That's Life

Author's Note:

This is my first attempt at writing this type of story. I bet you have heard this line many times. Well, that's life. I just wanted to give you a little on my style of writing this story. It will be third person omniscient. All sentences that are in parenthesis will only be see in conversation and that is only to point out the thoughts the character has that moment. Any sentences in brackets will only be seen in conversation. It will explain the actions that the narrator sees. That's about it. Have fun reading and email me at d_man116@hotmail.com if you like or don't.

Previously:

"Ok everyone. Let's go. We need to get back to Justin's."

They drove to the house. They got out of the car. It was time to deal with the problem.

Chapter 6: Confrontation

The guys entered the house, and the first thing that they hear is from Lance.

"We have a problem, JC."

"I know that. Why do you think we are here?"

"I mean we have a problem that concerns you."

"Me?"

"Joey kinda said something that he wasn't suppose to say."

"Please tell me it isn't what I think it is."

"It is."

"Great! How could you Joey?"

"I didn't mean to. I was sleeping the theater."

"Hold one minute. What are you doing sleeping the theater alone?"

"That is kinda my fault. I left him there."

"Why did you leave him there?"

"I thought he could take care of himself. He is a big boy now JC. I also had to take care of a few things."

"Anyways, as I was sleeping, somebody was kissing me. I woke up and it turned out to be a guy, but it was too dark to see who it was, so I assumed it was Lance. That is where I let it slipped."

"Now we have to find that guy."

"I don't think that will be simple. We have no clue what he looks like."

"Can I ask you a question, Josh?"

"What TJ!"

"What did Joey say?"

"You don't need to know, Tyler."

"Fine then. Why don't you guys call me when I am actually needed? It seems I'm not wanted here."

"I'll go with you, Tyler."

"Thanks, Darryl."

"If they are going to leave, then I'm going to my room. I don't want to be anywhere near them as much as I have to."

"Everyone stop!"

As Kyle spoke those words, everyone froze. Kyle had never used that kind of tune in the presence of the guys. Perhaps, they all blew their chances up, or is this just built up anger that needed to be released.

"Let's deal with this appetizer and afterwards, the main course."

"There is nothing to deal with if I have no clue what you guys are talking about."

"Blind as always. Some brother you are."

"Shut the fuck up Justin. I'm tired of you."

"Like I'm tired of your friend over there."

"Leave him alone."

"Why the hell do you protect him? He just got here. If you weren't too busy with your own thing, you would know what we are talking about. Do you have something for him."

"It looks like we aren't going to eat the appetizer, Kyle."

"I guess not, Lance."

"You're speaking shit, Justin. He is a friend. More than I can say about you."

"I can't watch this anymore. If you want to know what Joey said, I'm gay."

"You're WHAT!" (How can he be gay? He's my older brother. They're not suppose to be like that.)

"RETARD! He said gay. You have a problem with that."

"Shut up, Justin. I'm just surprised. Why didn't you say anything? How could you not tell us this whole long?"

"I thought you guys wouldn't accept me. I was scared of rejection."

The word rejection hit two people in the group. That was the same thing that was stopping them from being true to other and especially themselves.

"I understand. I know what you mean." [The last line was low. Only one person heard it. Sadly it was Justin.] "Wait a minute, that means you are going out with Kyle. That would explain everything."

"You've hit it bro."

"So what are you going to do about it?"

"I guess we have to wait and see what happens?"

" I guess you're right Lance. There isn't really anything we can do."

"Onward to the main course of this dinner."

We are going to enter just purely conversation, so I will add dialogue tags so confusion will not occur.

JC- Why were you guys fighting back at the mall?"

Justin- It's not my fault. If you should be asking anybody, you should be talking to your little brother.

Tyler- I didn't do anything. It is his fault. He pissed me off.

JC- Which brings me to my original question. Why? How bout you Chris? You were there. What happened?

Chris- Justin didn't do anything. He just said some words and that blew up TJ.

Kyle- If you were mad at Justin, then why did you hit Darryl?

Tyler- I already explained that. Darryl got in the way. I didn't purposely hit him. Justin on the other hand, I still want to beat you up.

Justin- Anytime, any day. Just tell me when.

Lance- There will be no fighting what so ever. Wait a minute. Darryl why did you get in the way?

Darryl- Wow! You guys are going to let me have a solo. I was starting to think I was actually Joey.

Joey- Hey!

Darryl- I'm just joking. I was just tired of them fighting. I didn't mean to cause any problems, so I apologize for everything that I might have done.

Justin- Giving up too easy. I knew you were a wimp.

Tyler- Now do you see why I want to beat him up?

Joey- Not really. It's Darryl's problem. Not yours.

Tyler- Why do I have to keep justifying my actions? I would do anything that a friend would do.

Chris- And at anytime did Darryl say you were his friend. I mean you guys have known each other for less than a day. I don't think that should be able to qualify as a friendship.

Tyler- No, but do you actually need a person to say they will be your friend?

Chris- Not really, but how do you know Darryl wants to be your friend. Did he ask you to defend him? I don't think so. I think he said before that he could take care of himself. That he didn't need a babysitter.

Tyler- Well!

Justin- Aren't we mighty speechless?

Tyler- Any friend wouldn't ask for the ok to defend them. You know it too.

Chris- Fine, but as a friend, shouldn't you respect his wishes.

Darryl- Could you guys just stop? Yes I can take care of myself, but I am glad that Tyler came to my help.

Justin- Awww! How sentimental!

Joey- Justin could you just stop the crap. It's getting annoying now.

Justin- I'm starting to see the true colors of my friends. I told you he would be the end of N Sync.

JC- There isn't going to be the end of N Sync. I'm not going to let it happen.

Chris- Why not? It's not like you can't get yourself a solo record deal.

JC- That doesn't mean anything.

Chris- You just now proved that you don't need us.

JC- I didn't say that.

Lance- Just stop it. I am tired of seeing you guys bicker over nothing.

Kyle- You consider this nothing Lance. You guys have a problem and you need to resolve it. Even I can see it and I've only been with you guys for only a year.

Lance- I can see that. I'm just tired of it.

The following conversations occur at the same time.

Tyler- Well I'm not. I still want to beat the shit out of you, Justin.

Justin- I feel like an answering machine. Bring it on.

Tyler- I think I will.

Justin- Like I said, bring it on homo.

Tyler- What!

JC- I can't believe you can say that. I thought we were friends. I could never turn my back on you guys.

Chris- I'm not saying anything. Maybe it is time for us to break up.

JC- Hell no! We've done a lot together.

Chris- You're just making it where the press can't blame you for our break up.

JC- What the hell are you talking about?!

Chris- You being gay.

JC- What!

Lance- Why do these guys always have to fight?

Kyle- Because you guys are friends. We are supposed to fight. We can't be perfect.

Lance- What do you know what it is to have friends. Ever since you met Josh, we've lost a friend. You take all his time. Have you actually made friends with us.

Kyle- I thought we've become friends. For goodness sakes, I told you some stuff about Darryl that only Josh, Darryl's closets friends, and me know.

Lance- That's all you ever do. You talk about other things besides yourself. I know nothing about you besides where you are from and how you got here. Also, how much you love JC. You don't know the real meaning of friendship.

Kyle- You're pathetic.

Lance- What!

Joey starts cracking up after all this ordeal.

Lance- What are you laughing at Joey?

Joey- How you guys are all fighting over the same thing. Then you all said what at the same time. That's what put it over the edge.

Chris- I don't see how that is funny.

JC- Neither do I.

Justin- I agree.

Tyler- For once I am on Justin's side about this.

Joey- At least you guys agreed on something. You guys can continue fighting. It beats WWF wrestling.

The guys continued arguing for twenty minutes over the things that weren't even suppose to have been brought off. In other words, they were off the original reason for all the fighting. Time to get everything off their chest.

Joey- You know what else is funny.

Group- What!

Joey- Who hasn't said a word recently?

JC- Who?

Joey- C'mon, guess.

Lance- How bout not.

Joey- At least see what is missing?

Chris- What?

Joey- Fine, be like that.

Justin- Aren't you going to tell us?

Joey- Try Darryl.

Kyle- What?! Where did he go?

Joey- I don't know. He walked out. I guess he gave up on the fighting.

Kyle- We have to find him. He doesn't know this place.

Justin- I'm not. I could give a shit about him.

Chris- Me too.

Tyler- Fine. Stay here.

The guys took off to look for Darryl. Justin and Chris could give a care about him. It was time to come up with a plan to end Darryl. He caused so many problems that day for all of them. Who would have known somebody could come between this close- knit group.
