UNKNOWN NUMBER CHAPTER TWO

"INCOMING!!!!"

Kyle tried in vain to stop the attack with his arms but to no avail.

The water cascading out of the somewhat gigantic Olympic sized swimming pool dwarfed his delicate features until there wasn't a spot on his body that wasn't covered in chlorine.

With a sulk and a irritated look towards his new buddy and neighbour Richie, the latter nearly choking with laughter in seeing Kyle as wet as he now was, knowing of course that he alone had caused it, made the latter teenage boy double up in his cackling.

Once more, when Kyle had managed to get all of the excess water out of his eyes, he was reviting in the fact that his new buddy was nearly naked. Good god. He knew that Richie had a good, decent body from when he had met him, and as it was a scorching 35 degrees outside, the latter in question was only wearing a tank top but nothing...NOTHING could have prepared the boy for when he saw the jewels hidden behind the material.

Richie had a stunning fifteen year old six pack, tight and ripped. His VPL was clear to see, even though it was just them two boys at the pool, but still, Kyle simply could not look away. Richie was pretty much the exact opposite to himself. Energetic, sporty, full of life and energy. That's everything poor Kyle wasn't. He was perfectly fine with a good book and a night in. Yes...he was 15 and not in a old age home.

He sighed.

He and Richie had gotten on like a house on fire ever since they had met and became neighbors about three days ago but something in the back of Kyle's mind said...enjoy this whilst it lasted.

Once school starts, Richie might not wanna hang with him. No matter where he was, no matter where and to which town he and his father, Jason, moved to...it was always the same fucking scenario.

Kyle Johnson...the class freak.

His phone beeped. Kyle quickly grabbed his Huawei and switched off the alarm that he had set for 14:40. He waited in vain yesterday for a phone call from...Well, Rover. The very same Rover Halliday that was supposedly dead for over twenty years.

When he had found the old Nokia 5510 in that abandoned cottage in the back of their newly bought mansion's grounds, it had rung at exactly 14:45. Therefore it was only natural to assume said phone would be ringing the same time the following day...

Wrong.

Kyle sat in his room behind closed doors and waited for over 30 minutes for the bat shit old thing to make a sound or a noise, which it did neither in the end.

"This is ridiculous..." he said to himself.

Just because this old Nokia from yonks ago started to ring suddenly and because a boy his age had answered and because he said his name was Rover...which incidentally was the exact same name of the boy who had died in this very house all those years ago...did he still think it was just Richie playing a prank on him?

The Nokia 5510 suddenly and unexpectedly vibrated inside his backpack.

HOLY SHIT.

He looked straight over towards Richie in complete and utter fear, but he was way too far off enjoying himself at the other side of the pool, swimming length after length...and it was very, very clear that he wasn't the one doing the calling. He took the old Nokia out of the backpack and saw the screen...just like he had seen it flashing two days ago.

UNKNOWN NUMBER

"How, what? I didn't put it on silent last time?" Kyle murmured and his eye fell on the cottage where he had found the damn thing in the first place. He had to move quickly.

"Richie! I'm going for a piss!" he screamed as loud as he could to his friend who was now getting out at the other side of the pool...his beautiful teenage body dripping with water...making his ripped torso and abs stand out even more if that was at all possible...the very spot where his teenage dick had to be was bulging ever so slightly...

"What for? Do it in here!" Richie yelled back and Kyle could see his million dollar smile all the way from where he was.

"Be back soon!" he yelled once more before running as fast as his legs could carry him to the cottage.

Looking back at the pool and seeing that Richie had once more dived in majestically without a care in the world, he pushed open the door, creakingly so, and closed it firmly behind him.

The Nokia 5510 was still flashing that it was receiving a call. This time...Kyle was more than ready.

"Hello? Rover, is that you?"

The other end was silent although it was a very weak connection yet again. Kyle didn't exactly know what to do if the boy didn't reply. Somehow...he had to get to the bottom of all this.

"Rover? Rover, talk to me!"

"How the hell do you know my name?"

Kyle almost let the Nokia fall to the ground in shock at the sound of the boy's voice...a voice from the past...but he swallowed a whole lotta spit and took a deep breath. He had waited for this moment for two whole days. He prepared for this. He knew exactly what he wanted to ask Rover.

"My name is Kyle. I'm...I'm here at Vinny's place. Are you doing okay?"

He had no choice. He had to lie. Where ever in the time or space of the universe Rover was making the call from, he wanted Vinny, whoever that was, and not him. The line was cracking viciously before the voice eventually replied.

"Why do you pick up Vinny's phone every time I call him?"

Vinny. There's that name again.

"Look, Kyle, Vinny...Vinny is my...my cousin! Yeah...and he wanted me to tell you to be careful. Just...look, dude, if there is ever a thunderstorm there where you are, just don't go outside, stay indoors...Rover?"

The line was now really giving connection troubles, but Kyle didn't give up. He knew this might be his only chance.

"...please, Rover. If you can hear me...if there is ever a storm with thunder and lightning please don't go outside! Can you hear me?"

It was silent at the other end for a while before Rover spoke one more time.

"Look, Kyle, or whatever your name is...just lay off the booze, okay? You actually sound nuts. It's just...I need to speak to Vinny. I really need to. We did some...some things last week and I...never mind. When will he be back?"

THE YEAR! Oh God, he already thinks I'm drunk with all that I said...I have to ask him what the year is where he is! Kyle wiped the sweat off his brow and took another deep breath.

"Okay man, I'll do that...listen Rover, I totally forgot what today's date is...?"

There was another few seconds of silence before the boy answered.

"Whatever! It's the 23rd of April and please just get sober and give Vinny the message! I really wanna see him! Don't forget!"

And just like THAT, the Nokia was dead. As if it had never rang in the first place.

Kyle tried to switch the old phone on but nothing worked. He even went as far as trying charging it two days ago with his own Huawei phone charger but it didn't work either.

For some reason...this phone rang only at 14:45 and not even every day. But the time remained exactly the same when it did...Kyle couldn't figure out why. Rover was dead in reality. Everyone says he died being struck by lightening all the way back in 2001.

So how the FUCK was he communicating with me, Kyle thought, his brain wracked with thinking.

"Hey, cheese dick? Kyle? You here, man?"

Shit! Richie!

"Coming!" he shouted before hiding the phone inside the bedside table next to the old bed inside of the cottage.

He couldn't risk keeping the phone with him, it was too dangerous. And since it only seems to ring 14:45 in the afternoon, he didn't need it until tomorrow, at this time.

**

A week had passed.

A whole fucking week.

And no more calls had came through.

None whatsoever.

Kyle was at the point of actually giving up and focusing sorely on his school work. He was so behind it wasn't even funny. Richie and he was in the same class and therefore shared the same subjects. Not that he actually paid attention in class because when he wasn't dreaming about Richie, he was wondering about the mystery around Rover.

Just as he had thought, Richie was one of the most popular boys at school.

But if he had thought the boy would leave him in the lurge he was sorely mistaken.

Richie had solemnly taken Kyle under his wing like no one had ever done before. Of course with Kyle being some what of a nerd, there was always gonna be idiots who gave him a hard time but when they heard he was in with Richie Kent, they backed off immediately.

Going against the former would be complete and utter social suicide.

Each and every day, Kyle would find some excuse to go to the cottage, and like clock work, at.14:45 he would be ready and waiting for the phone to actually ring...only to be disappointed and disparaged.

He sighed.

With him being so weird and all over the place to Rover the previous time he had called, it wasn't a wonder that the boy didn't wanna call again.

And who...who the fuck was this Vinny person? And why did Rover have to see him so urgently back in 2001? The boy sounded desperate to hear from Vinny, whoever he might have been.

"Hey...you okay?"

Kyle looked to his left and he saw Richie look at him worryingly. He smiled back and shrugged his shoulders.

"Nah...there's nothing wrong. Just tired of school work and my dad going on and on at home."

"Is he STILL on your ass? Lemme guess...he wants you to be more like me...dude he even asked me to like, teach you how to be a man properly," Richie said with a joking smile.

"You might be kidding, dude, but I have to hear about fifty times a day how much he wished I was more like you. More muscled and manly. Or at least a boy who didn't look like a fucking twink."

Richie pulled a face before drinking down the last of his can of Mountain Dew.

"Bro...not everyone can look like me."

"Shut up..."

"I'M JOKING! Anyway, if you want to, I'll teach you some work out things you can do. Feel this. Come on, touch them."

Kyle nearly had a brain aneurysm as Richie did the unthinkable...he pulled up the t-shirt that he was wearing and exposed those beautiful abs that Kyle had only seen from a far inside the pool...not even remotely up close.

Fuck sake...you could grate cheese on those babies.

"Touch it, buddy. I don't mind," Richie said with a twinkle in his eye.

Oh god. Did Richie know he was gay? Geez...

"I'm...I'm good, thanks..." Kyle said as Richie's smile got even wider.

"Dude...look, I know, okay? I've known since I first saw you. And it's okay. It really is. I...look, if I tell you something, you gotta promise you'll keep it to yourself. I mean it, Kyle. You can't tell anyone."

Kyle's eyes widened as he saw Richie...being vulnerable for the first time since he had known him.

And what's more...he knew.

He actually...KNEW.

Kyle knew he hadn't exactly been subtle, okay, he had started hypnotically at his beautiful friend every chance he got...but strangely enough Richie seemed okay with him being gay. The kid was always so full of bravado and fun...all of a sudden he was like a shadow of the boy that Kyle had gotten to know.

"I promise, " he said, softly.

Richie swallowed and leaned in closer. Once more, Kyle could actually smell the Brut deodorant that he had on. It was fucking delicious on him.

"I...oh fuckin hell...I fooled around kinda...with one of the dudes at school earlier in the year. Don't...don't look at me like THAT please...it just happened. We were both horny after school and...well...we sorta both...you know...blew each other."

Kyle's dick couldn't have been more rock hard even if he had tried. Good god...this hunk before him...this fifteen year old Zac Efron look alike had actually...had another guy's dick in his mouth?

Struggling to get words out, Kyle stood up and walked towards the window. Again...he saw the giant water pipe hanging outside. He closed his eyes and breathed in some air. He suddenly felt a presence behind him.

"You don't wanna be friends any more now? Yeah. I get it. Dunno why I actually told you that, I...I won't bother you again..."

"No wait, don't...don't go..."

Richie stopped dead in his tracks as Kyle spoke. The boy's eyes were wide as wide could be. He worryingly placed his hands in his pockets and looked Kyle straight in the eye

"I shouldn't have told you..."

Kyle viciously shook his head in denial.

"...No, I'm glad you did. I've been hiding being gay for so long, not even my mom knew when she passed away. And holy fuck, if my dad ever knew...he'd literally kill me. And then you...and Jesus knows you're sexy as hell...you come in here and you tell me you've...I just can't honestly believe it. But Richie...I don't want you to go."

Kyle ran his fingers throughout his hair and found that he couldn't dare to look at his buddy directly. He cleared his throat and his hands were slightly shaking.

"Please, stay?"

Richie smiled once more and he stepped forward.

Before Kyle knew what had hit him, his new best friend developed him into a solid friendship hug. Richie held him tight and he could hear the boy's heartbeat against his own. As if inside a dream, Kyle reached upwards with his arms...and hugged the boy back. His eyes widened as he heard Richie sigh softly, the moment he felt Kyle's arms on his skin.

Together the two boys stood in front of that window in unison...as if time had stood still.

And neither was willing to let go of the other.

**

It was way past his bed time but Kyle knew that he wouldn't sleep for shit that night.

Not when he could still feel Richie's arms around him. Even now, when something normal such as brushing his teeth gave him a steel hard boner. He actually yearned for the tooth brush to be that sexy ass boy's hard cock.

The first ever time a boy his age had physically held him. The first time another male...just held him. God knows his dad wasn't the emotional type.

He knew he shouldn't be jumping the gun but what if...what if...he and Richie could actually DATE for real?

Richie didn't actually SAY he was gay though. Just that he didn't mind Kyle being gay, and that he willingly gave that other boy a blowjob.

But...he never actually SAID the words himself...

Kyle was snapped out of his thoughts when his toothbrush slipped out of his hands and rolled in underneath the bed. Fuck sake.

He knelt down and tried to reach for it but his arms was too short. Cursing his luck, he stood up and got hold of his small torch that was attached to his keychain. Once more he knelt down and now with the light shining onto the wooden floor underneath the bed. With a sigh of relief he finally saw the toothbrush and grabbed it. However, the bottom of said toothbrush scraped against the wooden floor, and surprisingly, revealing a loose piece.

"...the fuck is this?" Kyle whispered as he stood up and with sheer morbid curiosity, he pulled the side of his bed away with all his might, careful not to disturb his dad.

Finally, after what felt like AGES, he had gotten the spot where the loose piece of wood was, open to his eyes. He checked again, and there was an entire piece in the floor, loose and wobbling. That only meant one thing...there was something underneath.

As if in a dream, Kyle reached down and lifted the loose piece of wood from the surface.

It came apart at once, revealing the contents of what had been until now, hidden inside.

Kyle breathed quickly as he knelt down and took a good look.

There was a little red book, the pages all looked in a good enough condition, which very much resembled a diary, with the numbers 2001 engraved in gold at the top. Several other trinkets were gathered out, including a watch, a wallet, some old South African money coins as well as some round shaped things with pictures of old Pokemon printed on them.

And at the bottom of the pile, stuffed in literally so far down, that whoever did this, REALLY didn't want anyone finding it...and it was a photo. An actual printed photo. One of those you used to take with an actual photo camera.

On the photo itself, was two boys. One was tall and handsome, very handsome in fact, with black hair and muscles everywhere you looked. The kid actually...strangely enough, kind of resembled Richie.

"You got Richie on the brain, you idiot," he whispered to himself, but on closer inspection, the kid did look a LOT like Richie. It wasn't his imagination.

The kid next to the weird Richie lookalike, was short and skinny. Very skinny. He was very handsome in his own right as well, and his smile could surely light up any dark alley. His arm was draped across the shoulders of the taller boy, and he looked incredibly happy.

Kyle turned the photo around and saw there was something written at the back, in black pen ink.

"Me and Vinny -"

Oh god. Geez louise.

This was...that means this was...HIS room.

Rover's room.

And those signs next to Vinny's name on the back of the photo said it all...Rover and this Vinny HAD to have been lovers. That explains why Rover had to have hidden it here, and of course...his dad was the town reverend! Rover being gay and in love with a boy, could NEVER come out! That's why...it now all made sense.

Kyle couldn't take his eyes off Rover. What the fuck happened that day? The boy looked so happy...what the hell went wrong?

**

"Come on...you stupid ass phone...text, ring...just do SOMETHING..." Kyle hissed through clenched teeth as he waited impatiently for 14:45 to arrive.

"Dude? Are you here?"

FUCK! RICHIE!

Where to hide the Nokia? Fuck sake...

"Hey man! I've been looking everywhere for you and your dad said you might be in here...seriously? You're in here alone?" Richie said as be sniffed and rubbed his nose. Poor dude had vicious allergies.

Before Kyle could answer Richie plonked himself onto the couch in the middle of the cottage's living room.

"I just had to come over here. Sorry bro. My parents are at it again. I can't take it anymore. Mom thinks Dad is cheating and dad is adamant he isn't. He's been quiet and distant apparently these past few days, as if something is upsetting him, I guess and she wants to know the fuck why. When Mom started to break our plates in anger, I got the hell outta there. I swear, it's just "Fuck you Vinny, screw you, Vinny"...

"Wait, what? You...your dad's name is...Vinny?" Kyle asked...his heart beating twice as fast as normal. The final `Vinny' was said in nothing more than a whisper.

"Yeah, what about it?" Richie asked but before Kyle could answer...

...the Nokia 5510 started to ring.

Loud.

IT WAS ON FUCKING SILENT MODE ONLY YESTERDAY...

"Weird ringtone you got, bro! Don't mind me, go on and answer it," Richie said as he stretched out his legs.

Kyle looked at Richie, and felt the phone vibrating in his pocket...

...what to do??

THANKS FOR READING!!

Don't worry, the sex scenes with come LOL. I always enjoy writing them.

Now Kyle knows Richie's dad is the Vinny that Rover is talking about...will he find out how Rover really died?

And will he be able to warn Rover and possibly change history and save his life?

Lemme know xx
