Millennium Love Brian 13 & 14
Millennium Love Brian 13 & 14
Author's Notes: Remember email is ALWAYS welcome!
As usual: All the text in BLACK is common, but the text in BLUE is unique to that character's story. So for those that only want to read what's different between the characters, now you can.
IMPORTANT Part 14 is almost entirely different for each character, so if you haven't been reading the different perspectives, you may want to this time!
Also...I never claimed to be a song writer so please don't laugh at the song I wrote :-)
As Before: This story is a little different. For each section, you have a choice to read the story from the view point of one of the two main characters: the fictional Scott Waters or Brian Littrell. BUT: If you read the story from both view points you'll get the entire story, particularly when the characters are not together.
I apologize if I seem to be in a bit of a time warp, but the idea for the story came to me and it fit the time line (hence the story's name Millennium Love). The story starts in October 1998 and runs up to the new millennium. Also, if some events don't coincide with real events remember, it's only fiction!
Legalities: This story is fictitious. It is not meant to imply anything about any of the Backstreet Boys or anyone else. No, I am not Brian Littrell, or Scott Waters. If you're offended, go away. If you're curious, keep reading, you might like it ;-)

Thanks for reading.

Millennium Love Parts 13 & 14 - Brian
(Last time...)
My angel simply rolled his head over to look deeply into my eyes. He smiled. "I love you Brian," he said simply and my heart did somersaults. My angel, my heart, my love loved me.
I smiled tenderly back at him and wrapped my arms around him. "I love you too, Scott," I said softly.
We each held the other part of our soul as we drifted into slumber.
Part 13
I was still basically asleep when I felt a hand rubbing my chest, then begin working its way lower. Then the hand found its treasure and wrapped gently around it.
"Mmm, I could get used to that," I said softly with a laugh. I turned my head to find Scott's lips and kissed him softly. "Morning angel," I whispered.
"Morning my love," he whispered back.
"How'd you sleep last night?" I asked with a grin, remembering our bedtime activities.
Scott kissed me again. "Better than I ever have before. Thank you," he added with another kiss.
Scott crawled out of the warmth to visit the bathroom. When he returned, I reluctantly got out of the warm bed, and took care of business. It had gotten cold during the night and the room was chilled. I quickly returned to the comfort and snuggled up to Scott, holding him close. I wanted to stay like that forever and tried not to think beyond the moment.
A short time later, Scott's practicality kicked in and he asked me softly, "Love, what time are you flying out today?"
I sighed and Scott hugged me tighter. "We're leaving at three, heading back to Orlando for some meetings about the current tour and final details about the new album. We still have some final touches to put in the new CD. Then we head off to Europe for a few weeks. When Millennium comes out, we'll come back and start rehearsals and preparations for another six months of touring, at least." The reality of the entire situation began to sink in and my voice dropped to a whisper. It all seemed pointless if not hopeless. Why would Scott do this to himself?
Scott simply held me tightly, trying to make me feel better. "Brian, baby, listen to me. I know, no, we know its not going to be easy. But I've got an idea I've been working on that may make it possible for me to visit you more often. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to give us a chance. Are you?"
He continued to amaze me, and I rolled to face him. "Angel, I love you. Whatever it takes."
We lazed around in bed for another hour, talking, still getting to know each other. I'm not sure if it was Scott's or my stomach that growled first.
I rolled out of bed, leaning back to kiss my angel. "Stay here where it's warm angel. I'll sacrifice my body to go out to the *cold* kitchen and make breakfast." I was hoping to make him feel guilty, but it failed miserably.
He smiled sweetly and said, "Love, that's a huge sacrifice you're making. I promise that if you don't come back, because you turned into a popsicle, that I'll tell everyone what a selfless thing you did for me."
I stuck out my tongue before reaching into the overnight bag for some track pants. I would have stayed with just the boxers, but it was too damn cold.
I got out to the kitchen and began rummaging through his cupboards. I tried to decide what to make. While touring, I didn't get a chance to do much of my own cooking, but I wasn't bad. I pulled some eggs out of the fridge, then the bacon. I found a loaf of bread in the freezer. I decided to go with French toast, when I found the bottle of real maple syrup. I heated up the frying pan and soaked the bread in the beaten eggs. The leftover eggs, I decided to scramble instead of throwing away. I made some tea for Scott and a cup of instant coffee for myself. I'd have to buy him a coffee maker and real coffee, for when I came to visit. I stopped and smiled to myself, `That sounds like such a normal thing to do.' I couldn't believe how happy I was. I found the red tray Scott had used the day before and set everything on it.
As I walked back into the bedroom, I noticed Scott closing the screen on his laptop.
"Wow, I had no idea you could cook!" he said.
I grinned, "there's a lot about me you have yet to learn!"
"Mmm, something to look forward to," Scott said as I set the tray down on the bed. "You know, this breakfast in bed thing is becoming quite the habit with us."
"Hey, are you complaining?" I laughed.
"Not a chance." He replied and accepted the cup of tea I gave him. I could tell he was as hungry as I was, so I sat down and we began to eat.
We sat, ate and talked until almost eleven, when my cell phone rang. I sighed, then reached into my overnight bag for the phone.
"Hello Kevin." I said, not even waiting to find out who it was. I already knew.
"Hey Brian just wanted to remind you we're leaving at three. I was wondering if you wanted me to pack up your stuff? You could meet us at the airport at two-thirty. The hotel will pick up the rental there." I had to smile. Kevin was trying to help as much as he could and I loved him for it.
"Thanks Kevin, I'd appreciate that. I owe you one. See you at the airport." I closed the phone and looked at Scott. "How long does it take to get to Pearson Airport from here?"
I watched as Scott thought it over, before finally saying, "Well, to play it safe, I'd say about two hours. Why?"
"Kevin said he'd pack my room for me so I can meet them at the airport." I sighed. "Which means I have to leave by twelve thirty to get there by two thirty." I couldn't stop the tears, as I realized how soon I had to leave my newly found life. "Its not enough time, Scott," I said sadly.
"I know." he said as he stroked my shoulder. "Why don't we shower and get dressed? Then I'll show you my idea for keeping in touch. Okay?"
"Okay," I said with a smile. "Want to wash my back?" I asked not wanting to miss a minute with him.
Grinning, Scott crawled off the bed, pulling me towards the bathroom. Scott was already naked so I quickly ripped off my track pants and boxers before joining him in the bathroom.
I started the water while Scott pulled out two giant bath sheets. We stepped into the shower and I was closest to the water. Scott took the shampoo and squeezed some into his hand. He massaged it through my hair as I stood there absorbing the feel of his hands on my scalp. Once done with my hair, he moved on to my body. He pulled out a cloth and began to gently wash every part of me. I was grateful he didn't spend to long at my groin because just having him close to me was arousing enough. Once done he pushed me back under the spraying water to rinse off. We then switched positions.
Instead of using a cloth, I took the soap in my hand and began working up lather on Scott's body. I leaned forward and whispered, "I want to remember every inch of you until next time." He smiled and closed his eyes, enjoying my touch as much as I had his.
Once I finished, Scott reluctantly turned the water off. We wrapped ourselves in the towels and walked back to the bedroom. We had taken half an hour showering, leaving us only one hour. Instead of getting dressed immediately, Scott walked over to his desk and laptop.
"Come here love," he said, pulling me onto his lap. "Do you have a laptop?"
"Yeah. I don't use it much, basically just to send email home when we're on the road." I wondered what he was up to.
"Perfect." He said then told me what he'd been working on before I brought breakfast. He'd created two new email accounts for us; my email address was runningman@can.ca while his was savingangel@can.ca. I had to laugh at the appropriate names. Scott wrote down the information, my user name and password, as well as his email address. Then he asked, "Have you ever used ICQ?"
I didn't spend too much time on my computer and shook my head. "I think Kevin uses it though," I said, recalling Kevin talking about something called ICQ.
Scott wrote down a series of numbers on the paper. "Get Kevin to show you how to set this up on your computer. Then we can talk in real time over the Internet."
"Cool!" I said. Anything that would let us keep in touch was fine with me.
Scott checked to see if he still had my cell number, then wrote his down on the page. "I'll carry my cell with me now, so I won't miss your calls, okay?"
I nodded as a new plan came to mind. I turned to look at my angel. "Scott, I would like you to come to Lexington for our Thanksgiving in November. I want you to meet my family." He smiled happily. "Will you come?" Scott nodded and pulled me to him for a kiss.
We broke apart too soon, but we both had to get dressed. I sighed and reluctantly went to my overnight, pulling out the only clothes I had left inside, a pair of black jeans and a black sweatshirt. Starting with some black boxers, I slowly got dressed. I thought about what would happen when I left. Scott was pretty much alone. I knew his family wasn't that far away, but his friends were closer. I turned to find Scott staring at me.
"Scott." I said, but got no response.
"Scott!" I said, louder the second time and he snapped out of his daze, blushing.
"Sorry love, I was just watching god's handiwork."
My turn to change color. I smiled and walked back to where Scott was still sitting in the towel. "I've been thinking about something," I said looking at him intently. "I'm being unfair to you."
Scott's eyes widened. "What do you mean?" he asked.
I tried to explain what I was thinking. "Well, I've got the guys who know about me and about us. So, if I need to talk to them I can. But you don't have anyone like that," I paused. "What I'm trying to say is that if you think your friend Drew will keep our secret, I don't mind if you tell him. I know what it's like not having anyone to talk to about your life. I don't want to put you through that."
Scott grabbed me, pulling me into a tight hug. "When you said `I'm being unfair', I thought you were going to break up with me," he whispered, which explained his reaction.
I pulled back and took his face between my hands, "Don't ever say that. I've been looking for you my entire life. Now that I've found you, I'm not letting go without a fight. Understand?" He nodded. "I love you Scott. I don't care how crazy people say we are. I don't care that I've only known you for four days. As you said before, our hearts have known each other forever." Having said that, I leaned forward and kissed him passionately, making sure he knew how I felt.
When we finally separated, we were both flushed and out of breath. Scott wisely decided to get dressed before we got carried away and I missed my plane. I could just imagine Kevin's reaction. He pulled on some old tattered jeans and a sweatshirt that looked ready to fall apart. I made sure I had everything in my overnight bag then walked out to the living room.
I sat down on the couch and noticed the photo album sitting on the shelf underneath. I pulled it out and began flipping through the pictures. I looked at the clock. It was time for me to leave. I took a couple of deep breaths to calm the knots that were forming in my gut. I didn't want to cry as I was leaving. I heard Scott walk into the room and forced a smile.
I looked up. "Scott, can I have this?" I asked indicating a picture of Scott sitting on his deck during the summer.
He smiled and took it out. "Of course love." Then he thought of something. "But whatever will I do without a picture of you?" he asked innocently, knowing very well that he could probably find a million pictures of me in magazines and on the Net.
I laughed and hugged him. "I'll mail you a *real* picture of me, not one that a few million people have seen, I promise." I said, then finally stood up. No longer able to put off the inevitable, I put my jacket on, then turned to look at my Angel. "Scott, I love you." I said as I lost my battle with the tears.
He smiled weakly, "I love you too, Brian." He kissed me tenderly, then turned me towards the car, trying to hide his own tears.
I walked out the door and to the car. Before getting in, I looked up at him standing on the stairs. "Miss you, Angel," I said, only loud enough for him to hear.
"Miss you too, love," he said as I got into the car. I waved as I pulled out and drove down the road.
Part 14
I made it to the airport in good time and parked the car. The solitary drive had helped me sort out things in my head. The words and thoughts that had been swirling around finally coalesced into a pattern, lyrics for a new song. I kept going over them in my head, not wanting to forget anything. I made my way to the first class lounge thankfully unaccosted. I found the guys lounging around, just killing time until the flight. They all jumped up when I walked in, looking at me questioning.
I managed to smile, before bursting into tears. Nick was the closest to me, so he walked over and pulled me into a tight bear hug. I cried for a few minutes missing Scott so much and afraid what this separation, so soon into our developing relationship, would do to us. I finally composed myself, and had to slap Nick gently in the head so he would release me before I suffocated.
We sat down near the others and they just waited, letting me tell things myself. I wasn't sure where to begin.
"I love him," I said softly so no one else would overhear. "And he loves me."
"That's good, isn't it?" Howie asked.
I looked up and smiled tremendously, "No, it's absolutely amazing." I was feeling better just talking to my closest friends. "I had no idea I could feel this way about anyone," I continued. "But it hurts to leave him." The others nodded, having at one time or another gone through the same thing with a girlfriend.
"When are you going to see him again?" A.J. asked quietly.
I smiled, "I invited him home for Thanksgiving, seeing as I spent the Canadian Thanksgiving with his family." They all looked stunned.
"You met his family?" Kevin asked.
I nodded. "Yeah, originally it was just to be his parents, but when we got there, almost all of his family, including his brother and two sisters, had shown up as a surprise." I looked at Kevin. "Don't worry, cus, Scott asked them not to say anything and they agreed. They were all really nice people." Kevin relaxed slightly.
Our flight was called and we gathered up our stuff for boarding. I asked Kevin if he had my laptop, or if it was packed. He said it was packed but that I could use his, if I wanted. The condition was that I look over some documents that management had sent. I agreed.
I waited until we were airborne and my stomach settled before accepting his offer. The guys had been out the night before and most were ready for some extra sleep. I started up the computer and began typing. The words just flowed out of me, through my fingers and onto the screen. I finished writing and logged onto the Net, accessing my new email account. I smiled to myself as I remembered our names. I began to type an email to Scott.
My Angel,
>From the moment I looked into the face of my `savingangel' I somehow knew that I'd come home.
Where you are is where I left my heart. Since our first kiss, I've had words floating around in my head. Finally, these words began to come together into a format I understand, a song. I'm working on the music to go with it, and hope to perform it someday. But I wanted you to be the first to read it, to know exactly how I feel. I hope you like it.
Love B. (runningman)
My Angel, My Heart
(Chorus)
The heart will always know
What I may not show
An angel oh from above
My angel, my heart, my love
Wherever my angel lives
My heart will always be
Whatever my angel gives
Only my heart ever will see
(Chorus)
A promise to my heart
Angel oh please believe
I'd die if we ever part
And I'll never, ever deceive
(Chorus)
Angel when I'm lost in night
You keep the dark at bay
My heart, you are the light
Oh please, show me the way
(Chorus)
Only my angel understands
My heart cries out - set me free
Unseen lies bind my hands
Too high the price of being me
My heart has always known
My heart has always known
My heart has always known
My angel, my heart, my love
I sent the message, then decided to call Scott and let him know I'd sent it. I just wanted to hear his voice. I dialed his cell number. The phone rang and rang. I realized that he probably hadn't thought to go out to the car to get it. I dialed his home number instead.
"Hello," Scott's groggy voice said. He'd obviously been asleep.
"Tell me, does a cell phone still ring when no one is around?" I asked him, accentuating my southern drawl.
He was suddenly wide-awake. "Brian!"
"Hi Angel," I said softly. "Just sitting here on the plane, bored to death, and wanted to hear your voice."
"I was just reliving some good memories. How are the guys?"
"Sleeping!" I said with a laugh. "I'm totally rested and they're all wiped out from clubbing last night, even Kevin. He left me with some work to do because he's too hung over. Quite a rarity." I paused. "By the way, I sent you some email. All I'll say is that it's a song. So, let me know what you think." A flight attendant came along to tell me we were landing soon and I would have to shut off the cell phone. "I have to go now. We can't use cell phones while the plane is landing. We have a dinner meeting tonight, but I'll call later. Miss you angel."
"Miss you too," he said as he hung up the phone.
It was after midnight when I finally made it home to the apartment. I was exhausted so I could only imagine how the others were feeling. I flopped down on my bed and picked up the phone. I'd been waiting all evening to talk to Scott and find out what he thought about the song.
"Hello."
"Hello, Angel," I said softly.
"Brian love," he breathed. "I miss you. God I wish I could see you to show you how much that song means to me. It's so incredible, like you. Thank you." I could hear the emotion in his voice and knew that he liked it.
"Some day I'll sing it to you, I promise." I told him.
We talked only briefly because I kept falling asleep.
"Brian," Scott said and I forced my eyes open.
"Hmmm."
"Brian, my heart, hang up the phone and go to sleep. I'll talk to you tomorrow or whenever you want to call me, okay."
I reluctantly agreed. "I love you Scott. I can't wait till Thanksgiving when we can be together again. Miss you."
"Love and miss you too, love," he said and hung up the phone. It was only a few seconds until I was fast asleep.
The next morning I woke up at ten. We didn't have anything scheduled until the afternoon so we all slept late. I was too happy to stay in bed. I missed Scott like crazy, but I was confident in his love for me, and knew I would hear from him sometime during the day. I showered, shaved and dressed, then went to the kitchen to make coffee and breakfast. I made enough scrambled eggs and bacon for Kevin and Howie, assuming they would be up shortly.
I wandered around the apartment trying to find something to do. I began to clean. During the past two months, we hadn't been home for more than a couple of days at a time. The place was a disaster. I started humming as I worked and a little while later heard a door open as Howie made an appearance. A few minutes later Kevin showed his face. They were both groggy and grateful for the coffee. They kept looking at me.
The apartment buzzer rang and I looked at the monitor to see who it was. It was my Mom. I buzzed her up and went to open the door.
"Hi Mom, come on in. Want some coffee?" I asked as we walked into the kitchen.
"Morning Aunt Jackie."
"Morning Jackie." Kevin and Howie said, still not quite awake.
Mom sat down and accepted the mug I gave her. I started doing the pile of dishes that was in the sink from the last time we'd been home. I kept humming, trying to find the right sound for Scott's song. Mom drank her coffee and watched me. Finally she turned to Kevin and Howie.
"Okay, boys. What have you done with my son?" She asked them. They both looked up from their cups and looked at my Mom, then at me. I simply looked at her, unable to take the smile off my face.
"Hey don't look at us," Kevin protested. "It's not our fault." With that, he and Howie went out to the living room, leaving Mom and I alone.
She walked over to me looking at me intently. A smile crept over her face. "So?" she asked.
I couldn't hold back any longer. I grinned, then laughed, pulling her into a hug and twirling her around. "Oh Mom, I'm in love!"
She pulled back and smiled. "Obviously!"
We sat down at the table. I didn't know where to begin. So I told her the basics. "His name is Scott Waters, and he lives near Toronto. He works in computers. He has black curly hair and incredible bright green eyes."
I saw a shadow of concern flash over her face and I reached out to touch her hand. "Mom, don't worry. He received the stamp of approval from the other guys, including Kevin." I turned serious. "I can't really explain it Mom, but as Scott and I both said, it's like we found the other half of our souls. We're not rushing blindly into anything. We both realize that this won't be easy, with my schedule and having to keep it secret." I silently pleaded with her to try to understand. "I invited him to Kentucky for Thanksgiving," I finally said.
She looked at me intently and could see how serious and happy I was. The smile returned to her face. "Brian, if this Scott can put a smile like that on your face, then he must be something special. I can't wait to meet him," she said honestly.
I was relieved. More than anyone, I was worried what Mom would think. I knew that once she met Scott, she would see that he was the only one for me, and accept him into the family.
We fell into a pattern. I called Scott every night and he would send me emails throughout the day. I would have much preferred to be with him in person, but by talking and writing, we really got to know each other. We were only in Orlando for a week before taking off to Europe for a brief four-week tour. Scott and I had to coordinate time zones so that I wasn't calling him at three in the morning.
I insisted on booking a first class ticket for Scott to Kentucky on November 25, the day before Thanksgiving. He tried to pay for it himself but I wouldn't let him. I'd planned a surprise for him. I was going to fly up to Toronto in the morning and fly with him to Kentucky. I wasn't a fan of flying, but Scott had never been in a plane before so I didn't want him to fly alone.
