This story is dedicated to my friends Joseph, Jay, Brad, and Shaun, and to all of those out there who have dreams, but for some reason or another, can't pursue them. Well, now that that's all done, I would like to introduce the first installment of The Legends Meet `NSync.

Chapter 1: The Dream

I was just recently discharged from the Navy. It was a disappointing event when it happened, but I'm over it now. My name is Alfred. I'm a gay 19 y/o living in Union City, California, which is about 30 miles south of San Francisco in the East Bay. I have always had an interest in music, and I have always had dreamed of being a famous singer some day. Unfortunately, I have never had the time to pursue that dream, until now. One of my friends sparked the idea of starting a boy-band. His name was Zager, Jay Zager. Jay and I met in Chicago after I finished Navy boot camp. He's a singer at a small Chicago nightclub. We were talking on the phone about him possibly moving to California.

"Jay, have you ever though about moving to California and singing in San Francisco clubs?"

"I've thought about it. Question is, where will I get the money to move?"

"Don't you make enough singing to move out here?"

"Yes, but I'm trying to save my money."

"Jay, do you realize that the amount that you can make here is by far greater than what you could ever make in Chicago. You'll get that money back in no time."

"True. Speaking of singing in San Fran, how are your dreams of being a singer coming along?"

"I've been too busy with other stuff to get into music. I really want to, but I don't have any time, though I'm willing to make the time. Besides, I want to actually be in a group, not a solo act. Who do I know that would be willing to be in a boy-band with me?"

"You know who."

With those 3 words, the spark became a flame. From that point forward, I was dedicated into getting into music. I have been told that I am quite good at singing. Now all I needed was 4 other guys that are good singers. As mentioned before, Jay is a singer in a club. He's an absolutely wonderful bass; I've heard him sing in the past. His plans to move to California were still not solid, though. Besides, where would he stay?

"Like I said, I'd be willing to be in a group with you, but what about a place to live?"

"Jay, you know the answer to that. I'm going to be getting my own place any day now. I'll be needing a roommate."

"That sounds great. I'll look into coming to California after we're done talking. What about other members for the group?"

"Well, I know someone in Vancouver. His name is Joseph Varona. He's a baritone, one of the best that I've heard. We met while I was in South Carolina, about a month after you and I met. He and I got pretty close while I was there. Unfortunately, Navy life prevented anything from happening. Now that I'm out of the Navy, he's been thinking about coming to California to start what we couldn't have before. As you may have already guessed, he, like you and I, is gay. He's also damned cute."

"Probably not as cute as Lance."

"Cuter, in my opinion. Just don't get any ideas. Joseph and I are close, and I won't let anyone do anything to hurt him. Like I said, he and I may start dating."

"Al, you know me. I wouldn't do anything to hurt him. As for you dating him, if you do, I won't get into the way.

"Thanks. Well, I guess I'll call him up and talk to him about the idea. If he agrees to it, he'll probably be staying with us, as well."

"Cool. I would love to get to know him. I'm still not sure about coming to California, though. I mean, it's a big move."

"Jay, who's idea was it to form up the group?"

"Your's."

"Ha! Who was it that convinced me to start a group with the line 'You know who'?"

"Ummm... me, I guess." Jay said, hesitantly.

"Exactly."

"Fine." Jay sighed. "I'll think about coming to California. Even if I do go, though, it won't be for at least a month."

"Jay, we can do this. I know we can."

"You're right." Jay was finally beginning to show some enthusiasm about the whole boy-band idea. "I've wanted to live my own life for a long time. Why not do it doing something that I enjoy, with one of my best friends?"

"That's the spirit."

"I could probably be there in a month. I'm still not sure about doing this. I'll try my best, though."

"We can do it."

"Like I said, I can try to be there in about a month."

"That will be fine. I'm pretty sure that I should be able to get a place by then."

"Great! I'll see you then."

"Bye."

I hung up the phone, thought about the fact that one of my life-long dreams could finally be coming true, then picked the phone back up and called Joseph.

"Hello?"

"Hey Joseph. This is Alfred."

"Oh, hey baby! What's up?" While Joseph and I kept in touch with each other, we rarely talked on the phone because of the resulting bills.

"Well, I was just talking to one of my friends in Chicago, Jay. He's a singer at some club. After some convincing, I think I've managed to talk him into coming to California to start a singing group."

"Cool. You're telling me this because?"

"I'm telling you this because I want you to be a part of the group. I know that you're a great baritone, and we'll be needing a baritone for the group."

"Well I would love to be a part of your group, but I'm all the way here in Vancouver."

"So?"

"So?!? You're in California! I can't be part of a group in California if I'm in Vancouver!"

"Were you being honest with me before when you said that you wanted to come to California to be with me?"

"Yes I was."

"Then why don't you?"

"I could probably be over by this weekend. I have enough saved up to stay in a motel for a month. I just want to get the hell out of this place. If I stay in a motel there, will you visit me?"

"Joseph, you know the answer to that. I'll visit you every day. I'll probably spend my free time with you, showing you around the area, taking you out to the sites, and just spending time with you. We can go see movies at the theatre here in Union City. If you want, I'll even keep you company in bed." I said, smiling.

"That sounds great. San Francisco International, correct?

"Yes."

"Great. I'll call you when I get the tickets to tell you when I'll be there."

"I'll be waiting for your call."

"I'll talk to you later."

"You had better. I love you. Bye."

"I love you, too. Bye, sweetie."

I hung up the phone, then went apartment hunting. With all the new construction in the area, it didn't take long to find one. Not an apartment, but rather, a rental house. It was 2 stories. On the first floor was a full bathroom, a living room with vaulted ceilings, the kitchen, and the dining room. The stairs went up away from the living room. Halfway up, it made a 180 turn to the left then continued to a walkway overlooking the living room. To the left was the master bedroom. To the right and across a bridge were 2 more bedrooms, the laundry area, and another bathroom, as well as a linen closet. In the backyard was an in-ground pool, along with a spa. Both the front and back yards had automatic sprinklers, with an additional drip-irrigation system for the garden out back. The house even had an intercom system. I decided to rent it. Surprisingly, the rent was only $1,500 a month. My next chore was to find a job.

Meanwhile, in Orlando, Florida...

All of the members of 'NSync were at Justin's place. They were waiting for management to arrive. Upstairs, Lance was pounding on the door to the bathroom.

"Justin, will you hurry up?!? I have to go, bad!!!!" By now, Lance was dancing like he was on stage in the middle of a performance.

"I'll get out as soon as I'm done with my hair. Hold your horses!"

"Why are you worrying about your hair? It looks just fine. Besides, you can go back in there as soon as I'm done."

Justin opened up the door. His hair was a complete mess. Lance couldn't help but laugh.

"It looks fine, eh? Go ahead, bathroom's all yours."

"Thank you! For a minute there, I was worried that I was gonna pee in my pants." Lance ran in and closed the door.

"Why couldn't you have just used the downstairs bathroom?"

"Wha? Oh. Chris is in there fixing his hair. What is it with everyone having to fix their hair? It's not like we're going out or anything. Management said that they were gonna be seeing us here. Said that it was something important." Lance came out, comb in hand.

"I guess we're not the only one's obsessed with our hair." Justin said, walking up to Lance and giving him a kiss.

"Very funny." As Lance was saying this, the doorbell rang. Lynn, Justin's mother, answered the door. It was Johnny Wright. Lynn called the guys, who all came to the living room.

"Guys, this won't take too long. I just thought that I should tell you this in person. Your next concert tour has been rescheduled. Oakland and San Jose, CA have been added to the list of performances."

"That's 3 performances in the San Francisco Bay Area?" JC asked.

"Actually, no. San Francisco has been removed. Parking would have been hell for the guests. Besides, the Oakland Coliseum is easier to get to. The Coliseum has freeway access. It's easier for us, and it's easier for the fans."

"When will the concerts be?"

"You'll be in Oakland in four months from tomorrow, followed by San Jose 3 days later."

"I just have one question." Lance, though somewhat shy, was never one to hold back from asking questions. "Will we still be able to go to San Francisco?"

"Of course. We've never stopped you guys from going anywhere, as long as you get back for performances, recording sessions, meetings, and the like, in time. Feel free to go around the entire area."

"Great. There's this club in San Francisco that I've been hearing about that sounds like fun."

"Oh, you mean Millennium?" Justin interrupted.

"Yes."

"I've heard so much about it. I want to go, too. Who else is in?" JC, Joey, and Chris all looked, smiled, and agreed.

"I'm glad to see you guys like the new schedule. Well, thanks for your time. You're free the rest of the day. Just remember, you have a recording session tomorrow at noon."

"We will." JC said. "Won't we guys?"

The guys smiled and nodded.

"OK, great. You guys have a great day, and I'll see you tomorrow."

Back in Union City, I was busy getting ready for Joseph's arrival...

It only took me a few hours to find a job. While in high school, I gained experience running printing equipment, including presses and copiers, as well as with computer graphic design. As a result, I didn't have much trouble finding work. I got a job at the local graphic production workshop for an hourly wage of $16. With a job and a place to call my own, I was finally free of my parents' oppression, though without transportation. After I finished moving my appliances that I bought while in the Navy (including a TV, VCR, DVD player, and laptop), I went to Wal-Mart to buy a futon to sleep on until I could get something better. When I got back to my new home, I called Joseph to tell him about my place.

"Hello?"

"Joseph, it's me, Alfred."

"Oh, hi. I tried calling you, but you weren't at home."

"That's because I no longer live there. I managed to find and a place AND a job since we last spoke."

"You did that in only 8 hours?!?"

"Yep. I'm just as surprised as you. Well, at least you won't have to stay in a motel."

"That's true. Oh, Alfred, I've got a plane ticket."

"You do? Cool! When will you be getting here?"

"I'll be there tomorrow at noon."

"Great, I'll see you then."

"I'll see you, too. Well, I had better get packing. I don't have much to bring, just some clothes."

"OK, I'll see you tomorrow. Have a nice trip."

"I will."

After I finished my conversation with Joseph, I called Jay. His father answered.

"Hello?"

"Hello. Is Jay there? This is Alfred."

"Yes he is. I'll go get him for you."

I waited for about 2 minutes. It seemed like an eternity, probably because I was bored. Finally, Jay got on the phone.

"Hello?"

"Jay, it's me, Alfred."

"Oh, hey Al. What's up"

"I got a place. Now all I need is furniture."

"Oh cool! I've been thinking about what you said earlier, and I think I'll do it. I think I'll come to California."

"Great! Joseph will be here tomorrow."

"I look forward to meeting him."

"I'm sure you two will just love each other. Well, as long as you don't hate each other, things should be great with the group. Well, I have to get going. I'm tired, and want to get some sleep."

"OK, talk to you later. Bye."

"Bye."

I went into the master bedroom, got on my futon, and went to sleep.

Chapter 2: Joseph

I woke up the next morning to the sound of the phone ringing.

"Hello?" I said groggily.

"Hey, Alfred, it's me, Joseph. I just called to tell you that I'm at the airport getting ready to board my flight. I should be in California in about 5 hours."

"Cool. Maybe I should start getting ready now, then. Public transit takes about 2 hours to get from here to the closest station to the airport. From there, I'll need to take a shuttle to the airport. That takes about an hour. I should leave early to get there in time. I'll talk to you when you get here. See you in about 5 hours."

"OK. I'll see you then. Bye."

I hung up the phone. After spending about 5 minutes just lying in the bed to squeeze as many minutes of rest out of the remaining time as possible, I got up and took a shower. After the shower, I went downstairs to cook some breakfast. While down there, I realized that I hadn't bought groceries the day before, so I got dressed and went to McDonalds, where I had a healthy (yeah right!) Egg McMuffin with a hash brown and a large orange juice. After eating, I went to the San Francisco Airport. It took me 2 hours to get there because public transit delays and another hour to transfer from the BART train that I rode to the SFO shuttle. By the time that I arrived at the airport, it had been 4 hours since Joseph called. Once in the terminal, I went to the waiting area. I waited there about an hour before I heard a familiar voice behind me. I turned around to see a very handsome guy. He was slender, about 5'1", with brown hair and brown eyes.

"Alfred?"

"Joseph, is that you?"

"It is I. So we meet again."

We talked for a few minutes as I walked him to the airport shuttle boarding area. We boarded a shuttle, and rode it to the Daly City, the entire time holding conversation. After we got to the Daly City BART station, we went down to the platform, where we waited for a Fremont train. We waited only 10 minutes before it arrived.

"So this is the infamous BART system that you're always telling me about."

"It's not really that bad, though it tends to be somewhat expensive. It also can get pretty slow. We should get to my place in about 2 hours."

"Cool. I can't wait to see it. What's it like?"

"I'm not going to tell you. I want to see the look on your face when you see it."

"That either means that it's not really nice, or that it's luxurious."

"You'll just have to find out."

"I guess I can wait."

"Good."

We passed through 16 stations. At each station, I explained to Joseph the local sites.

"That was just the South Hayward station that we passed. Our next stop will be Union City, unless we stop at the Hayward train yard first."

Just then, over the PA, "Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention please. We will be making a brief stop at the Hayward train yard to switch train operators. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. Thank you for your cooperation."

Joseph asked, "Well, I guess I'll have to wait just a little longer before seeing our place."

"Guess so" I said, "but this shouldn't take too long. Only about 2 minutes at most."

The train stopped at the train yard for about 2 minutes, then resumed on its course for the next station. After about 2 minutes, the operator announced, "Union City. Our next stop is Union City. This is a transfer point for the Dumbarton Express."

"Well, Joseph, this is our stop. I live within walking distance of the station, but being that you are carrying all that luggage, we could take a bus."

"Don't worry about it. The luggage has wheels."

"You sure?"

"Yes."

"OK. If you need any help Joseph, don't hesitate to ask."

"I won't."

We walked for about 10 minutes before arriving at the house. Joseph liked the exterior. We walked to the front door, and entered the house.

"Jesus Crymany! This house is amazing! I love it!" Joseph yelled.

*** AUTHOR'S NOTE: The use of Jesus Crymany is a reference to a "catch phrase" that one of my good friends (and co-worker) uses.

"I'm glad you do. If you want I can show you around."

"Maybe later. I'm rather tired right now. It was a long flight."

"I understand. I'll show you to your room. There's no furniture yet, so if you want to sleep, you can use the futon in my room."

"Thanks, Alfred."

I showed him to his room, which was empty. Since he was tired and there was no bed in his room, I went to my room and got my futon for him to use. I brought it back to his room.

"Thanks for the futon."

"No problem. I'll go out and buy furniture this weekend. I'll just go get another futon for me to use in my room tonight."

"Alfred?"

"Yes Joseph?"

At that point, Joseph gave me a long, passionate kiss.

"Alfred, don't worry about getting another futon. We can share this one."

"Are you sure, sweetie?"

"You made the offer yesterday, remember?" He says, smiling.

"I remember. I'll move the futon back into the master bedroom, then you can get some sleep."

"You're a real sweetie. Thanks."

"You're welcome. I'm going to go out and do some grocery shopping. I know that you had a long flight, so you just stay here and relax."

"I'll try."

I left for the store. What I didn't tell Joseph is that I was also going to the local Sleep Train to buy a bed. After looking at the different models available. I chose a canopy bed with a king-sized water mattress. I paid for it using the money that I had saved, and told hem to deliver it to the house in about 2 hours, which gave me enough time to buy the groceries. I went to the Lucky/Sav-On, and bought the groceries. Afterwards, I went to Wal-Mart to shop for bedspreads. After shopping, I went home and stored all of the groceries. After about 30 minutes, I heard a knock at the door. It was the deliverymen delivering the bed. I woke Joseph up, and told him to put the futon in the closet. After about two hours, the bed was complete, except that the mattress had to be filled. I gave the deliverymen a generous tip. After they left, Joseph and I filled the mattress. When that was complete, we got the bed ready to sleep in. Before going to sleep, Joseph and I talked for a few minutes.

"Alfred, I want to thank you for buying a bed."

"You're welcome, Joseph."

"When do you start work?"

"I start Monday next week."

"That gives us a whole week together."

"And I intend to make the most out of this week with you."

With that, Joseph and I fell asleep in each other's arms.

Chapter 3: Brad

The next morning, Joseph and I woke up pretty early. I got out of bed, went into the bathroom, closed the door, and turned on the shower. After a few seconds, the hot water came. I adjusted the water temperature, then entered the shower. After a few minutes of standing under the warm water, I got the soap and washcloth, and scrubbed myself. A few minutes later, I got out of the shower, and got dressed. I then went downstairs to get breakfast ready. I decided to make some pancakes and French toast. I started on my way up the stairs, when I remembered that the house has an intercom system. Instead of going up stairs, I walked to an intercom panel. I pushed the talk button, and told Joseph that I had made breakfast. Joseph found the nearest intercom panel and told me that he would be down after he was finished getting ready. About five minutes later, Joseph came down. He saw what I had made, and said thanks. We ate breakfast.

"So, what do you want to do today?" I asked.

"I dunno. I was wondering. I know it's off topic, but have you thought of a group name? Because if not, I was thinking, Urban Legends."

"You know, that doesn't sound that bad. In fact, I like it. How'd you think of that?"

"My favorite movie." Joseph said, smiling.

"Hmmm..."

"What?"

After a few moments, I responded to Joseph. "Do you like scary movies?" I said, in a really bad impersonation of that guy from Scream. We both started laughing, then he kissed me. "Well, I guess we have a group name. Do you know any possibilities for other group members?"

After thinking for a few seconds, Joseph answers, "Back in Vancouver, I know someone. His name is Brad. He's a tenor, he looks like a model, and he has an agent."

"I'm guessing he's pretty good, then."

"Well, he and I have sung together a few times. He has experience singing southern gospel and country. What type of music do you want the group to sing?"

"I want to sing pop, rock, and R&B."

"I'm pretty sure Brad could do it. If you want, I could call him now."

"Cool. You have his number?"

"It’s for his cell phone. I have it memorized."

Joseph proceeded to dial Brad's number. After several rings, someone answered.

"Hello?" the person answered.

"Hey Brad, it's me, Joseph."

"Oh, hey Joseph. How do you like California?"

"I love it. In fact, I have a proposition for you. How would you like to become a member of our group? We have a name, unless you have any suggestions. Urban Legends."

"I like the name. Do you really want me in the group? Do you really mean it?!?"

"I'll take that as a yes. I want you to meet the guy creating the group. Brad, meet Alfred."

"Hi Alfred."

"Hi Brad. I was wondering, could I hear you sing something?" I said.

"Sure thing."

Brad proceeded to sing I Want It That Way. Not only was he good, but he was very good.

"Brad, when can you be in California?"

"Well, I'll talk to my agent about it. Once he sees how I really want to do this, he'll get me the tickets. He has a way of getting tickets for the soonest flight possible, too, so I could be there later on tonight. First, though, are you guys good?"

"Brad, I've heard Alfred sing, and he's good. One of the best tenors that I've ever heard." Joseph said.

"And I've heard Jay sing, and he's a great bass." I said.

"Who's Jay?"

"He's one of the other members. He's not in California yet, but he'll be here in about a month."

"In that case, I'll be there as soon as I can." Brad said.

"That would be great. I'll give you our number." I gave him our number, then said, "Call when you know what time you are departing."

"I will. I'll call my agent right now. What airport?"

"San Francisco International."

"Thanks."

"No problem. I'll talk to you later."

"Bye Brad." Joseph said.

"Bye Joseph, bye Alfred. Talk to you guys later."

It only took about 10 minutes before he called back.

"Hello?" I said.

"Hey, this is Brad. I'll be there in about a month. My agent purchased the tickets. He knows Joseph, and knows that Joseph wouldn't dedicate himself to a group that he doesn't think will be successful, so he said that he would look into getting the tickets. I have to finish up some local work, though, so I won't be there for at least a month."

"OK, that would be cool." I said.

"Brad, I'll see you in about a month." Joseph said.

"I'll see you then." Brad replied.

Joseph and I said good-bye to Brad. After some debating about what to do, we decided to go to a movie. We went to the Century 25. With 15 movies to choose from, we had a hard choice. Finally, we chose The Mummy. We entered the auditorium and chose our seats, all the way in the corner of the back row. Joseph sat next to the wall, and I sat next to him. The theatre was set up with stadium seating so every other row has retractable armrests, and the rows without those were rocking chairs. After the movie started, Joseph and I decided to retract the armrest between us so we can more easily cuddle while watching the movie. After the movie, we went to dinner. After dinner, we went home. Since I had work the next day, I set my alarm to wake me up at 7:00 AM.

Chapter 4: Shaun

I woke up the next morning to the sound of my alarm sounding. The alarm didn't wake up Joseph, who was sleeping on the other side of the bed. After turning off that infernal buzzing, I got out of bed, went into the bathroom, and took a shower. When I finished showering, I left the bathroom, and found Joseph sitting up on the bed.

"You're up early." He said drowsily.

"I know, darling. I start work today, and would hate to be late on my first day."

"My boyfriend the printer." He said, smiling, then getting back into bed and going to sleep.

I went downstairs, had my morning cup of coffee, and then walked to work. It's a short walk; the print shop was just around the corner. When I arrived, I entered, and was met by my superior. He was about my age, at most a year older. He was about 5'7" tall, has a slender build, black hair, and brown eyes.

"Hello. I take it you're the new worker." He said.

"Yes, I am. My name is Alfred."

"I'm Shaun. It's nice to meet you. You'll be working the presses today. How much experience do you have using a single color offset press?"

"Well, I took printing and graphics at Logan High School for 2 years."

"I took that class there, too. Graduated in '96."

"You were in the class of 1996? How old are you?"

"I'm 19, 20 this October. I graduated at the age of 16. Had a busy schedule, too. I was taking printing and graphics, and I was a member of the James Logan Show Choir."

"You were in the show choir?"

"I sure was."

"How good are you?"

Shaun broke into a few bars of God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You. At this point, I knew that I had found my fifth member.

"You're pretty good." I told him.

"Thanks."

"Have you ever thought of singing professionally?" I asked.

"Yes. I don't think I could make it, though."

"Shaun, today is your lucky day. I'm starting a group, and I'm in need of a singer. How would you feel about joining the group?"

"Depends. Do you have any other members?"

"Three others, with one already in California. If you join, you'll be the fifth."

"I would love to."

"Cool. Come with me to my place after work. I'll introduce you to Joseph. I live right down the street."

"I'll do that."

After our conversation, Shaun and I started working. Shaun went to the digital duplicator, and I went back to the presses. I went to the rack and got a smock. Then I went to the inbox and got the first job request. It took the entire day to finish the job. After work, Shaun and I went back to my place. It turned out that he had a car, a low-rider Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, so we got there in about 2 minutes. On the way, I found out that Shaun was originally from Texas. We arrived at the house, and I showed him in. I called Joseph to the living room. When he got there, he introduced himself to Shaun. Shaun gave him a short sample of his singing, and Joseph was all amazed.

The three of us decided to order out for pizza. We got 1 large Hawaiian pizza and one large supreme pizza. I called up the local pizza place, and had them deliver. Shaun continued telling the Joseph about himself.

"Where are you staying at right now?" asks Joseph.

"I'm living with my parents at the moment, but am looking for a place of my own." Shaun replies.

"Shaun, we have three rooms available if you want to move in with us."

"That would be cool, though it may take a while for me to move."

"That will be just fine. Come on. I'll give you a tour of the place."

I showed him around the house. Joseph walked with me, holding my hand. Finally, the pizza arrived. We decided to watch a movie. I got a bottle of soda and some cups, while Joseph turned on the TV.

"What movie do you guys want to watch?" Joseph said, while taking out my box of videotapes and DVDs.

We decide to watch City of Angels. By the time the movie was over, it is 10:00 at night, so Shaun decided it is time to go. We all said our good-byes, then Shaun left.

Chapter 5: Jay

The next few weeks were uneventful. I went to work, talked with Shaun, came home, saw Joseph, and slept. Finally, on the first Saturday of the next month, Jay called.

"Hello?"

"Al, it's me, Jay. I'm at O'Hare. They have just started boarding my flight. I should be there in about 5 hours."

"OK, great. Joseph and I will get ready to pick you up. Meet us at the airport shuttle stop"

"Cool, I will. Well, I have to board the place now, so I'll talk to you later."

"Bye."

After hanging up, I woke Joseph up with a kiss. It took a few seconds, but he eventually returned it. We lay there for several minutes passionately kissing each other, before I broke the kiss.

"Joseph, we have to get ready. Jay is boarding the plane as we speak, and it is hell getting to the airport, even with public transit."

"Awww…"

"Don't worry. We'll continue this later." I said, grinning.

"I hope so. You not only got my hopes up, but other things as well."

"I'm sorry, my dear. I'll go make breakfast. What would you like?"

"I'll have scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast."

"OK. You get ready, and I'll go make breakfast."

I proceeded to the kitchen, got out the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic, bacon, and bread, and started to cook breakfast. Upstairs, Joseph was getting ready. He took a shower, puts his clothes on, and then came down. By the time he arrived, I was finished preparing breakfast.

"Here you go, my dear."

"Thank you."

Joseph placed some of the scrambled eggs on his toast, and tasted it.

"These are the best scrambled eggs that I've ever tasted. I'll have to find some way to return the favor later on today."

"You don't have to, but if you want, you can. Just remember that we'll be sharing the house with Jay."

"True. He won't be sharing the room with us, will he?"

"No, of course not. I'll let him choose one of the 3 remaining rooms."

"OK, cool."

Joseph and I continued eating. After breakfast, I took a shower, and got ready to go to the airport. Just as we were about to leave, the phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hello. This is Brad. I apologize for the short notice, but my flight was changed to today at the last minute."

"OK. We'll meet you at SFO in the North Terminal Cafe. We're on our way to SFO now to pick up Jay. His flight is coming in today, also."

"Cool. I'll see you there."

We left the house at about 10:00 AM, and walk to the BART station. It took only about 5 minutes for a train bound for Daly City to arrive. The trip took about 2 hours because of a system-wide delay. By the time we arrived at Daly City, it had been 3 hours since Jay called. It took another two hours to get to the airport; there traffic on the 101 because of a jacknifed big-rig. When we finally got to the airport, Jay's flight had already arrived. We met Jay at the bus stop. With a slender build and a height of about 5'7, blonde hair, and blue eyes, he was a fairly attractive young man. Joseph and I introduced ourselves.

"Jay?" I said.

"Yes. I take it this is Joseph?"

"Yes. Joseph, I would like you to meet a good friend of mine. This is Jay Zager. Jay, meet Joseph Varona."

"Hello, Joseph."

"Hi Jay. I have heard so much about you." Joseph replied.

"All good, I hope." Jay said, laughing.

Joseph, Jay, and I proceeded to the North Terminal Cafe to meet Brad. We requested a table for 4. After about 5 minutes, Joseph spotted Brad. He was 6'3", had a toned build, brown hair with frosted blonde streaks, and dark green eyes.

"Brad!" Joseph yelled. Brad looked around for a few moments.

"Joseph?" Brad responded, looking around. Finally, he spotted us. "Joseph!" Brad ran to Joseph, gave each other a hug, then sat down. After a few minutes, a waitress arrived and asked us for our orders. Brad ordered a vanilla malt, Jay ordered a cheeseburger and a coke, Joseph ordered a banana split, and I ordered a root-beer float. While we waited for our order, Jay and I took the opportunity to get to know Brad.

"So Brad, how did you like Vancouver?" I asked.

Brad answered, "I'm not originally from Vancouver. I'm originally from Saint Louis. 2 years ago, I went to Mississippi, where I met Jason, my agent. I moved to Vancouver about a year ago. From what I've seen, though, I really like Vancouver. The people are friendly, BC is nice, and it's just great overall."

"How did you and Joseph meet?"

"We met at an audition for a local production. Though neither of us got the part, we both came away with something better, a new friend. We have at times thought about being more than just friends, but we didn't want to do anything to ruin our friendship."

"I understand."

"Alfred and I have been getting pretty close since I got here. If he wants, I would like to make it official." Joseph said.

"I would love that, Joseph. Just as much as I love you."

Joseph and I gave each other a kiss, then continued talking. A few minutes later, our orders arrived. After we finished eating, I paid for the bill. We walked to the airport shuttle stop, and waited for a few minutes.

"I notice you don't have much luggage, Brad." I said.

"No. All I brought was about a week of clothes. My agent is going to have my stuff delivered. I was living in my own place, so if you don't already have furniture for your living room or dining room, you can use mine. My bed will also be delivered. It should arrive in a few days, after I tell my agent where to send it." Brad answered.

"We could use that. We don't even have a dining room table. What will be delivered in the living and dining room sets?"

"Well, with the living room set, there's a sofa, a loveseat with recliner, a corner piece, coffee table, end table, and a lounge chair. With the dining room set, there is a table for 6, 6 chairs, a china cabinet, and buffet server."

"Oh, cool!" Jay, Joseph, and I said in unison.

The shuttle to the Daly City BART station finally arrived, and we boarded. After about 30 minutes (traffic was gone) we arrived at the Daly City station, where we disembarked. We waited about 20 minutes for the right train. Finally, a Fremont train arrived. We boarded, and about an hour later, we arrived in Union City. Brad, Joseph and I helped Jay carry his luggage. We decided to ride a bus to the house because of the amount of luggage that Jay brought. Once we got to the house, I helped Jay unpack.

"Jay, what's all this stuff in here?"

"Oh, that's just a box of china that I won at a carnival in Chicago. I decided to bring it since my parents said that they didn't need it."

"Well, I bought a set at Wal-Mart a few days ago. If Brad doesn't mind, I'm sure you could store your china in his china cabinet"

"I don't mind." Brad said.

"Joseph, what do you think of this china?"

"Like you said, it should be used as a display set in Brad's china cabinet." Joseph said.

After helping Jay unpack, I gave him and Brad a tour of the house, and allowed them to choose a room. Jay chose the corner room on the second floor, and Brad chose the front second floor room. I put my futon in Brad's room incase he wanted to sleep, which he decided to do, after calling his agent to tell him where to deliver the furniture. Jay, Joseph, and myself went to Sleep Train, and bought a bed. Jay chose a full-sized bed with a spring mattress. We had the bed delivered and assembled, after which Jay got some bedspreads from his suitcase, made his bed, got under the covers, and went to sleep. Joseph and I got ready for bed, as well. We entered our room, then closed and locked the door.

"Alfred?" Joseph said.

"Yes?"

"Remember this morning? How you woke me up with that kiss, and how I said that I would have to do something for you because of that great breakfast?

"Yes."

Joseph came up to me, and gave me a passionate kiss. I ran one hand under his shirt and rubbed his back, and massaged his ass with my other. Joseph pushed me against the wall, pinning me with his legs, and wrapped his arms around my waist. I felt that maybe Joseph and I should save this for later, though.

"Joseph, don't you think we're moving a bit too fast?"

"Alfred, we don't have to do this. I'm just doing this because I thought you it's what you wanted."

"I do. I just don't think that this is the right time yet."

"You're right. I'm sorry."

"Don't be."

I gave Joseph a kiss, and we drifted off to sleep.

Chapter 6

Joseph and I woke up pretty late the next day. We talked for a few minutes before getting out of bed.

"You were right last night."

"Thanks. I just didn't want to do anything that we might regret later. Our friendship, as well as your happiness, is too important to me."

"I love you, Alfred."

"I love you too, Joseph."

Joseph and I kissed for a few minutes before we got out of bed. We decided to shower together to save time. After the water warmed up, we got in. We kissed for a few more minutes as the warm water splashed over our bare, naked bodies. When we finally stopped making out in the shower, I grabbed the washcloth, put soap on it, and helped Joseph scrub his back. He then did the same for me. A few minutes later, we got out of the shower a few minutes and got dressed. I then went downstairs to get breakfast ready. Jay and Brad had been up for the past few hours.

"Good morning you two."

"Morning, Al. I took the liberty of making you and Joseph breakfast. It's in the microwave." Jay said.

"Trust me, this boy can cook." Brad added.

"Why, thank you, Brad." Jay said, blushing.

I opened up the microwave. Jay was nice enough to make us some pancakes and French toast.

"You didn't have to."

"I know, Al, but I thought that I would do this in return for you giving me a place to stay."

"I'll go get Joseph."

I went to the kitchen intercom and called Joseph down. About five minutes later, he arrived. He saw what Jay had made, and thanked him. Joseph and I ate breakfast. After breakfast, we decided to spend the day relaxing. At about noon, Shaun came over. Since all of the other rooms were taken, I told him that when he moved in, that he would be getting the first floor room. We all took the time to get to know each other a little better. Apparently, Shaun is the only straight guy in the group; Brad is bi. Later that day, we got a phone call.

"Hello?"

"Hi. Is Brad there? This is Jason, his agent."

"Yes, please hold."

I gave Brad the phone. After a few minutes of talking, he hung up the phone.

"That was my agent. He said that my furniture has been shipped, and that it should be here tomorrow. He sent it using overnight delivery."

"Overnight delivery for a living room, dining room, and bedroom set?" I asked.

"Like I said before, my agent has a way of getting things done."

"Speaking of moving furniture, would you mind if I moved my furniture over tomorrow after work? I'll be able to move in tomorrow." Shaun said.

"Not at all." I responded.

"OK, cool. I'll work on getting my stuff packed. It's not much, but it will take a while, so I had better get started on it. See you at work tomorrow, Alfred, and I'll see the rest of you tomorrow night."

"Bye."

After Shaun left, the four of us decided to get some sleep. The next day, while I was at work, Brad's furniture arrived. I got home to the surprising, and pleasing, sight of a fully furnished house. The living and dining room sets were in place, and Jay's china was on display. About an hour after I arrived home, Shaun arrived. We all helped him move his furniture into his room. An hour later, he was moved in. Now all we needed is a manager, and songs.

TBC.

Well, that's the end of part 1. Will the Urban Legends get past the formation stage and actually start performing? Will they ever become as big as the other boy-bands? Only time (and future installments) will tell. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, or ideas please feel free to contact me.
