The Farm Hand...Chap 7. crackerjack674@aol.com
He felt the sun shining on his back. The wind blowing on his face. The tall grass all around him. He saw a tree off in the distance and could hear the birds. He looked all around and didn't see anyone else. Why was he here? He could feel his heartbeat in his ears. He didn't understand the meaning of this place? Why he kept coming back here.
Jason tried to think why he would come back here. He remembered he use to come here when he was younger. He would walk along the rows of stones, and smell the flowers. Maybe set a while and think to himself as he thought back to his younger days. The writing had long faded over the years. The stone faces green and cracked. Many of them leaning over, some pushed over by the wind.
He found the one he came to often. It was a white stone, its face had a crack running along the upper edge. The chisle writing had worn with the years. The stone had been pushed forward by the wind. He pushed it back into place and packed the dirt around it. His Grandfathers name was still visiable.
He had been close to the boy. Showing him favor when his own parents had said no to a request. The time he had spent with him was all good memories. He had passed on when Jason was just fourteen. He felt the tears sweeling in his eyes.
Dropping to his knees he wiped the tears away with his hand. It had been a long time since he had been here. Some of his biggest problems had been thought about in this very place. He watched as his tear ran down the stone. Disapearing into the hard ground. The flowers had wilted along time ago.
What kind of advice would he give him in this sort of situation? Would he agree or disagree? He had never talked to him about thing's like this. Jason always knew the love was there. He never had to bring that up. His Grandfather had loved him deeply. The advice he had gave him would always be with him. The feeling of emptiness was returning to him. The tears once again streaming down his face. He was lost. All alone and empty.
Getting to his feet he walked to the tree and looked up at it's towering branches. High above his head he could see the leaves blowing in the cool summer breeze. He put his hand to the bark and felt the cold hardness of the massive tree. All alone by it's self. Standing tall its shadow casting across the field. It's branches lifting towards the hot sun and blue sky. Making it through the Summer heat and the cold winds of the Winter. All alone.
Jason was like this tree in a way. All alone, reaching out for love in the way the tree was reaching out for life. He felt something soft and wet touching his lips. Opening his eyes he saw Shawn looking at him. Jason looked over at his clock and saw it was still early. He had been dreaming. Taking Shawns hand he pulled him to his chest. Wrapping his arms around him Jason felt his heart beat. Tears streamed down his face as he held Shawn close to him. He heard a sob and brought Shawns face to his. Jason could see the tears running down his face. Taking his hand he wipped the tears away and put his lips to his.
Exploring his mouth with his tounge. Shawns tounge wrapping around his own. The two boys lay down beside eachother in a tight embrace. Holding eachother affraid to loose the moment. Wanting to be together. No words were needed as they kissed and looked into eachothers eyes. The love was deep inside and no one could take that away. Jason started crying again. This time tears of happiness. Not tears of sorrow. Jason closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. His mind thinking of Shawn. How much he felt and loved this man that was holding him. How he never wanted this to end. That it felt so right and this couldn't be wrong in any way. He loved Shawn and needed him to be with him. And he could see that Shawn felt the same way.
When Jason's alarm went off Shawn was gone. He had left before the sun came up. Jason got up out of bed and started towards the shower. He had to get ready for another day. Smiling at his self in the mirror. He saw the red mark on his neck. How was he going to explain this? He would have to hide it best he could. Making sure not to let Pa see it. He owed Shawn big time for this. Smiling one last time he stepped into the shower.
