The Four Elements
Chapter 1: A Mistake is Made.
The pounding music, and flashing nights swirled around the mass of people on the dance floor. So many hopeless souls, all in one place, searching for another to bind themselves with. This was easy hunting, it was Jarod's favorite place to hunt. Since these clubs started showing up, it had been his preferred hunting ground, much better than lurking around dark alleys for some hapless person to come along. Now all that remained was to choose a victim. He perused amongst the crowd, his gaze came along a single person. Even in this huge crowd, he seemed alone, and lost. He looked to be around 20, maybe 21, was about 5'10", dirty blond hair, a broad muscular chest, and brilliantly blue eyes that Jarod could see even from this distance. Jarod made his choice, this guy looked like he worked out, his blood was most likely delicious.
Jarod made his way down to the dance floor, and joined in the mass dance with the crowd. Slowly but surely he crept through the crowd toward his target. Once he was near enough to be seen by the guy, he made his usual glances, and gentle smiles. This was his favorite part of the hunt, seducing the target. He quite enjoyed giving hope to the hopeless, right before he took their pathetic lives from them. After a few minutes of giving coy glances to his target, the guy took notice, and smiled back, obviously quite happy that someone had taken an interest in him. Jarod moved in closer to his target, bumping and grinding against him. His chosen target was obviously enjoying the close contact, and as always, found Jarod very attractive. Jarod himself was about 5'8", with jet-black hair that he kept fairly long, letting it go free. It covered his forehead, and was just above his eyes, giving him a mysterious look. His small frame helped as well, as many guys found it desirable. He had the appearance of being around 18, although appearances are deceiving. If Jarod had been human, he probably would've found this guy attractive, maybe even wanted to spend his life with him, but this wasn't about love, it was about survival, and fun.
Jarod wrapped his arms around the guy, and moved his lips in for a kiss, this usually sealed the deal. His victim pulled back slightly, this was very unusual behavior for his targets. Even after pulling back, he kissed his target, and the deal was sealed. The two left the club, and headed toward Jarod's car. The car was parked a bit of a ways away, in an alley. He was very proud of his modified Nissan Maxima, deep purple in color, and darkly tinted windows. It also added to his already powerful allure. The pair got into the car, in the backseat. There's more room in the back.
"Hey, what's your name? My name is Jarod." A rule that Jarod had to abide by, certain humans were "untouchable" all vampires knew the names of such people.
"I'm Kaylon." The name rung a bell for Jarod. But he couldn't be one of the "untouchables", he was too pathetic for that.
With the "pleasantries" over, Jarod moved in and started kissing Kaylon. He snaked his tongue into Kaylon's mouth and the two's tongues wrestled. Hands roamed over both bodies as the two continued their passionate kiss. Jarod's hands moved over the bulge in Kaylon's pants. He quickly unbuttoned them, and pulled them and his boxers down. Kaylon was obviously very aroused, his 7" cock stood straight up from his body, but Jarod wasn't interested in Kaylon's cock.
"Turn around." Jarod hissed. He was horny and hungry, he didn't want to waste any time.
"Wha?"
"Just turn around!"
He grabbed Kaylon, and forcefully turned him around, so that one knee was on the car seat, the other leg propping him up on the floor. Jarod quickly unbuttoned his own pants and pulled them down, freeing his 8" cock, which served him well in his travels. He grabbed a packet of lube from the seat pocket, these little things were very handy, he kept quit a few in his car. He quickly lubed his cock up, and positioned it at Kaylon's entrance.
"Go slow, ok?" Kaylon quietly asked.
"Sure." Jarod shoved his hard cock all the way into Kaylon, keeping his hands firmly on his prey's hips to keep him from pulling away.
Kaylon sucked in his breath from the pain caused by Jarod. "Please stop, it hurts."
"It'll be fine."
Jarod began quickly pumping his cock in and out of Kaylon. Kaylon's hands gripped the car seat, his knuckles turning white. He made only slight noises as Jarod fucked him very hard. As Jarod felt himself getting closer to orgasm, he leaned over his victim, so his chest was touching Kaylon's back. As he felt his orgasm begin to tear into his body, he plunged his teeth into Kaylon's neck. A weak cry came from Kaylon's lips, then his body became limp, as his blood was sucked from his body.
With his lust and hunger fulfilled, Jarod felt much better. And he was right, the guys blood tasted absolutely fantastic, probably the best he'd ever had. He pulled the limp body from his car, and tossed it in a nearby dumpster. He quickly drove from the alley, dawn would be coming soon, and he needed to get home.
Kaylon woke up in a daze. As he inhaled, he noticed a foul stench. As he moved his sore body, his hands sunk into something. He realized he was in a dumpster. He quickly pushed the lid open and climbed out. The sun glared down upon him, this was not helping the trash smell he had acquired. He wondered to himself how he got there. He didn't remember much of last night. He remembered going to the club, but he didn't remember anything after that. He figured someone had drugged him, as he had a pounding headache. Fishing in his pockets, his wallet and car keys were still with him. Grabbing his wallet and opening it, he had all his money, and credit cards. This was very odd. A slight movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention. He turned his head to look in the direction of the movement, but nothing was there.
He ran out from the alley he was in to the main street. Looking around he noticed he was only a few blocks from the club, and where he had parked his car. He quickly walked towards his car, hoping nobody noticed the sad state his clothing was in, after spending time in a dumpster. Luckily, he made it to his car without incident, and he made his way home.
Once arriving at his apartment, he quickly removed his soiled clothes, and tossed them into the washer. Even though the dirty clothes had been removed, he still smelled awful. He took a quick shower, feeling much better being clean. His exhaustion from the night took hold, and he fell asleep on his couch watching TV.
Jarod woke incredibly refreshed. He remembered his meal from the previous night, how sweet the blood was. As he lifted to cover of his coffin, he saw two very large, well dressed men standing over him.
"What do you guys want?" His voice shook ever so slightly, he knew who they were.
"Come with us."
The two men reached into the coffin and lifted him from it. Each man holding one of Jarod's arms, he was dragged from his house, and escorted to a limo waiting outside. Jarod sat in between the two men as the limo drove towards its destination. He tried his hardest not to show any fear, but inside he was shaking, and he had a horrible feeling of dread. When the limo arrived at its destination, the two men pulled Jarod from the limo. Upon exiting, Jarod saw where he had been taken, although he already knew he was being taken here. It was a large high rise office building, the headquarters for the city's Vampire Governing Body. The two men carried the frightened Jarod into the building, and onto the elevator. They entered a key card into the elevator's control panel, and Jarod felt it begin to rise. It took a few minutes till the elevator reached the top floor. The doors opened upon a well-adorned lobby, with various paintings adorning the walls. Directly in front of him, lay a looming iron cast double door. Next to the doors, a small desk sat, with a secretary positioned behind it.
"She's expecting him." The quiet secretary told the men.
The two men opened the doors, and threw Jarod inside. The doors were closed behind him, and he was alone in this grand office. The walls were adorned with grand tapestries, displaying various crests from vampire houses. The windows had deep red velvet curtains drawn closed. At the end of the room, near the windows, a very large and ominous desk sat. The chair behind the desk was faced away, if there was someone in the chair, Jarod could not see them. He stood and brushed himself off, and slowly approached the desk. As he got closer, the chair swiveled around, revealing a woman of around 30 years of age, although as with Jarod, this was a deceit. She was sharply dressed in a very expensive business suit, the same deep red of the curtains. Her eyes glared at Jarod with amazing intensity.
"At what point did you think you were exempt from the rules? Do you think your somehow special?" She never raised her voice, but Jarod still cringed.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Of course you do, does the name Kaylon bring any memories to your dimwitted mind?"
"uh..." His voice failed him.
"We have rules for a reason, they are not in place for the elder's amusement, there is a greater purpose to them, one which you are obviously completely incapable of understanding!" She walked from behind her desk, and approached Jarod.
"I'm sorry m' Lady, I thought..."
"You? You thought? Your pathetic mind had a thought? I'm all ears, I'd love to hear this." She was standing right in front of him at this point.
"I thought he wasn't one of the untouchables, he was too... pathetic." His voice quivered in fear.
"You thought HE was too pathetic? Have you looked in a mirror? You are the pathetic one." She was beginning to raise her voice now.
"Please m' Lady, have mercy, I did not know what I was doing." Jarod dropped to his knees, and clasped his hands together, pleading to the woman.
She grabbed his chin, and held his head into her gaze. "You will bring me his body, now! If you do, I might consider sparing your life." She threw his chin away when she was done with her ultimatum.
"Yes m' Lady." He scrambled out of the office as fast as possible.
As Jarod rushed from the room, all he could think about was doing the woman's bidding. As for the woman, she was greatly troubled. Her name was Isa Morena, the eldest, and most powerful of vampires in the city. She herself did not know why some humans were marked as untouchables, but she did know that it was the highest crime in their society to kill one of them. As far as her knowledge extended, it had never been done. If Jarod could not recover the body, she knew the blame would fall upon her, as much as it would fall on him. She decided she would not notify the elder vampires of the transgression until the body had been recovered.
The limo dropped Jarod at his home, and he quickly jumped into his car and sped to the alleyway where he had dumped Kaylon. When he came upon the alley, he was surprised to find the dumpster open, and empty. Perhaps the police had already picked up the body? But there was no crime scene here, which was odd. He traveled to the coroner's office, and the local hospital morgue, with no luck.
He had only one option left, a human witch. He knew her fairly well, and vampires let her live, because she was quite useful. She had the ability to locate humans, amongst many other talents. The vampires called her Morva. He drove to her small house, and knocked on the door. The door swung open, so he entered. As usual, she was sitting in the middle of the main room, in the center of a circle of candles. She was very old, it showed in the wrinkles of her face, but it would be a mistake to underestimate her abilities based on her appearance.
"You are searching for something, why?" Morva always gave him the creeps.
"I must find a person, by the name of Kaylon."
"I know, but why?" Creepy.
"His body has disappeared, Isa ordered me to find it."
"You have found yourself in quite the dilemma. Come, sit in the circle, and take my hands. I must have a link to this person to find him." Jarod complied to her request. He sat within the circle, and gently took hold of the woman's hands.
"Hmmm, he is attractive isn't he? But I sense something more about him."
"Just tell me where he is."
"You really are in deep shit aren't you?" The old woman cackled at Jarod. " He is... he is... not here, not anywhere. He is not of our realm, I cannot sense him at all." Her face wrinkled even more with a perplexed look.
"What do you mean witch?" Jarod was getting impatient with the hag.
"He does not exist, in the world we know. That is all I can tell you."
Frustrated, Jarod left the old hag's house. He had to report back to Isa, if he ran, the consequences would be far worse. With only a few hours left of darkness, he quivered with fear as he ascended in the elevator to Isa Morena's office. He rushed past the secretary, into the office. Isa sat in her chair, her fingers tapping against one another ominously.
"I see your empty handed." She was not happy.
"Forgive me m' Lady, the body was not where I left it, and it was not at any of the morgues. Even Morva was unable to find him" His head was lowered, he did not want to meet her gaze.
"How can you lose a corpse you fool! Its not like it can just get up and walk away!" She started to approach him, with evil intent in her eyes.
"Actually, it is very possible for them to get up and walk away." Isa and Jarod turned there attention to the new person in the room. He was a elderly looking man, wearing black robes, adorned with gold.
"Lord Zan." The two bowed in reverence to the figure.
"Stand, both of you."
"I was just about to deal with the transgressor my liege." Isa pronounced to her lord.
"Unfortunately, we cannot dispatch with him yet, for he is the only one that knows what Kaylon looks like."
"My liege, why is this human so important, and how can he rise from the dead, how can he elude Morva?" Isa questioned.
"There is much that you are not privileged to know young ones, save for this human is now a great threat to our kind, we must find him quickly. Isa, use all of your power to find this human, it is of grave importance." With that said, the man left the room.
Isa picked up the phone, she needed to gather all her resources to find this person, and she had to rely on the idiot Jarod.
