Kevin said softly. "He said he loved you. How was I to know he was just using you? Brian was a very good actor. He acted like he loved you. Imagine my surprise when he dumped you for that tramp."

"Kevin," Nick sain in a soft scolding voice. "Leighanne is not a tramp. She is a good person. It is not her fault that Brian is an ass."

"I know but I hate seeing you hurt," Kevin argued. "You deserve to be happy."

"I am happy," Nick replied with a dreamy look on his face. "JC is a sweetie and he loves me soooo much."

"You got laid again didn't you?" Kevin smirked as Nick blushed and looked down. "Man you two never quit too."

"Hey don't knock it until you try it!" Nick replied as he lightly punched Kevin on the shoulder. Kevin blushed and choose not to say anything. Nick picked up on it at once. "Something you want to tell me big brother?"

"It's nothing," Kevin replied in a quiet voice.

"You can talk to me Kev," Nick replied putting his arm around Kevin's shoulder. Kevin was actually happy for the closeness and leaned into Nick's touch.

"I've been doing some thinking and well, I am starting to have those old feelings again," Kevin answered. "I was in a relationship back when we were together."

"What kind of relationship?" Nick asked suddenly very curious.

"Well there was this guy," Kevin replied.

"Was he hot?" Nick asked perking up.

"Of course he was hot," Kevin giggled. "Well anyway we were in love--,"

"How big was he?" Nick interupted again.

"Eight and a half inches," Kevin replied. "Now let me finish the story." Nick nodded and Kevin continued his story about his one time brush with homosexuality. "It lasted for about a year. Than I rekindled my love with Kristin. That was it. I got married and well you know the rest of the story."

"You had sex with another man?" Nick asked shocked. "Kevin why?"

"I'm gay Nick," Kevin said softly. "Don't ask me to explain it. You know how it was. We were in a boy band and I had to put on this act. I had to be married to a woman and have a child. The world needed me to be straight. And you know something Nick?" Nick shook his head no. "I don't want to be that person any more. I need to be myself. I need to be gay now. That is who I am. That is who I want to be. I want to meet a good looking guy and fall in love with him and make love to him like I want to and whole world be dammned!" Instead of Nick being happy for Kevin Kevin noticed that Nick had this sad look on his face. "Nick what's wrong?"

"God Kevin," Nick said with a tear running down his face. "The torture you had to endure."

"I don't need your pity," Kevin grumbled. After a few seconds of silence Kevin looked up at Nick. "Brian said something didn't he?"

"He made some smart ass comment about how it wasn't good for Devin to be around practicing faggots," Nick said harshly.

"He just can't leave you alone can he?" Kevin sighed. "Well shall we go see what Devin is up to?" Kevin stood up and walked out of the study. For the first time in a very long time Kevin felt happy. It was as if the sun had finally risen for Kevin Richardson. "Let's have a cook out tonight. You know to kinda celebrate Devin's homecoming."

"That sounds like a good idea," Nick smiled. "Hey, Justin is in town and Josh hasn't seen him in a long time. Can we invite him?"

"Sure," Kevin said after a long pause. Nick frowned at Kevin for a few seconds before shrugging his shoulders. "We'll have a good time. It has been a long time since this house has seen a good time."

Chapter Three ******* Can we turn back time?********

"Daddy!" Devin shouted in his loud exited voice. Kevin turned and started to laugh loudly. Devin was being held upside down as Nick was dipping him in the pool. Devin was laughing his little head off as he and his "Uncle Nick played with him in the pool. "Come play with us!"

"I will in a little bit buddy!" Kevin hollered back.

"He is a cute little guy," a voice drifted over Kevin. Kevin stiffened as a hand dropped onto his shoulder. He turned around and looked into the very attractive blue eyes of Justin Timberlake. "It's been a long time Kevin," Justin said smilling his little smile.

"Not long enough," Kevin muttered.

"I thought we got through all that crap Kevin," Justin replied with hurt in his voice. "I wanted to come out of the closet remember? It was you that wanted to stay and hide."

"Yea but you didn't have to break it off like that," Kevin muttered. "I loved you Justin."

"I love you too Kevin," Justin replied. Kevin jerked his head in Justin's direction. "Yea you heard right," Justin replied softly. "I love you Kevin. I still do and I have never stopped loving you."

"Don't Justin," Kevin said bitterly. "It has been to long to try and rekindle anything that we may have had."

"But I still have feelings for you Kevin," Justin pleaded with him. Kevin made the mistake of looking into Justin's eyes and shuddered. "You still have feelings for me too."

"No," Kevin said sadly. "Not feelings Justin. Just a lot of really good memories and some bad ones too. I have changed Justin. I'm not the same person I was four five years ago."

"Yes you are," Justin said with a tight lip. "You're just to much of a coward to admit that you still love me."

"No I am not!" Kevin said with force. "I do not love you Justin! That part of my life is over and I would rather forget that it ever excisted!" Kevin turned around to look anywhere but at Justin. If he continued to look at him he would cave into his feelings for him. Justin was right. He still had feelings for him. He turned around to see that Justin was still there with his arms crossed in front of his chest. "What the hell do you want from me Timberlake?"

"This!" Justin replied by walking up to Kevin and boldly taking him in his arms and wrapping his arms around Kevin and pulling him close and pressing his lips to Kevin's. Kevin struggled to fight Justin off but Justin knew what he was doing. Soon Kevin found himself giving into Justin. Justin was a very good kisser and knew how to use both his lips and his body to get what he wanted. Kevin moaned softly as Justin probed his lips with his tongue. Finally Kevin through all caution to the wind and let out a soft whimper and parted his lips. Soon Kevin was lost in the feeling of the moment. It was when he realized that Justin was no longer kissing him did he realize that his eyes were closed. He opened them to see Justin standing there breathing heavily.

"What the hell was that?" Kevin demanded still realing from the effects of Justin kiss.

"Think about that for a while," Justin huffed as he turned and walked off. Kevin stood there in a complete state of shock until he felt a hand drop on his shoulder. He turned and saw Nick standing there.

"What was that all about?" Nick asked shocked.

"Just an old memory by the name of Justin Timberlake," Kevin sighed as he sat down.

"Was he the one?" Nick asked.

"Yes Nick," Kevin said smiling a small smile. "Justin Timberlake was my first and only experience with being gay."

"Wow!" Nick replied grinning. "I'm impressed!"

"Don't be," Kevin laughed a bitter laugh. "Justin is not all that. Yea he was a great lover and could do things to you that would make you come begging back for more. But as a person to have a relationship with, well let's just say that all of his qualities were confined to the bedroom. And as hard as it might be to believe sex is not all there is to a relationship."

"Tell me about it," Nick sighed with a dreamy look on his face again.

"What did he do now?" Kevin asked.

"He gave me this!" Nick exclaimed holding out a pendant that hung around his neck by a gold chain. Kevin looked at it closely to find that it was a pendant of Nick's sign. It was done the same way that JC's was. It wasn't an expensive gift but to Nick it was the greatest. "Isn't it great?" Nick cooed still giving off a dreamy goofy look. Kevin laughed softly as he patted Nick on the shoulder.

"You have it so bad," Kevin snickered.

"Let me find you one!" Nick blurted out.

"Find me what?" Kevin asked confused.

"A boyfriend silly," Nick giggled.

"No," Kevin replied laughing. "I don't need a boyfriend."

"When was the last time you got some?" Nick demanded.

"Why do you want to know that?" Kevin yelped out.

"Because dude," Nick replied grinning. "You're all uptight! You need to get laid to losen up!"

"Nick are you picking on Kevin," JC's voice sounded from behind them.

"No I am not!" Nick exclaimed in his deffence. "I was just offering to help Kevin find a boyfriend."

"Nick sweetie," JC said in a scolding tone of voice. "Remember what happened when you tried to find Aaron a boyfriend?"

"That was a one time thingy!" Nick said with a pout. "How was I supposed to know that guy liked me instead of Aaron!"

"Oh this should prove to be interesting," Kevin chuckled. Nick pouted all the while JC filled Kevin in on the last time Nick played matchmaker. By the end of it Kevin was laughing at poor Nick. Nick continued to pout until JC took pity on him and kissed him breathless. After releasing him JC sat back smirking as Nick sat with a dazed look on his face. "Well on that note it is time for me to put Devin to bed. Good night all." After retrieving Devin from the pool Kevin managed to get him showered in into pajamas and three glasses of water, two bedtime stories and six good night hugs Devin finally drifted off to sleep. Kevin watched his son sleep for a few minutes before walking out of the room.

"You are such a softie," Justin said from behind him.

"What are you still doing here?" Kevin asked frowning.

"I wanted to ask you if it was ok if I stay here for a while?" Justin asked.

"Why?" Kevin asked looking suspicious.

"Josh is here," Justin said shrugging his shoulder. "I haven't seen him in almost a year. I want to spend some time with him."

"Is that the only reason you want to stay?" Kevin asked.

"Well not really," Justin mumbled. "I ummm kinda sorta missed you."

"Justin," Kevin sighed.

"Listen I get that you really don't love me anymore. But I can't help the feelings I feel for you. I still love you. And if you let me prove it too you we might have a chance," Justin said to him giving him his puppy dog eyes. Justin could give the best puppy dog eyes. Kevin sighed. "Please?"

"Daddy?" asked a small voice. Kevin looked down to see Devin standing there with his arm wrapped around a teddy bear as large as him. "I'm scared." Kevin caught the look of compasion flow out of Justin's eyes. Kevin smiled as he thought back on what Justin had said about him being the softie. Kevin knew that Justin was itching to get to know Devin.

"You want me to lay with you for a while?" Kevin asked softly.

"Can I sleep with you?" Devin asked as he wrapped one of his arms around Kevin's leg.

"Sure buddy," Kevin smiled down at his sleepy son. "You go ahead and hop into bed and I'll join you in a couple of minutes." Justin smiled at the sight before him. "I have to talk to Justin for a few minutes."

"Who are you?" Devin asked as he looked up at Justin.

"I'm Justin," Justin said with a kind smile. "I'm a good friend of your daddy's." Devin looked hard at Justin for a few minutes as if trying to decide to believe him or not. Finally he smiled his wide and innocent smile and stuck his hand out to Jusitn.

"I'm Devin!" Devin said. Justin smiled again as he shook Kevin's son's hand. Justin really wanted to get to know Devin better. He was such a cute kid and he had such a hard life and Justin wanted to help make it better.

"Well it is very nice to meet you Devin," Justin said solemly.

"I have to go to bed now," Devin said seriously as he turned and ran into Kevin's room and hopped into bed.

"What a cutie," Justin said smiling. "You and Kristin sure make beautiful children."

"You mean we did make beautiful children," Kevin muttered softly. "Excuse me while I get myself to bed. I have a busy day ahead of me tomorrow." Justin watched sadly as Kevin walked into his room and quietly closed the door behind him. Sighing heavily Justin walked down the stairs to find his best friend.

Nick lay in JC's arms with a thin sheen of sweat still on his body. He was napping quietly after an intense lovemaking session. JC had entered his body over an hour ago and finally came to an earth shattering orgasm. Nick loved the way JC was able to bring him to the brink and back off time and time again. JC loved to tease Nick and get him to beg for release. When Nick did finally cum JC watched with love and pleasure. Watching his lover cum was like getting a small glance of what heaven was like. He loved to hear Nick moan and let out little whimpers and loved the way his body would tremble and shake as he came inbetween them. Now Nick was wore out and JC was holding his lover and watching him sleep. A light tapping on the door startled him. He gently laid Nick down and slid his pillow in his place and smiled as Nick hugged the pillow to him. JC pulled on his boxer briefs and robe and walked to the door. He opened and smiled at Justin. "Hey JT," JC smiled as he stepped out of the room. "What are still doing here?"

"I asked Kevin if I could stay a few days to hang out with you," Justin replied with a grin.

"Justin," JC said in a scolding tone of voice. "You're not thinking of getting back together with him are you?"

"Yes I am," Justin answered honestly. "I still love him JC."

"Oh Justin," JC said sadly. "What am I going to do with you?"

"Help me get back together with him?" Justin asked as he called in his heavy guns and gave JC his puppy dog eyes.

"You know I can't refuse you when you look at me like that," JC sighed. Justin giggled as he laid his head on JC's shoulder. "Where are you sleeping?"

"The room next to Kevin's," Justin replied looking down. He knew that JC wasn't going to be happy when he heard that. JC just sighed and wrapped his arm around Justin's shoulder.

"Justin," JC said softly. "What are you doing to yourself?"

"I'm not going to try anything that he isn't ready for," Justin said looking at JC. "I just need to be close to him. He is hurting and I want to help. I can't help it. I felt him hurting even before I found about Kristin."

"What is that supposed to mean Justin?" JC asked frowning.

"I don't know," Justin sighed. "I'm connected to him in some way I can't explain. All I know is that I still love him and I was an ass for letting him go." By now Justin's eyes were wet with unshed tears. JC's heart went out to him.

"Hey Justin," JC said softly as he wiped the tears free from his best friends face. "Kevin has to take some of the blame too. If I remember correctly he was the one who wanted to keep this relationship in the dark. It was you that wanted to come out. So don't be too hard on yourself." Justin nodded as he sniffled loudly. Than he yawned widely and JC laughed softly. "Get some sleep Justin and I promise I'll talk to Kevin for you."

"You will?" Justin said smiling brightly.

"Yes sweetie," JC replied. "I will. I can't have my little brother all heart broken now can I?" Justin gave JC a quick hug and kiss before turning and walking down the hall and disapearing in his room. JC shook his head as he quickly returned to his room and back into the arms of his lover.

Justin walked quietly to his room and once in he stripped off his muscle shirt and his shorts. He was only wearing his boxers and he glanced into the mirror and smiled. Out of everyone in Nsync JC, Lance and him had kept their bodies in very good shape. Sighing heavily he pouted a few minutes as he realized that he was sleeping alone tonight. He had hoped to be sharing Kevin's bed tonight. But Kevin wasn't ready to reconnect and Devin needed his daddy tonight. Justin's heart strings tugged at him when he thought of Devin. He was such a cute little guy and needed his daddy so much. But Kevin was still very new to all of this. Partly that was his fault. He had chosen to drink him self to a stupor for the first three years of his son's life. Now that Kristin was dead Kevin was forced to be a full time daddy. Justin just hoped that Kevin had it in him. Justin made a promise to himself. He would stay around here and help Kevin on his path to fatherhood.

Chapter Four **** All I want to do is make you feel good *****

Nick woke up to an incredible feeling between his legs. He looked down and smiled a sleepy smile at his lover JC. JC was very busy bobbing up and down on Nick's cock. Nick moaned JC's name softly. JC looked up at Nick and winked at him. This made Nick almost cum right then and there. But JC, being the skillful lover that he was, was in no hurry to make his lover cum. He paused for a few seconds before continuing his attack on his lover. He giggled softly as he heard the soft frustrated growl from Nick. Nick's cock pulsed as a huge drop of precome flowed from the head of his cock. JC eagerly swallowed it. Nick looked down at his lover as he sucked on his cock and saw the look of pure pleasure on JC's face. JC loved to suck cock and Nick knew it. Nick loved it too but JC always put all of his passion into it. Just as he would with his music. Nick was just about to surrender himself to his orgasm when he realized that JC had stopped. Nick looked down at his lover. JC was laying on his his lap looking lovingly at Nick's throbbing cock. Everyonce in a while he would reach out with his tongue and give his cock a lick sending waves of pleasure through Nick's body. "Umm sweetie?" Nick asked in a ragged breath.

"Yes dear?" JC asked with his naughty look on his cute face.

"Why did you stop?" Nick asked with a small pout. JC giggled as he slid Nick's cock back into his mouth. JC was a master teaser. He knew how to keep Nick in suspense. JC continued his assault on poor Nick and his rock hard cock. Finally after twenty minutes of very pleasurable torture JC finally took Nick over the edge and Nick blasted his load down JC's throat. JC happily swallowed his lover cum and cleaned him up. Than he snuggled back up to Nick and laid his head on Nick's cheat. JC looked up at Nick and smiled innocently up at him.

"Hi!" JC giggled out.

"Don't act all innocent with me," Nick scolded JC.

"I just wanted to make you feel good," JC purred as he latched onto Nick's nipple and started to suck on it.

"What about you?" Nick asked as he reached between JC's legs and took hold of his steely length. JC let out a muffled moan. "Make love to me stud!" Nick commanded JC.

"Is that a request or a command?" JC asked with his eyes gleaming.

"A request?" Nick asked sticking out his bottom lip. JC groaned as he lowered himself onto Nick's waiting body. Soon the two lovers were engaged in the ancient art of lovemaking.

Kevin woke up to a whimpering sound. He glanced down and saw Devin snuggled up to him crying his little heart out. "Hey," Kevin said softly. "What's wrong buddy?"

"Mommy," Devin whimpered out. "I miss mommy."

"I know you do sweetie," Kevin said softly as he pulled Devin into his arms. "We all miss your mommy very much. But we have to take one day at a time. And one day a long time for now we will wake up and we won't miss her as much."

"I'll still love her?" Devin asked with a scared look on his face.

"Of course you will still love her!" KEvin said with shock. "Oh Devin you must never forget your mother. Your mother will always be part of your life. She will always love you and she will always be with you. She loves so much."

"I wish she was here," Devin said with his adorable little pout. Kevin wanted to do anything in the world to take away his son's pain. He was his father and he was powerless to do anything about his son's pain. He looked up to see Justin standing in the doorway. Justin was wearing a pair of boxers and no shirt. Kevin's crotch twitched with morning excitement as he beheld just how good looking Justin was. He mentally shook his head to clear his thoughts as he waved Justin in. Justin walked over and sat next to Kevin.

"Look who is here," Kevin said to Devin. Devin looked up at Justin and than hid his face in his daddy's chest suddenly shy. "You remember Justin don't you?"

"Yea," Devin said in a small voice. "I member him." Justin laughed softly at Devin's way of talking.

"I was wondering if maybe you and I could play together sometimes," Justin suggested. Devin looked up at Kevin with a small amount of fear in his eyes.

"You must never be afraid of Justin. He is a very good friend of mine. Your daddy loves Justin very much," Kevin said looking into Justin's eyes. Justin's eyes filled with tears when Kevin said those words.

"Do you love Justin like you and mommy did?" Devin asked. Kevin sighed and looked down at his son's eyes. There was so much honesty pouring out of them that Kevin didn't dare lie. Kevin reached out and placed his hand along Justin's face. Justin sighed happily and leaned against Kevin's hand.

"Yes son," Kevin replied still looking into Justin's eyes. By now tears were flowing out of Justin's eyes. "Yes I love Justin very much. And I hope he feels the same way about me."

"I think he does," Justin whispered.

"Daddy?" Devin asked looking at his daddy and Justin with curious glances between the two of them. "Can I go eat now?" Kevin and Justin released a nervous laugh. Leave it to a three year old to change the subject on a dime.

"Yes son," Kevin whispered still loooking into the eyes of Justin Timberlake. "You can go eat your breakfast now. Justin and I will be down in a minute." Kevin breathed a sigh of relief as Devin clamored out of his bed and took off running down the hall. Once they were alone Kevin turned to Justin. "So you want to add something?"

"Is it true?" Justin asked wiping the tears from his face.

"Yes Justin," Kevin whispered as he took Justin's hand and brought it to his lips. "I love you Justin Randall Timberlake. I dont' think I have ever stopped loving you."

Back in JC's and Nick's room.

The room was full of sounds of male flesh meeting male flesh. Sweat covered Nick and JC's bodies as JC continued to slam into Nick. Nick's legs wrapped around JC's hips as if to stop JC from leaving him. Finally Nick let out a loud moan and JC whimpered as he buried his face in Nick's heaving chest. Both men lay there convulsing as their orgasm over took their bodies. Finally Nick lowered his legs and looked down at JC. "Wow!" Nick sighed. "That was great!"

"Yea tell me about it!" JC sighed as he pulled out and laid down next to his lover. "I love you Nick Carter."

"I love you too Josh," Nick whispered. "Want to shower together?"

"I would love that," JC sighed happily. Soon both young men were in the shower. Nick was kneeling at JC's feet making love to him with his mouth. JC was moaning softly as his hips gently rocked forward and back as he slid his cock in and out of Nick's mouth.

In Kevin's room.

"I missed this," Justin whispered up at Kevin as Kevin held him in his arms as they lay on the bed snuggled close to each other. Kevin kissed Justin gently on the cheek.

"I missed this too," Kevin replied as he ran his fingers along the side of Justin's unshaven face. Justin sighed happily as he leaned into Kevin's touch. "I want to make love to you so bad. But I know we are not ready for that yet."

"This is really nice," Justin said as he snuggled closer to Kevin. "I always did love it when you held me in your arms. You could always make me fill so loved and protected."

"And I always enjoyed holding you," Kevin replied. "We used to sit like this for hours. Remember?" Justin grunted happily in responce.

"Daddy! Justin!" Devin's voice came from the hall. "Come eat breakfast with me!" Justin giggled at Devin's demands.

"I'm going to really love that boy," Justin replied as he looked up into the green eyes of Kevin.

"I want that Justin," Kevin said as he slid out from under Justin. "I want you to get to know Devin really well. I want you to be a part of his life."

"You do?" Justin asked shocked. "I mean really?"

"Of course," Kevin replied smiling. "I'm not the same guy I was all those years ago. I'm not all uptight about who knows about me being gay now. I don't care about all that stuff anymore. All I want is right now to be happy. And being with you and raising Devin is what makes me happy right now."

"Daaaaaadyyyyyyyyy!" whined Devin. Justin giggled loudly. "IIIII'MMMMMMMMMM hungry!"

"Ok ok," Kevin laughed. "We're on our way." Turning to Justin. "You'd better get some more clothes on." Justin nodded as he trotted to his room. Kevin quickly put on his clothes and headed down stairs too. Again Kevin noticed that he had a spring to his step. Kevin again felt full of life, a feeling that he was not used to having. He rounded the bend in time to see Devin being carried on the shoulders of his Godfather Nick. "Morning Nick."

"Good morning Kevin," Nick said with a grin. "What's this I hear about you making poor Devin wait for his breakfast?"

"He'll live," Kevin grinned up at Devin. "Justin and I had some stuff to work out." Kevin shivered as he felt Justin's arms incircle his narrow waist. Nick's eyebrows shot up in shock.

"You serious?" Nick asked. Kevin nodded looking lovingly at Justin. Justin blushed and looked down. "OOOOHHH I'm so happy!" Nick gushed making poor Justin blush even harder.

"Nick sweetie," JC scolded. "Stop teasing the new love birds."

"So are you going to live here with Kevin?" Nick asked as he threw his arm around Justin's shoulder.

"Umm I haven't decided yet," Justin replied giving Nick a worried look.

"We still have some stuff to work out," Kevin replied as he came to Justin's rescue. "Give us some space will you?"

"Yea sure Kevin," Nick grinned. "I'm just happy that you are going to get laid again!"

"Nick!" JC hissed at Nick. Justin let out a small whimper as he continued to blush. "You're making poor Justin blush."

"Ok I will stop," Nick replied smirking.

"Daaaaaadyyy!" Devin wined.

"Ok son," Kevin laughed. "We're going to eat."

TBC. Maybe. Let me know what you all think.
