~::Ocean Blue Chapter 5::~

As Aiden lost himself in the moment he couldn't help thinking how unbelievable all this was. Him sitting on his couch kissing the perfect guy who had the perfect body, the perfect smile, the perfect eyes, the perfect everything. Everything was just perfect. Too perfect. Aiden immediately broke the kiss and firmly pushed Tristan away.

"What's wrong?" Tristan asked startled, thinking he had done something. But then after all he wasn't the one who started the kiss.

"T-t-this isn't r-r-r-eal." Aiden managed to stutter out.

"What?" Tristan asked confused. He had no idea what Aiden meant, but then again Aiden really didn't know either. All through high school people barley spoke two kind words to him let alone kiss him. This couldn't be right. Aiden was nothing special, he could barely even talk without sounding like an idiot. Tristan had to have some sort of ulterior motive.

" W-w-hat d-do you w-want from me?" Aiden blurted out and immediately regretted noticing how Tristan looked like someone kicked his dog. Hard.

"Wha-...I just thought....I mean I like you Aiden." Tristan said putting enough emphasis on the word like so that Aiden got his point. "And I uh thought you liked me too, cuz you kissed me and all and..."

"You r-r-really l-like m-me?" Aiden said in disbelief cutting off Tristan and his rambling. Tristan just nodded and looked away, embarrassed. "W-wow" Aiden breathed softly. He believed Tristan now, but there was still that voice in the back of his head. Taunting him, telling him it could never be true. "W-why?" Aiden asked genuinely curious.

Tristan turned to look Aiden in the eyes, wanting him to see how honest he was being, " Well for starters you're absolutely gorgeous." Aiden blushed and looked away, but Tristan grabbed his hand forcing him to look in his direction, "No I mean it, you're breathtaking, but that's not everything, I mean your smile, your laugh, your eyes, everything. Everything about you is just so innocent and adorable." Tristan finished with a blush.

Aiden just stared at Tristan with his mouth hanging open a little. Him? Innocent and adorable. Wow. A few seconds passed in silence until Aiden finally realized it was his turn to say something.

"Ok," He mumbled "Um thanks."

Tristan didn't know what to say to that so he just smiled and hoped it was enough. The sat in silence for a few more minutes, this time a comfortable one until Tristan realized he promised to have lunch with Chad. Tristan would have much rather spent the remainder of his free time with Aiden, but he had always been a loyal person and would have felt bad for just not showing up, no matter how much of a jerk Chad was.

"Um Aiden, I kind of made plans to meet some people for lunch so..."

Aiden frowned, he knew it was too good to be true. Tristan noticed this and quickly realized what that must have sounded like.

"You could come, I mean if you want to, I mean I want you to, but you don't have to..." Tristan said falling into his old habit of babbling when he was nervous.

"O-ok." Aiden said nodding.

Tristan just broke out in this huge grin, "Cool."

20 minutes later Tristan hopped out of his car and looked around for Aiden. After five minutes passed, and Aiden still hadn't shown, Tristan figured Aiden had most likely got stuck in what he liked to call the "lunch rush" . He'd only been here a day, but it was a universal truth. Trying to get on and off campus anytime before or after lunch was absolute hell. He figured Aiden would be a good 10 minutes or so and decided to head out. Before they left Tristan had told Aiden where he was going to be, so he knew Aiden wouldn't have a problem finding him.

When Tristan entered the cafeteria he could immediately spot Chad and his friends. They were all sitting at the table in the center of the room. Tristan wasn't really surprised, where else would they sit? He took a deep breath and made his way over to the table, hoping Aiden would show up soon.

"Hey, Tristan, I almost thought you weren't gonna show up man, what happened?" Chad asked hurriedly as Tristan got closer, "Here, I saved ya a seat man." Chad finished, without bothering to wait for Tristan's answer.

Tristan wordlessly took his seat trying to ignore the giggling, coming from the girls who he assumed were cheerleaders. He knew they were checking him out, each wanting to get a hand on him before the other. Now Tristan wasn't conceited, but he wasn't stupid either. You don't fake the `cool, on -top-of-the-world, jock' for four years and not learn something.

"Hi, I'm Amy." The blond across from said sticking her hand in his face.

"Nice to meet you Amy, I'm Tristan." Tristan answered, turning on the charm. He couldn't help it, it was part reflex and part him. He'd always been a very social, very confident person. He just couldn't help himself. Amy blushed and turned to giggle with her friend sitting next to her. After a few minutes of a conversation about football, Tristan began to get restless and wonder what was taking Aiden so long. He was on his fifth look around the cafeteria, when he got caught,

"Bored?" a voice from his right said, sounding amused.

Tristan turned to observe the face attached the voice, and he wasn't going to lie, she was gorgeous. He was gay, not blind. She had her shiny black hair curled into ringlets, a very smooth face, and piercing green eyes that immediately reminded him of Aiden, which is probably the only reason he gave her an honest answer.

"Incredibly," He answered with a sigh, "I'm waiting for a .um...friend." What exactly was Aiden to him now?

"I see, I'm Kelly, it's nice to finally meet you Tristan." She said with a confident smile. There was something about her, Tristan couldn't help but notice, something good.

"Finally?" He asked curiously.

Kelly just laughed, "Yes, finally. All I've been hearing since yesterday is a rumor about this gorgeous boy with the amazing eyes. Never thought it'd be true."

Somehow she had managed to say that without any hint of flirting whatsoever. Tristan laughed, becoming immediately comfortable with her. He was about to reply when something at the door caught his eye.

Aiden walked into the cafeteria feeling INCREDIBLY uncomfortable and agitated. Not only did he just fight his way through fifteen minutes of traffic, he was in the cafeteria. Back when he was first outed almost half his beatings took place, or started here, so he had a right to feel uneasy. He spotted Tristan and his heart dropped straight down into his stomach, making him nauseous. Surrounding Tristan was about a good portion of the football team and some cheerleaders, but more importantly Chad Baker, and even MORE importantly who was that girl Tristan was laughing with? She was gorgeous that's for sure.

Aiden decided to just try and sneak out of the cafeteria, hoping Tristan hadn't noticed him. He was obviously having a good time and Aiden didn't want to ruin that, he'd explain later. Just as he was about to make his exit though, someone called his name, and he knew immediately it could only be one person. Tristan was smiling like there was no tomorrow and waving at Aiden, obviously waiting on him to join them. Aiden took a deep breath and decided to risk it. His feet felt like they were encased in concrete slabs as he made his way over and the sandwich he had before Tristan came over was trying desperately to hurl itself out of Aiden's stomach.

The girl next to Tristan quickly moved over to allow Aiden to sit down and Aiden was grateful. He REALLY didn't want to have to sit next to Chad.

"Hey." Tristan said smiling "What happened?"

"T-traffic." Aiden said shrugging.

Tristan opened his mouth to say something else, when he was interrupted by a very angry Chad.

"What the fuck are you doing here fag? Do you have a death wish or something?!"

Aiden blanched and looked down at the table, violently shaking his head. He felt like he was in a dream...no...a nightmare.

"Hey man, shut the fuck up, he's cool." Tristan said quickly glaring at Chad and Chad glared right back.

For a moment it was like watching one of the shows on the Discovery Channel. They were like the lion and the cheetah. Tristan protecting Aiden like he was his young, daring Chad to try and attack him. It was clear that neither boy was going to back down. Chad being the school's "golden boy" sure as hell wasn't going to just let Tristan talk to him like that and Tristan being a former "golden boy" knew exactly what was going on in Chad's head, and in any other situation, had he not been protecting Aiden, he might of just let it go. But not this time, not when it came to Aiden.

The silence stretched on and everyone at the table grew tense, until a voice spoke up,

"Yeah, Chad just shut the hell up, he's cool." it spoke.

Kelly. Tristan KNEW there was something he liked about her. Another voice spoke up, and another, and another, all telling Chad to shut up ending with Amy's,

"Yeah Chad, leave him alone, besides, Aiden's cute." She said with a wink.

Tristan was to caught up in the moment to feel any jealously. Chad was pissed. Everything had changed, and in a big way. Maybe it wasn't historical, but no one who ever attended that high school after them would forget it. The day Chad Baker was knocked off his throne and there was a predominant shift in the High School's Hierarchy.

The rest of the lunch was fairly calm, not counting Chad fuming and pouting so hard, he looked like he was going to strain something. Aiden and Tristan talked mostly to Kelly and some other people who were actually very nice and entertaining, much to both Aiden and Tristan's surprise. Everyone kept saying how if anyone messed with Aiden they would have to answer to them and such. Aiden had to fight the tears welling up in his eyes, it was like a dream come true. He walked away from lunch, with a new friend (Kelly), and feeling like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. Tristan on the other hand walked away from lunch incredibly happy that Aiden was protected, but a little apprehensive as to what he had just done. Knocking the most popular guy in school off his high horse on your second day at a new school was pretty monumental and he knew by the end of the day everyone would know, complements of the grapevine.

The next 2 periods couldn't go fast enough for Tristan or Aiden and after what seemed like a year, last period rolled around. Much to the whole class' liking Mr. Williams gave them the whole period to work a little bit more on their projects. Aiden and Tristan actually got a lot of work done in the next thirty minutes and decided to spend the last fifteen minutes of so just talking.

"So um...do you want to maybe come over after school?" Tristan said shyly. He noticed Aiden's eyes widen a bit and realized what he must be thinking, "Just to talk." He clarified with a nervous smile.

Aiden nodded happily and changed the subject. They spent the rest of the period just talking about various things and when the bell rang Aiden agreed to trail Tristan to his house, since he had no idea where it was. The whole time Aiden was driving he couldn't help the silly grin that spread across his face. His whole life had changed and for the better in a single afternoon and it was all thanks to Tristan.

Stepping into the house Aiden couldn't help but feel a bit awkward. It'd been awhile since he'd been over anyone's house, aside from his grandmother's, so he wasn't exactly sure what to do with himself.

"Hey, let's go up to my room," Tristan said blushing slightly at the way it sounded "There's like zero furniture in the living room." He said laughing nervously.

"O-ok." Aiden said, following Tristan up the stairs. The first thing Aiden noticed about Tristan's room was that it was already fully decorated, unlike the rest of the house. "W-when d-d-id you have t-time to d-do this?" He asked amazed. It seemed like every inch of Tristan's wall was covered in photographs. They weren't like magazine clippings, they were just of random things, it looked as if a person took them.

Tristan blushed and just shrugged " I have a lot of time on my hands." He didn't want to tell Aiden that when they first got to town his father basically locked Tristan in his room, even conviently "forgetting" to call Tristan down for dinner.

"D-did you take all these?" Aiden said running his fingers gently across on of the nearest photographs.

"Um, yeah." Tristan said blushing heavily. The only person who knew about his passion for photography was Abbey. Not even his parents knew, he bought all his cameras himself, developed the pictures at his old schools' dark lab, and his parents never came into his room so, they never really looked at his walls, and if they did then they hadn't mentioned it.

"T-they're am-mazing." Aiden said moving around the room to look at all of them, quickly forgetting his feeling awkward.

"Thanks." Tristan said moving over to sit on his bed. For a few minutes he just watched Aiden walk around his room, his eyes locked on the photos, like he was in some sort of trance. Aiden had just gotten about halfway around the room to a picture of a gorgeous sunset when Tristan interrupted his thoughts,

"Do you wanna watch a movie or just like talk?" He asked.

"M-movie." Aiden said, he'd never been the biggest fan of talking for obvious reasons. He moved to sit next to Tristan on the bed while Tristan got the movie ready, "W-what are w-we w-watching?"

"It's a surprise." Tristan said smiling and settling on the bed next to Aiden. Aiden gave a little laugh when he realized it was The Godfather. It was one of his favorites. Since they had both seen it it was easy to talk during the movie and not get lost. Eventually Aiden found himself wrapped in Aiden's arms with his head on his chest. At first he didn't really notice, just because it felt so right. Aiden couldn't remember feeling this happy in a really long time. He was just waiting to wake up and realize this was all a dream and Tristan didn't exist. He reached down to pinch himself and let out a soft `ow' when he felt the pain.

"What's wrong?" Tristan asked, immediately concerned.

"N-n-nothing." Aiden said blushing. Tristan would laugh in his face if he knew he had to pinch himself just to believe that this was reality.

"Aiden," Tristan said laughing softly " People don't just say `ow' at random, generally something happens."

"D-Do you p-promise not to l-l-laugh?" Aiden asked quietly.

"Yep." Tristan said without hesitation.

"W-well, I w-was j-just t-thinking about h-how p-perfect a-all t-this seems and I had to p-pinch myself to make s-sure it was r-real." Aiden said as quickly as his stutter would allow.

"Hey you wanna know a secret?" Tristan asked seemingly at random.

"U-um s-sure?" Aiden asked confused.

"I had to pinch myself TWICE in the car because I was convinced the first pinch didn't hurt and that it was all dream." Tristan said in a whisper.

Aiden looked up at Tristan wide-eyed. Things just kept getting more perfect. Every time he thought he couldn't possible like Tristan much more than he already did, he pulled one of those and surprised the hell out of Aiden.

"Hey, I'm gonna use the bathroom ok? You can go downstairs and get a soda or something if you want." Tristan said reluctantly unwrapping his arms from Aiden. He stood and stretched from a moment, leaned down and gave Aiden a kiss, then quickly made his exit. Aiden just touched his lips and shook his head on his way downstairs. Today was just absolutely magical.

He found his way to Tristan's kitchen and opened his fridge to see what he had. He found two Cokes, but they were buried in the back so he had to lean in slightly to get them. All of a sudden he felt a pair of not so gentle arms grab him around the waist and push him against the wall by his throat.

" Who the fuck are you?!"

Aiden just stood, or rather dangled , dazed and frightened, only to discover himself staring into a pair of angry ocean blues that definitely weren't Tristan's and quickly running out of air.
