The following story was originally written for a german website and later printed in my first book "Der Neuanfang". After I translated my story "Never saw a miracle" into english and getting lots of good feedback, I decided to translate this story, too. Some readers wrote me that I don't have to apologize for my English -- so I won't anymore g.
The story is set in Germany, so of course there are a few things unfamiliar to people from other countries. As example temperatures are given in degrees centigrade: 0 C are 32 F, minus 5 C are 23 F and so on. If there are any things you don't understand, please feel free to ask me about it. I love getting emails anyway, and I'd like to say my thankyous to all of you who already wrote me.
There are two other stories of mine published here on niftys:
"Never saw a miracle" in the gay/highschool section
and
"Different" in the gay/no-sex section
If someone is interested in reading the original german story, it's here:

Look for "Peter's Stories". And if some is interested in buying my books (in german language, of course): they can be bought directly from me, even with my signature which will be worth millions when I'm a Nobel prize winner someday -- lol...
I'm sorry for the delay, but with job, family and especially the Olympics I didn't have much time on my hands to translate.
But now let the play begin...

A new beginning -- Part 15
Copyright 2001-2006 by Peter Conrad, Peter_Co@web.de
For a change I had a very quiet and restful night. I don't know what I dreamt about, but I'm sure that it was something wonderful. Still I woke up early -- early at least for me. It was only half past seven, and nothing could hold me any longer in my bed. I was awake since 7am, recapitulating the events of the last days. Not everything went the way I would have liked it, but still, the end result made up for everything!
As I said, it was 7.30am when I sat up in my bed. I looked to the other bed, where my little brother still was deep in morpheus arms. And judging from the smile on his face he had a nice dream, too. Thankfully I didn't have a reason anymore to be jealous of him.
On the quiet soles of my cuddly one-piece-pyjama I went to the window to close it. The thermometer said --9, the winter was still in full swing. I started up the heating, then I went to the bathroom to do all the things you have to do in the morning. Well, I had to look perfect for Flip! Even though it wasn't really necessary I shaved to get rid of a few meddlesome stubbles. Brushing my teeth took twice the usual time, and I used so high concentrated mouth wash that it almost burned (well, I can't kiss Philipp with bad breathe!). A little aftershave, a little deodorant, thankfully I didn't need to spend much time on my hair.
When I was done I carefully examined my naked body in the mirror. Okay, I wasn't model material, but still I was quite satisfied with myself. The last bits of puppy fat were long gone, but on the otherhand I wasn't so thin that you could count my rips.
"I guess I really should be glad that you're gay or I would need to worry about Veronika prefering you over me."
I winced when I heard Tims first words. With a big smile covering his whole face he stood in the door -- I hadn't even noticed him opening the door, I was too deep in my self-examination.
"Do you have to startle me this way?"
"Yes, I need to use the toilet. Now hurry up or I'll piss my pants."
"Okay, okay, I'm out."
I grabbed my pyjama and only at this moment I realized that I once again was stark naked infront of my brother. Shit, maybe I really was a closet streaker?
I left the bathroom and my brother. Back in our room I donned the first layer of clothing for the day. It was shortly after 8am, I wasn't in the bathroom as long as I thought.
Now I went down to the kitchen, where my mom already was preparing breakfast.
"Hi mom."
"Good morning, Danny. Slept well?"
"Yes, thanks, very well."
"I won't ask you why..."
Haha.
"You're hungry?"
"Sure."
A moment later I had my plate with rolls and a cup of hot tea infront of me -- and I made short work of it.
"Daniel..."
Ohoh. Daniel. What have I done this time?"
"Yes?"
"Danny... I don't want to get on your nerves, but... I just have to be sure. I know, we already talked about it, but still... I just want to ask you to not rush things with Philipp. Take your time, and if you two ... well ... you know what I mean! When you get intimate, please play it safe, okay? You still have rubbers, don't you?"
My face went red like a stop light.
"Mom! I'm eating!"
"No, you don't, I waited till you were done. I'll never bother you with again, but I'm still your mother, and I worry about you."
"Okay, okay, but don't worry anymore. We won't rush into sex, and when it finally happens we'll be careful. I promise."
"Good, I only wanted to hear that. Now, when and where will you meet today?"
"I'll pick Flip up at home around 9am."
"You know where he lives?"
Damned! I knew his phone number, but where he lived I didn't know yet. But okay, that's what loving mothers are for.
"No. Where do I have to go?"
"Doerrenstreet 7. You know where it is?"
"Yes, no problem, thanks. It's only a ten minutes walk."
I got up from my seat.
"When should I be home again? I mean because of lunch?"
"We won't eat before 1pm, Reinhardt and I have to go out for a while, too. If you can't make it, please call us or leave a message on the answering machine."
"No problem."
"Here you have a little money. You know best what you need to buy."
Yes, I knew it, and going shopping alone (or with a cutie like Flip) was much better than going with mom. When I took the money my eyes became big a saucers -- and of course mom noticed it.
"That doesn't mean that you have to spend all of it!"
What a shame. 300 Euros!
"Danny, Reinhardt and I decided something. Some of this money is for getting you a cell phone."
YEEEEES! Finally!
"But don't think that we'll pay for all your calls! You buy a prepaid package, and we'll give you 5 Euro a month. Everything else you have to pay with your own money. And don't come to us whining if your allowance isn't enough. Understood?"
"Yes! Thanks, mom. But why the sudden change?"
"After everything what happened over the last days we thought that it would be better and safer if we always could reach you -- or if you always be able to call for help. You can thank Reinhardt for convincing me."
That I would definitely do!
"Okay. What about Tim, will he get one, too?"
"We have to talk with him about it, until now he didn't show much interest in it."
"What did I show no interest in?"
Talk about the devil (or the angel?) ... the next hungry mouth took his place on the breakfast table.
"Tim, I'll get..."
"Good morning everyone!"
The last missing family member joined us in the kitchen. We greeted him, than Tim turned back to me.
"What do you get?"
"A cell phone."
"So you finally whined enough..."
I grinned at him happily.
"I have to get a move now, I don't want to be late. Tim, you got plans for today?"
"I'll meet with Veronika and Kevin at the ice rink. But not before 10am."
Now why wasn't I surprised? But okay, he deserved it.
I went back up to our room and faced the difficult problem about what to wear. At the end I decided on a quite conservative style: bluejeans and a checkered fleece shirt. A look at my watch: still early. But I was much to nervous and impatient to wait any longer, I just had to go to Philipp! I completed my wardrobe with jacket, shoes, hat and gloves, said goodbye to the rest of the family, then I left the house.
To say that I walked to Philipp wouldn't be the truth. I floated as if I was on cloud nine, and only 8 minutes later I reached the door of his house. After a short, nervous hesitation I rang the bell.
I didn't have to wait long before the door was opened by Mrs. Stein.
"Oh, hello Danny. We didn't expect you so early."
Shit, it really was just half past 8.
"I'm sorry. I can go and come back later?"
"No no, come in."
She didn't need to tell this twice, and I followed her into the house.
"Good morning, Mrs. Stein. I'm really sorry that I'm to early."
"No problem, Danny. I guess you just couldn't wait any longer..."
A knowing smile showed up on her face. Was I so easy to read?
"Ahem..."
"You don't have to say more, Danny, it's okay. But I'm afraid that you'll have to wait a little longer for Philipp, I just woke him up a few minutes ago. After yesterday he had troubles with falling asleep, so we let him sleep a little longer this morning."
"No problem, I can wait."
Really? Well, I guess I'll survive the wait.
"Give me your jacket. And please take of your shoes."
I did what she asked me, then she lead me into the living room, where a blonde man with laughter lines on his face waited for us.
"Heiner, this is Danny Thom, Philipps friend. Danny, this is my husband, Flips dad."
My heart was racing at top speed now and loud enough to be heard in the whole house. At least I thought so. I sized up Flips dad, trying to find out what to expect from him. But my ability to read faces abandoned me, I only noticed an curious, interested look from his deep blue eyes. For a couple of seconds we looked at each other in silence. Then it was time to hear the verdict.
"I see. So you're the one who turned our oldests head..."
I became more and more nervous. Even from his voice I couldn't find out what he thought about me. What did he mean with "turning flips head"? I sure hope not that he thought I seduced his son to being gay!
"I only have a few words to say to you."
Shit, now it came! I guess not everything was going so well as Philipp said on the phone!
"Welcome to the family!"
What? Did I hear this right? I slowly raised my eyes, which I just had pointed on the floor, up to Mr. Steins face and ... found a wide smile on it!
"Heiner! How could you scare the poor boy!"
"Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Don't worry, Danny, everything is okay. We spent the last few days thinking about what it would mean if Philipp was gay. And you know what? The only thing that counts is, that he's happy. If you're the one making him happy, than you're more than welcome in our house. But always remember one thing: break his heart and there's no place on earth to hide from me!"
I guess that was it. And I wasn't afraid of his threat.
"Mr. Stein, I won't break your sons heart, I'll never could hurt him. I'm totally serious, I love him!"
"I hope for you that you keep this promise! If not there won't be enough left of you for dad to make his threat true! I'd find you before him!"
O shit, now even my boyfriends little sister was threatening me. What a family!
"Hi Veronika. You can count on it, I'll never hurt your brother. At least not intenionally."
"I hope so. By the way, where is Flip?"
"He just got out of bed, he had a short night. Danny, if you want, go up to him. Second room on the left side."
"Should I? I mean, I don't want to push him."
"Hehe, he sometimes needs to be pushed a bit, or he'll dawdle too long."
I shrugged my shoulders, then I did what I was asked. Up the stairs, first door, second door -- here it was! I knocked, but there was no reaction. I knocked again, this time a little louder, but still: no answer. I took al the courage I could muster, opened the door and stepped into an ... empty room? Okay, not really empty, there was furniture, but no Philipp.
I used the opportunity to look around his room. A typical teenagers room, not extremely tidy, the bed only superficially made after the night, on the desk a little chaos made of school stuff and a computer. A few book shelves, mostly with science fiction and thrillers. In one corner of the room a big closet. But no pictures or posters on the walls. Hm. I just had put a new B3 poster on the wall in my room, and Tim one of Lara Croft. But in Flips room? Nothing. Nada. Not even a movie or sports poster. I guess I just have to ask him about it.
"Danny!"
Oops. I guess I was lost so much in my own thoughts that I didn't notice that the owner of the room (and the reason I was here!) had entered the room. I turned to the door, and there he was, Philipp in all his glory! Sadly his cute body was covered with his thermal underwear, but still: breathtaking. And then I noticed another detail: Philipp had on glasses! And they suited him very well, they emphasized his already cute face even more. I couldn't look at him enough, and my mind went wandering off into dreamland again.
"Danny! What's wrong with you?"
Oops again...
"Ahem... sorry! Hi Flip!"
"Hi Danny. What was wrong with you?"
"Nothing. It's just that I haven't seen you with glasses before."
"Shit!"
Faster than I could look Philipp took off is glasses, hiding them in his left hand, almost breaking them and looking down on the floor.
"Why did you take them off? They looked really cool."
He raised his head a bit and gave me a doubtful look.
"Really?"
"Yes, absolutely!"
Ha! A small smile showed up on his lips.
"It's just... When I first needed glasses a few years ago I was often teased by the other kids. They called me foureyes and so on. As soon as I was allowed I switched to contacts. Glasses I only wear at home or when I can't use contacts."
"Forget those idiots. Believe me, Flip, they really look good on you."
"Does this mean that I should always wear glasses now?"
"That means that I don't care if you wear glasses or contacts. You're always looking good to me!"
I walked over to Philipp, so we stood facing each other, and took the glasses from his hand.
"May I?"
He nodded, and I carefully put the glasses on him again.
"Now you at least can see me properly."
"Great!"
The next moment we hugged, and only seconds later our lips found each other. Finally I was able to put Tims kissing lesson to good use! Sadly, just when we were really deep into it and I wanted to suggest that we go shopping another day our privacy was disturbed. Kids feet came trampling and we were just be able to let go of each other when already a pyjama wearing Kevin came running and jumped into his big brothers arms.
"Flip!"
"Good morning, Kevin."
Philipp threw the little rascal into the air two times (and of course also caught him again), and the little boy was giggling happily. While flying through the air Kevin noticed that he wasn't alone with his brother.
"He you!"
"Hi Kevin."
"What are you doing here?"
"I came to pick up your brother. We'll go shopping."
"Great! Can I come?"
We both looked at Philipp, but he shook his head.
"Don't you want to go ice skating with Vroni and Tim?"
"Yessss! I want to go ice skating!"
"Then I guess you should go to the bathroom and then dress up warmely. Don't forget, mom will check if you're dressed up properly."
"No, I don't want to wear tights!"
I had to grin, that sounded a bit too familiar.
"Then you can't go ice skating."
"Okay..."
And off he was, leaving his smiling brother behind.
"Is the little one always that hyper?"
"No, not always. Usually he's much worse."
"Flip?"
"Yes?"
"You don't know how much I missed you over the last hours."
"Not as much as I missed you."
Again we were in each others arms, but this time we managed to let go of each other after a few moments.
"You're quite early, Danny."
"I know, I just couldn't stand it any longer not being with you."
"Did someone tell you already that you're sweet?"
"No. Did you taste it with your tongue?"
Now Philipp laughed loudly.
"Yes, that too. Okay, I guess I have to dress up."
"If you REALLY need to..."
Again I was awarded with a wide smile, then the blonde angel who I was totally in love with covered his body with another layer of clothing. Light blue jeans and a white fleece shirt. Okay, if he really had to cover his body with clothes at least they looked very good at him. Especially because the jeans were quite a tight fit, emphasizing his great body!
"But now I'll switch to contacts."
"Why?"
"Because I don't want to turn blind with steamed up glasses everytime we step into a store."
Oh. I guess he was right. He went into the bathroom and shortly later came back with the glasses in his hand.
"Now I'm ready. I only need a good breakfast, then we can go."
We went down to the kitchen, where his whole family already was sitting at the table.
"Finally, there you are. What kept you so long? No, wait, I don't want to know."
"Mom! When I just was starting to dress up Kevy came into my room and I had to play with him for a while."
Ah yes. When he just was starting to dress up. Nice name for what we really did when Kevin disturbed us. But I guess that was something Flips parents really didn't need to know.
"Okay, you two, sit down, breakfast is ready. Danny, you'll eat with us, don't you?"
"Actually I just had breakfast half an hour ago."
"Come on, you're a growing boy, and knowing my own growing boys I'm sure you're already hungry again."
I grinned, she knew my number. As if I ever said no to such an invitation...
