====================================== My Kinda Guy -- Chapter 2 by JT Poole

// Tampa, FL -- The Carter House //

"How long is it going to take you to tell us what's bothering you son?" Jane Carter asked.

"I don't know mom, I am just not ready to talk about it yet." Nick stated as he got up off the couch and walked into the other room.

"Well since you are so down, you have some guest outside that just drove

up." Jane stated as she peeked out of the curtains.

"Who mom? I just want to be by myself." Nick stated as Brian, Leighanne, their baby and Kevin walked into the house.

"Well you should have thought about that before you came back home." Jane stated as Kevin and Brian gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Hello Jane how are you doing?" Kevin asked.

"I am doing okay, just a little bit worried about Nick." Jane stated. "Ever since he did that last show in Washington, he has been like a zombie."

"I am not like a zombie." Nick stated walking into the living room.

"Yes you are. You come out of your room to eat and then you sulk around here all day." Jane stated.

"Sounds like a zombie to me." Brian stated. "Come on Nick, what's bothering you? We are here to help you."

"There's nothing none of you can do to help me." Nick stated as he walked out of the room and ran up the stairs to his room, slamming the door behind him.

"Well that went pretty well." Kevin stated. "Come on Bri, let's me and you go talk to him."

"I don't think that's a good idea. He's been very moody, I don't want him to lash out or anything at the two of you." Jane stated.

"Don't worry about us Jane, we have put up with him in the past. We are going to get to the bottom of this. I think I already know what the problem is." Brian stated.

"You do?" Jane asked. "What is it?"

"I don't fully know yet, but me and Kev are about to find out." Brian stated as he and Kev turned and walked up the stairs to Nick's room.

// Nick's Room //

"Why can't they just leave me alone." Nick stated, as there was a knock at the door.

"Nicky let us in." Kevin stated, still knocking on the door.

"No, just go away and leave me alone guys." Nick stated as tears came to his eyes and he started crying.

"Nick are you crying?" Kevin asked.

"No, just leave me alone. Don't you understand that I just want to be left alone?" Nick stated, full out crying now.

"We are not going to leave you alone Nick until you talk to us." Brian stated.

"Go away." Nick stated.

"No and that's final. We will stay here all night if we have too." Kevin stated.

"Fine, do whatever you want." Nick stated, giving in to Brian and Kevin's wishes.

"What's got you so upset?" Brian asked.

"Nothing, just take this for an excuse and leave me alone." Nick stated.

"I know what's bothering you." Kevin stated. "Are you depressed about not having someone?"

"No, that's not it." Nick stated.

"Then what is it?" Kevin asked.

"You acted this way when I got married to Kristin, and you did the same thing when Brian got married to Leighanne." Kevin stated. "What's causing you to have these bouts of depression?"

"Alright alright. I am depressed. I am mad because everyone else has someone and I don't are you happy now?" Nick asked.

"No I am not happy now." Kevin stated. "You have plenty of people that love you."

"Yeah I have plenty of people that love me, just don't have anyone to love me." Nick stated.

"Yes you do Nick, we all love you." Brian stated.

"As a family, but I want someone to love me and a romantic, sexual way." Nick stated as he started crying again. "All of you have gotten married or has someone and I am the lone one."

"Oh Nick. You are not alone." Brian stated, leaning over to hug Nick.

"I am alone." Nick stated as he pushed Brian away. "I'm all alone with no one to love me."

"What about Manda, Tiffany, and Amber?" Brian asked. "Didn't they love you?"

"No no no no!" Nick screamed.

"Nick what's going on?" Brian asked.

"I am gay! I am gay alright!" Nick screamed as he got up and ran out of the room, down the stairs and out the front door as his mother, and Leighanne watched in shock as he went by.

"Oh my god, he's gay? No wonder he's been so down and depressed." Kevin stated.

"Now that I think of it, I think he's telling the truth." Brian stated.
